I must say their service department is great and so is the Service Manager Wilson and all the Service Dept Staff, recent over the years I have gone to Newman, but all the service staff there are great. I have been service there for 2+ years and Allan was the best service advisor. I recently had to tow my car in. I called the next morning and was told my service advisor was Mike. He called me early afternoon to say my transmission was dead and it is cheaper to buy a new car. So brusque about it. Just wanted off the phone. I asked him a question about the recalls and he said he would check with technicians and call me back. That was at 2:00 on Wednesday. No call. I called the next morning at 11 and got his voicemail. Still no call back. I called again and he called me back around 2. Meanwhile I am so stressed that I need a new car. When he called me back he was rude and told me they were busy. I again asked about my car and he said to buy a new one. I asked what to do with the dead one and he said he doesn't know but I need to tow it out. Zero empathy or manners. I tried to ask another question and he told me they were busy. I told him (politely) that I was frustrated about how rude and dismissive he has been. He again told me they were busy and said he no more info for me. A little while later, the Service Manager called to try and smooth things over. Also said they were busy and that's why no one called me over 2 days to tell me about my car. Not an excuse. He told me what I could possibly do with my car. I did not even want to bother talking. On Saturday, I went in to pay and tell them the tow truck was going to be there. The guy who helped me was SO RUDE. Talking as he was walking away and told me it needed to be gone by 4. It was in the back and he said no one was allowed there. I asked how he the tow truck was supposed to get it if they could not go back there. He walked away and said he would get back to me. In usual style, he did not and I had to go find someone. Someone then pulled my car to the front. I realized once they say they weren't getting my money anymore then they had zero reason to be nice and/or helpful. I am super mellow and did not yell, etc. I politely told them on the phone that I was not happy with the level of service. FOLLOW UP: They missed an opportunity for a sale. Rather than ask if I would like to look at the used cars or even buy a new one, they brushed me off. I would have looked at cars as I don't have one now. Sunnyvale Ford I had one of the worst dealership experiences I've ever had at Sunnyvale Ford while attempting to purchase a Ford Raptor (Stock #S0652). I initially found the truck on Facebook Marketplace through their salesperson, Fernando, and then worked directly with their General Sales Manager, Mark. I made it very clear from the beginning that I am in the business and was ready to purchase at invoice pricing. I was also transparent that I was considering a Hennessey Ford truck at Ken Grody Ford, where I had already been offered 5.99% APR for 72 months through Ford Financial by buying down the rate. We agreed to very specific terms: * $2,700 under MSRP * $895 GAP * 5.99% APR for 72 months I authorized Mark to run my credit through Ford Financial ONLY. Instead, he ran my credit multiple times without my consent, claiming he was searching for a better rate. I now have multiple hard inquiries on my credit report. He eventually secured 5.99% through Bank of America instead of Ford Financial -- clearly to avoid buying down the rate as discussed. This was not what we agreed to, but because my credit had already been hit multiple times, I tried to move forward anyway. It gets worse. I clearly stated I would be the primary signer and my sister-in-law would be secondary. Mark approved an arrangement where my family would go in to complete her portion and then send me the contract to sign and notarize. My brother and sister-in-law drove FIVE HOURS to the dealership. When they got to Finance, we discovered my sister-in-law had been listed as the PRIMARY signer and the vehicle was registered to her address -- without my authorization or knowledge. This was a complete restructuring of the deal. Finance claimed this was the only way Bank of America would approve the loan. When I asked to go back to Ford Financial with me as primary, the rate magically jumped to 6.69%. I asked them to honor the original agreement and buy the rate down to 5.99% as promised. They refused. My family drove ten hours round-trip for nothing. No accountability. No effort to fix it. Just careless, unprofessional handling from management. The GM of the store Jim Popal did nothing to remedy the situation didn't even reply to my email complaint. If you value your time, your credit, and clear communication, I would strongly recommend shopping elsewhere. read more

DO NOT COME HERE. I could leave zero stars if I could. We signed a contract and we told the finance manager Luis to put me as the primary owner of the vehicle with my father as a co-sign. They call us back to resign paperwork as he mentioned that they accidentally put my dad as the primary owner, stating that it would be a quick fix by resigning papers and no numbers would change. Our fault for trusting them, but little did we know we get home to review the paperwork and the APR went up 1%. This caused the monthly payment to go up, but we didn't bat an eye. Then Luis calls me again a few days after resigning the paperwork and says I needed to pay an extra $1200 because the bank said I live in a "higher tax area". I told him we already resigned paperwork and we wouldn't be paying that as we did not agree to it. We go in to discuss options and they finally admit that it was a mistake on their end after blatantly continuing act like it wasn't their mistake and it's just "Uncle Sam". We speak with Mark the manager and after we say the customer should not be paying for a mistake they made, he says it was a system error when we redid the paperwork and that we needed to pay it no matter what. In the end, they covered the cost because they did not want to lose the sale, but watch out for these guys as they are sneaky and try to mess with the numbers behind the customer's backs. read more

Really disappointed with service here at this dealer. My 2025 Ford Expedition has been in the shop for almost two months. All because one morning the key fob wasn't detected (but could still start car with phone). They claim to have fixed that issue but then ran into other problems they haven't been able to fix yet. I've called multiple times a week for updates and its always "Waiting on Ford..." "Ford told us to order a part, still waiting for the part" "Ford told us to order the same part again because maybe it will work this time". Ford said to order the same part 3 times. I have no confidence in their ability to fix this. They even called asking me about functionality that comes with the car standard as if it was an after market add-on, they asked that 1.5 months after taking the car in! When I called Ford customer care, their record what was happening was different from what I was told by this dealer. There's been times when they haven't heard any news from Ford in over a week. I've never gotten a sense of urgency or care to get this vehicle fixed. I've never been this disappointed in a new car and service in 20 years of owning multiple cars. I came down from berkeley via public transit, a 3 hour journey, and was told by the salesman that the car was bought at auction. Car had 4 bald tires and they said they may only replace the front. Car needed new brake pads, and had damage to all exterior panels and much of the interior. The price I was told is non negotiable because the service department is not the same department as sales so sales must pay 350 an hour to their service team for any labor. As I prepared to leave the sales manager came out to try to sweet talk. I explained what I was told regarding labor cost and he said that was not true and asked who said it, with the salesman standing next to him. I had a pretty poor experience at this dealership with my Ford Transit. I scheduled an appointment online for an oil change. I showed up and I was ignored for quite a while. Eventually someone finally took my paperwork walked around the corner talked to somebody for a while and then came back and said that they can't work on my transit today. They only have one outdoor lift and its occupied. It took quite a while for them to get to the point where they could just tell me that I wasn't going to get an oil change today. My 2025 Ford Mustang was scheduled for service for an important safety recall. The inspection and repair for this recall was coordinated by Thiago Caetano and, because I didn't have another car, the automobile was picked up and delivered back to me. The whole experience from top to bottom was seamless. Julio picked up the car on time and took great care in covering the driver's seat and carpet prior to getting in my car. I am a little late in writing this 5-star review regarding my dealings with Sunnyvale Ford, and especially the excellent Sales and Finance Manager Sagar Gurubg. In early September I was looking to buy a 2020 Ford Escape and visited several dealers in the area that had one for sale. My last stop was at Sunnyvale Ford where I was met by a smiling Sagar. He showed me the car and answered all my questions. One of my concerns was the fairly recent addition of a 1.5l 3-cylinder turbocharged engine. We took the car for a test ride. I found to be in excellent condition and the engine performance to be very good. It was clear that I liked the car and was interested in purchasing it. During the negotiation process, which was smooth, quick, easy, and without any extra sales pressure. We settled on a slightly reduced price and completed the transactions. During the following month, after the sale was completed, I discovered a couple of items that needed attention, so I went back to Sunnyvale Ford where each time Sagar saw me and immediately greeted me asking how he could help. In both cases, two weeks apart, Sagar took immediate action and, in one case with the help of his manager Mark Pamo, got the necessary parts replaced and my issues taken care of, at no costs to me, even though one item could have been contested as part of this being a used car. During this whole process Sagar was not only always friendly and professional in his dealings with me, but very helpful in getting my problems taken care of. I cannot praise him enough for his customer service and friendly attitude and his professionalism. If I ever need to buy another car, Sunnyvale Ford is the first place I will go. I should have trusted my gut and left but I bought a car that seemed to check all the boxes. Regretfully, it had issues. Did I get the coverage - no.
