This used to be one of my go-to boba places. These past few visits were not nearly as good as before. I always get the cheese foam drinks because they were great. For the past 6 months, their cheese foam got really blend! They're watery and gross. It's definitely not a fluke, it's been consistently watery and diluted for months already. But they still charge you $1 for it. This location in particular is very slow as in getting orders ready. There's always a long line even though they have 3-4 staff working at the same time. The reason being most of them are new. And they have a tendency of messing up orders. Yesterday we spent 45mins for ONE drink just for them to tell us we didn't order?! Nope it wasn't a system glitch, it's because they made my drink wrong and left it on the counter but failed to acknowledge the mistake and never remake a new one. Never apologized either!!! Being near the SGV, there are a LOT of boba spots. And we've tried many around our area. We always keep coming back to Sunright because it's not only good, but consistently good. We've tried different teas - from milk teas, to fruit teas, to the frosties, and the yakults - and we've liked all of them. It's hard to describe but there's a quality with their teas compared to some other boba spots in the area. Some of our favorites are the matcha milk tea, ceylon milk tea, sunright fruit tea, and mango jasmine tea. We keep going with those because they always hit the spot just right. What a joke this place is. I asked one of the employees what four seasons tea was and got a reply back, "it's tea". Like no shit it's tea, can you be any more descriptive? I thought we could order up front with the register but the employee redirected us to an online screen that wasn't even properly on. We had to ask them to put in their passcode to turn it on. When we were ordering on the screen we weren't aware there was no boba until on the screen it said "boba sold out". So we had to ask them, again, why there wasn't boba. Apparently it wasn't made and would take half an hour. Pretty much the experience was pretty bad. Lastly, when I got my drink I gave them the benefit of the doubt that hopefully the drink could redeem itself. But seriously four seasons tea is really bland. I've been to the Costa Mesa location before but there's always a line and a wait to order, and then to get your tea. I get it, they're handmade, usually complicated drink orders and they're definitely worth it IMO. This place reminds me of Omomo and it definitely tastes pretty similar! My friend recommended the matcha smoothie with no red bean and Oreos + the yogurt green tea. We normally have boba every time we see each other, so we try to branch out and try mom-and-pop, independently owned places if we can, but we saw that Sunright Tea Studio was close by and we opted for that instead. It's been awhile since I even had milk tea drinks and this is the first store that we decided to order from. The dine in section is still not open but you can order drinks from the kiosk. Only one person is allowed inside while ordering. After you order from the kiosk you have to enter in your credit card. So I'm assuming they aren't take cash payments. Most likely for hygiene purposes. Overall when we went here no one was in the store except for two workers making a ton of drinks. They looked quite busy so maybe people are able to order online or something. I'm not sure, but our drinks also only took a few minutes to make and we took them back home. The drinks itself was really enjoyable and tasty! I loved the added extra taro. It was nice addition to my milk tea. Plus I was able to change my milk to oat milk. So I went to Arcadia location and just out of curiosity asked if they also own Diamond Bar. Ah I still remember the days that Sunright was "Hot and New" in Diamond Bar, and then they expanded to Costa Mesa and then Irvine as well. The parking here is not the best, but I haven't ever been unable to find parking here. I used to get the matcha red bean smoothie here a bunch but that really became more of a meal than a drink, but at 50% their quality is pretty good. It's a tad sweet at 50% but I get both flavor profiles of the matcha and the red bean here - and you don't even have to ask "Sunright or Omomo matcha red bean" because the answer is so obvious. Then I decided to move on to their cheese foam series and I've been stuck going back and forth for five months. I've went back and forth with their jasmine cheese foam 50% sugar and their white peach oolong at 50% sugar. Their jasmine is sharp and fragrant, and the cheese foam is so vibrantly smooth; tbh if they had the cheese foam by itself I might be able to drink that LOL. A welcome mix here. For their white peach oolong, it's a deeper taste so the contrast of white peach and it being a light flavor with the oolong being more of a darker black tea, makes a great match here. They have a one free topping with Yelp check in so make sure you go ahead and use it! I've gone through a couple of their loyalty programs that I think the current one is tied to your credit card/phone number. Initially it was a stamp system they had in-store tied to your amount of drinks ordered, then it changed to email, and now finally they've settled on a stamp card system tied to price. They may or may not take a while when there's a huge order (I've seen someone have 50 drinks once) so this is widely variable. I've waited between 5 or so minutes to 30-35 minutes so good luck! I really liked how you can adjust the sweetness to your liking. The drink is a "smoothie" so it has a slushy consistency that is thicker than your usual milk tea. It tasted almost like ice cream to me, and is definitely worth a try if you enjoy the matcha/red bean combo. My friends also ordered the fresh taro smoothie ($5.25) and the jasmine cheese foam ($4.75) with honey boba. (Check-in on Yelp for a free topping!) Before I get to my thoughts, I'll qualify that I'm not a boba connoisseur. I usually get basic milk teas from Lollicup but I'm trying to expand my palate and level up with my boba consumption. I was intrigued by their menu and the great reviews. However, I was supremely disappointed with the drinks here. It wasn't your traditional, run of the mill drinks. I like the convenient of ordering on the phone through yelp and they just text you when your drinks is ready to be picked up. Or you can just walk in the store and order on their ipad looking thing. Drinks usually come out pretty quickly unless they are super swamped. Anyway my fave is the Creme Brulee Boba Milk. Just a right amount of sweetness with the creamy creme brulee while you sip. This is my 250th review in my first year on Yelp so this has to be extra special. To begin I'm torn between this place or JA Jiaozi, the rave in OC, but in the end I feel this place is slightly more special. What makes this review even more unique is that I rarely review drink places because I'm not as crazy about drinks unless they contain alcohol. Lol On a serious note, Sunright is definitely RIGHT for me and my kiddos. To quote my 12-year-old girl who started me on Yelp, "daddy, this is definitely a 5-star!" To quote my almost 2-year-old via body language, "daddy, give me some of that sweet water!" He and his mom would probably give this place 6 stars because they actually have a high chair for him-- which I'm sure all babies and their parents appreciate. So far we've had the following drinks here: 1) Sunright boba milk tea, 2) Sunright boba milk tea with grass jelly, 3) taro boba milk, 4) red bean boba milk, and 5) jasmine cheese boba. All of them met the satisfaction of my kids. Maybe jasmine cheese boba came in last on our list but it still exceeded expectation. On a separate note regarding customer service, I spilled my drink while babysitting my little one. And guess what the management did? They replaced the drink for me-- free of charge. We just finished dinner and wanted to get some boba afterwards so luckily Sunright was open til 10 pm so we didn't have to rush over before closing time. I found I like Sunright's mango milk tea more than their fruit teas so I stuck with that order, at 50% sweet and easy ice. Their normal size is 22 oz. I asked if they can make the drink and pour it in my reusable tumbler and they were good with that, so I appreciate them supporting sustainability efforts! I wish I lived closer to this place! It's located in a plaza with a few Korean restaurants and parking isn't bad at all. The shop is quite spacious but there's not that much seating. I think they could better use the space with adding more tables/seating for the customers. All the workers were very friendly and helpful. Everything on the menu looked so delicious, but I finally decided on trying the oreo brulee boba milk and the grapefruit jasmine tea. Both of these options tasted high quality and delicious! My only complaint is that I felt half my drink was boba and the boba was kind of on the mushy side, so it would be nice if they had less boba in there so I could enjoy the drink more. read more
