Sunright Tea Studio is in the OC Mix and occupies that the old location where Seventh Tea, the crepe place, and the matcha place used to be, next to Portola Coffee. They do milk tea and fruit tea drinks. My go to is the Oolong Milk Tea, which could use a little stronger oolong density but overall is better than most places in Orange County that attempt to do an oolong milk tea. It was a good balance of creaminess and sweetness at regular levels (no adjustments). I have also tried their standard milk tea and that did not make much of an impression on me. I have not tried any of their fruit drinks. Brown Sugar Boba - If you are getting boba, this is the only one to get here. Sometimes you'll get it still slightly warm, but it is always soft and tenderly chewy. I've never had a hard brown sugar boba here. This boba does have flavor, it's got brown sugar sweetness inside compared to many places that serve flavorless boba. Up there in my list of favorite brown bobas in Orange County. Honey Boba - I got this once and regretted it right away. The boba is a clear gold and I couldn't discern any notable sweetness or honey taste. All of these boba were much firmer in general compared to the brown sugar boba. On busy weekends there can be a 10 minute wait to receive your drink order, but for the most part everything flows quickly here. On weekdays days it takes 5 minutes or less. They do have a frequent buyer program but it is and was confusing. They started with a virtual stamp card where after you checked in with your phone number they would stamp you on the screen for each drink ordered. Then three months into it, they switched to a dollars based check in and all the stamp card visits got lost. They told us that the stamp credits would be transferred at $5 for each stamp but I have yet to see that merged into my account on the new program and it's been at least 2 months. They said it would all be credited by 12/31/19, but we'll see. There's seven more days left in the year so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now. If you participate in the frequent buyer program, it asks you to sign in after your purchase, and then it adds the dollars you just spent to your balance. My question is, how do you use the accumulated rewards when you don't get to sign in until after you've paid? All other programs show you your balance and coupons available before you pay. Anyhow, not a big deal, but just something that perplexed me. If you like your boba tender and sweet, Sunright is where they serve it that way and consistently too. read more

I've only ever been to this location since it's closer to work and I've convinced my team to do a couple boba runs in the past couple months. My favorite drink is the Yogurt Green Tea, which is a mix of their green tea and a couple bottles of yakult. Sunright makes my favorite iteration of this drink since their green tea has a strong punch and the flavor doesn't get lost in the tart yakult flavor. There's a perfect balance of tea flavor, sweetness, and tartness for my preferences. The boba comes warm and has a nice bounce to each bite. As for other drinks, I would recommend the Oreo Brulee Milk Tea Boba if you have a sweet tooth or the White Peach Oolong Cheese if you prefer a more subtle drink that contrasts well with the cheese foam. The shop is located in the SoCo Mix, which is a collaborative of many small, trendy stores (similar concept to Anaheim Packing District), but they have an entire seating area reserved for their store. This is the perfect spot to catch up with friends in the afternoon over some boba, but I would say it gets fairly busy during more peak hours on the weekend. Parking is fairly easy as the parking lot is rarely completely full. Weird note, but I love the cups that they use since they have a substantial and premium feel. Overall, Sunright stands out from the crowd of tea shops and I'll definitely be back in the future for more! read more

I know that Omomo is poppin' in Irvine and Chino Hills, but Sunright is very similar and actually located all across SoCal (both OC & LA) and their drinks are tasty! Ironically I haven't tried their tea drinks yet, considering they are called Sunright TEA studio, but their frozen drinks are really good. I like that that they serve jasmine tea jelly, so even if your drink doesn't have tea, you can get that nice jasmine tea flavor. I've tried their summer frostie (passionfruit and pineapple) as well as their mango frostie. The only slight downside is that if you lower the sweetness on the frosties, it affects the creamy texture of the drink. So if you want something super creamy, I'd keep the sweetness at its recommended amount, which can be a tad bit sweet. This location is small, as it's located inside of a food court/marketplace. We ordered our drinks on a touch pad, which was easy to navigate. Even with a line, our drinks didn't take too long. We did find out that you can order online, which can help with the wait. I just found out they're opening one in Gardena, so I'm super excited to have another awesome boba option in the South Bay! read more
