Dishonest service crew, deceptive advertising, and a disgusted customer. I have had exactly three interactions with this service center, and I have left disgusted every single time. The first red flag was in 2023. My girlfriend brought in her two-year-old Mazda CX-5, and the service advisor tried to hand us an $800+ bill for a laundry list of services--including a brake fluid change and tire balancing. Mind you, this was a nearly new vehicle, and not a single one of those services was on Mazda's recommended maintenance schedule. It was a blatant cash grab. The second red flag was in 2024. We went in for basic maintenance and dealt with a service rep trying to trick us into the exact same round of unnecessary brake fluid changes and tire balancing. When we saw through it and refused, she dropped all professionalism and hit us with an incredibly condescending, "Sure, I meannn... it is your car." The final straw was today. I booked an appointment based on a promotional oil change offer they were running. The moment we arrived, the service guy pulled a classic bait-and-switch, claiming that due to "fine print," they actually had to charge us an additional $50+. Maybe it's our fault for not bringing a magnifying glass to read their ads, but I would much rather do business with a service shop that is transparent and honest. I'm a huge fan of Mazda cars, but the service department at Stevens Creek Mazda is a joke. I brought my 2015 Mazda3 in for the Mazda Connect Class Action Settlement because my display keeps freezing and the touchscreen is totally unresponsive. They confirmed the screen is dead, but then played word games to avoid fixing it. They claimed it's a "lens cover" issue--not a "display" issue--whatever that means. Just so they wouldn't have to honor the settlement. To make it even more ridiculous, they tried to sell me a CarPlay upgrade while standing right in front of a screen they knew didn't work. I texted the Service Manager, Neff Castro, to ask for my diagnostic notes and a real explanation. He's been completely unresponsive. But the part that really pisses me off? I'm still getting automated "special offer" spam from that same phone number. They can't be bothered to reply to my complaint, but they'll keep blowing up my phone for more money. We wound up traveling a few miles south to Capitol Mazda where we spoke to a nice, young man there and thus purchased a 2026 Mazda 3 from that dealership. We now have a new, 2026 Mazda 3 but we obtained it without ANY help whatsoever from Stevens Creek Mazda. We have NO Idea why Stevens Creek personnel don't and won't return phone calls. Was in the market to buy a new car before the new year! We stopped by our neighborhood Mazda hoping to test drive and purchase a vehicle. PROS + Really modern and clean inside! Plenty of space to wait. CONS - We were promptly ignored when entering. There were plenty of sales people typing on their computers who could've glanced up and said a simple hi,.. but no lol. After waiting around for a few minutes, we signed in the check-in sheet and sat down. - At around 30 minutes of waiting, I decided to inquire for a test drive online and see if I could get fast service. - At around 40~ min I decided to call Capitol Mazda (south SJ) and see if they were free for a test drive. they said yes, so we decided to leave and drive down. - On the car ride down, someone from Steven's Creek Mazda called me about my test drive LOL. Ultimately, I ended up purchasing my new car from Capitol Mazda. Kind of out of the way but way better service. Was really happy with the results. TLDR: Don't come in as a walk-in.. you will probably be ignored. Maybe inquire online (but also be prepared to be spammed endlessly with phone calls + texts). 1-Star Experience - Poor Service and Zero Accountability Steer clear of this Mazda service center. What used to be a reliable place has completely gone downhill. We had questions about a possible tire warranty--tires we purchased here less than two years ago with under 10k miles. Yesenia, our service rep, didn't know if they were covered (which is fine), but when we asked for clarification, she responded with, "Check what, what do you want me to check?"--an uncalled-for, dismissive response. We asked politely, more than once, just trying to understand our options. Instead of helping, she refused to follow up and continued processing the transaction. Her attitude was passive-aggressive, and we felt completely ignored and unheard throughout the visit. When asking follow-up questions on what each line item meant, she refused or gave short curt answers to explain what was done with the service. An incredibly distasteful experience. I felt like as a customer we could not ask any questions, maybe this part is an integral aspect of training the staff to shut down questions? It's just disingenuous and unnecessary. Between the lack of information, poor communication, and overall rude demeanor, this was without a doubt a 1-star experience. We won't be returning--and if you want respectful service, I'd recommend going elsewhere. I found out there was a recall on my cars fuel pump and ive been having issues with my tanks pressure sensor so I thought it had to be related. When i called the service center the man on the phone was so rude not even wanting to check my car because he stated that it was an extended warranty and that they wont do anything unless its broken. My. Car. Didnt. Tell. Me. How. Much. Gas. I. Had. Sounds broken to me. Anyways i took it to the Capitol location and it indeed was an issue with what was recalled. I wasnt going to go back but i got an email offering me a $50 oil change at this location . It said the offer was specifically for my car and included my vin number so imagine my surprise when i go in and they say itll be twice as much because my car needs full synthetic. I test drove a cx5 today, traveling 2 hours to view it.. They had done a lot of work including replacing the front lower control arms, and lower a/c line for a leak. A lot more work than should be necessary at 100k miles... exterior had paint damage, and engine lifters were loud for the mileage. Unfortunately during the test drive I experienced an engine limiter at 3k which means either misfiring, exhaust backpressure, or catalytic converter most likely. They offered me this car for 14k otd but wanted 2 to 3k for a warranty that would be powertrain only or gold level for 2 years, and told me the bank is restricting the coverage, which makes zero sense as the bank would want coverage to guarantee repayment. I was told it is just too complicated to explain to me. Neither include coverage for exhaust or catalytic. They then diagnosed the issue with an obd tool. They reported zero issues, no faults whatsoever. When they came to discuss it they brought the tool which had an obviously bent obd2 pin. This was a former rental car most likely driven as a gokart. It was a shameful display of attention to detail in my opinion. tl;dr version: I bought a 2025 CX-5 Premium Plus in May and also have had one service appointment for a break in oil change. After six months I have no complaints about my experience with this dealership. Longer version: I was trying to get a Rav4 Limited Hybrid, but very specific features and colors not found locally, but Toyota dealerships were playing games since tariffs sparked demand and people were putting deposits and buying them up sight unseen. After a couple of months I got tired of unethical behavior from Bay Area Toyota dealerships. I pivoted to look at Mazda, Subaru, and Honda. For Mazda Stevens Creek I saw what I wanted and scheduled a test drive for the next day on the website. Danielle responded in less than half an hour. She wasn't going to be available at that time, but she said Jonathan could help me. I showed up, met with Jonathan, we had good talk. He let me do a test drive on the street because I do mostly street driving. Everything checked out, I got a good vibe, I got good terms. I didn't feel pressured. We did the paper work and everything and I was able to drive off the lot a few hours later. The plates and registration arrived in the mail roughly two weeks after. Only hiccup was accepted down payment methods, I had to get the wire information from one of my bank accounts. The car has been nice, could be improved in a couple of areas but that's not a dealership issue. Service Center: A few months later I got an offer for an oil change at their service center. I hadn't driven much, but a break in oil change after 500 or so miles isn't a bad idea and I also would get to see if I'd want to use it in the future. I wasn't planning on using it for oil changes and didn't buy a maintenance package. The person who helped me said it would take 2 hours, but it took roughly 1.5 hours for synthetic and inspection. They have a feature where the technician shoots a video and show you the inspection details like your filters, undercarriage of the car, etc. that was pretty nice. It's a little longer wait than I'm use to from the Toyota dealership next door, but it's also a smaller lot so less workers and space. The office is nice, free wifi, open space, big windows, a couple of TVs, nicer than the Toyota dealership waiting area but no fish tank. Bottled water is available. It's way better than the Kia Service Center experience down the street. That service was bad enough to make me never want another Korean car. Overall I'd consider the service center again if I see deals when I need them. read more

As luck would have it - John and his team found things that needed to be fixed and replaced - engine air filter, cabin air filter, and all four tires. I asked John if he'd work with Carvana's insurance company (SilverRock), and without hesitation, John obliged and was able to get those items completely paid for through the warranty. Saved me a ton of headache down the road. John's approach was non-salesy - he empathized with my situation, and I knew right away that I was in good hands. Made an appointment online via their website and received a slew of text messages and e-mails confirming and reminding me of my appointment. Received an e-mail the morning of my appointment informing me that check-in was available. Drop off was a breeze, entering my mileage to the website. My service advisor came out to do a visual inspection of the vehicle, including photos, before putting together a work order, which took a while... Managed to grab a loaner and received a phone call later in the day informing that the parts were on order and that the vehicle would be held overnight! The following day, my service advisor called informing me that the vehicle was ready along with the results of the complimentary inspection. Upon returning to the dealership, the service advisor went over the service along with areas that needed attention moving forward. The written report along with the video showcasing the areas of concern were extremely helpful, in addition to the quote. Believe the bad reviews! Avoid this dealership at all costs unless you appreciate being nickel and dimed. I took my car in for a recall repair and a software update which was supposed to be covered under the terms of the Mazda Infotainment System class action settlement. Despite the issues I said I was having with the infotainment system, and the fact the settlement terms say, " All current owners or lessees of Class Vehicles will automatically receive a LWE for potential software updates or necessary connectivity master unit (CMU) repairs or replacements for a period of 24 months....." they wanted to charge me $150 for the software update, which I refused to pay. Previously, in July, we took another Mazda to a dealer in Eugene, Oregon, who voluntarily told us about the class action suit and updated the software for us without fuss. Oh, and they now also charge 3% to pay with a credit card as another way to nickel and dime their customers. Who doesn't pay with a credit card when getting their car serviced? To summarize, DO NOT PATRONIZE Stevens Creek Mazda. There are better dealers out there. FYI, Putnam Mazda has great reviews and I had a very positive experience with their sales team. read more

A wise man (my dad) once quipped that the only thing worse than getting into a traffic collision is when you need to buy a new car. It's that dreadful thing that most people experience at least a few times during their lives. After doing months of research and narrowing down the potential vehicles that I wanted, I dreaded the next step! After all, the idea of an "honest car salesman" almost seems like an oxymoron. Thankfully, STEVENS CREEK MAZDA is different. This dealership and its people have been a breath of fresh air! After a phone call to Stevens Creek Mazda (part of the DGDG auto dealership group), I learned that they had a particular make, model and trim of a vehicle that quickly became one of my favorite choices for a new vehicle. I decided to place a reservation on it. Through months of research, I've realized that Mazda really does provide the most bang-for-the-buck. After all, over the past few years, Mazda has been shifting toward a more premium experience. During a Christmas Eve run to Safeway, a guy pulled up next to me in a beautiful Mazda. I asked him how he liked it. He said that he went from a Mercedes to this Mazda; yet, it felt like an upgrade. He went on and on about how much he has loved his vehicle for over a year. So, when I received the call that the vehicle had arrived, I made an appointment. At the dealership, I met MIKE "Short Mike" McGHEE. Instead of just trying to make a quick sale, he wanted to make sure that this vehicle was right for me. In my experience, "Short Mike" went up and beyond what any other new car salesman has ever done. After a test drive of that specific vehicle (because Mike wanted to know that I was satisfied with THAT particular vehicle), we started the purchase process. Instead of a grueling back-and-forth, Mike McGhee made me feel very comfortable with this entire process. I was able to get a good deal on a fantastic vehicle. After working with a great finance director (Randy Guzman), I was given the keys to my new Mazda. Even after the purchase, "Short Mike" McGhee walked me out to the car and was ready to answer any and all questions that I had. He waved to me as I drove off in my new vehicle. He even called me the next day or two to check up on me and let me know that he was there for any questions or concerns that I might have. It's probably quite rare to actually thank a car salesman, dealership finance director and a dealership in general. Yet, I cannot express how painlessly seamless this entire experience has been. I drove the vehicle up to the Lick Observatory atop Mt. Hamilton this weekend. It was a fantastic drive....and the view wasn't bad either. When they offer you the prepaid maintenance deal, do not take it. Just went in for my 5 year plan. The engine fluid, break fluid replacement costs additional hundreds of dollars, spark plugs costs 400 extra for the parts, break pads costs 350 extra. Just bought our third car from 'Short Mike' McGhee here Stevens Creek Mazda. Once again, our purchasing experience from start to finish was very easy and pain free. Short Mike did a fantastic job making sure we got the exact CX-5 we wanted. We'd even told him if he wasn't able to get the specific one we wanted, we'd take the turbo version they had in stock. This gave him the opportunity to up-sale us and he still went above & beyond to get the actual model we wanted from their Vallejo location. Honesty like that is hard to find nowadays and it's the reason we will continue coming back to this location. We also had a very pleasant experience with the finance advisor while doing the paperwork. He was extremely efficient and friendly. I replaced a 2016 Mazda 6 with 160K miles I put on it. That's a lot of service appointments during my ownership. I did 99% of all my servicing at this location and always left happy. The service team here was consistently quick to keep in contact with me while servicing. I've never had a problem with not getting replies to my calls with concerns outside of servicing as well. Don't trust what she said! Took my 2021 Mazda CX-5 with only 40k miles for diagnostics because the battery drained every 2 nights. Although the battery was replaced with a Mazda dealership 2 times in the same month, Anna insisted that the battery is bad and it needs to be replaced. I agreed, and so she replaced it; the issue remains the same: they could not figure out the issue, and they charged me for a new battery and diag fee, $700 out of pocket, and I walked out with the same issue. took the car to a third-party mechanic, and he fixed it for $200.
