Can't really give this place any higher than three star rating. The milk tea is just like any other milk, tea places. One main reason why I'm not giving display to any higher rating than three is on their overhead menu, it shows their dirty Okinawa milk tea with crumble of Oreo cookies and Boba pearls. I've been here ever since I was a kid and it hasn't changed one bit. The price has definitely gone up but the quality and taste of the boba and milk tea is still the same. The milk tea is slightly sweet but not powerful enough to hide the tea. The boba is chewy and the brown sugar syrup adds a little bit extra to the drink itself. I've been coming here for a while. It felt like its time I should review this spot. I've been coming here since it first opened up. This is my favorite tea spot and the best by far (In my opinion). If you come here on the weekends it can be a challenge to find parking. There pearls here are soft and chewy and always on point. The service is very fast and straight to the point lol. I've been a loyal customer of Fantasia on Barber Lane in Milpitas for over 20 years, but after today, I will definitely not be returning. My daughter went into the store to place an order and came back to the car in tears. She told me the man with glasses, who appeared to be the owner was busy talking to another customer while taking her order. He ended up charging her for a small instead of the large size she requested. When she politely told him she wanted a large, he repeatedly raised his voice, blamed her for "not listening," and rudely demanded an extra dollar to upgrade the size. I've experienced his rudeness before, but continued coming back because of the excellent service from the Mexican barista. However, this incident crossed the line. My daughter is only 14 years old and does not deserve to be yelled at or treated disrespectfully. She even tipped them before this happened, and afterward she told me the tip felt like a complete waste. After this experience, our family will be boycotting this location. However, the cashier informed us that the size upgrade would only be allowed if we ordered two drinks. I explained that this was our third drink overall, but she insisted the strictness to apply within a single transaction urging us to buy another drink, something not specified anywhere in the rewards terms. Additionally, we were told that a cup for water with a lid costs $0.75. I understand the economy is tough but this attitude and inflexibility with a small reward was dissappointing. SERVICE (2/5 stars): The owner was very short-spoken and snappish when my aunt ordered her drink. She said she wanted "a cold drink" as she was eyeing their menu. He replied in a snippy manner, "Cold what? You need to tell me the drink first. I have to enter the drink (into the register) before everything else." Maybe the owner was not having a good day but my aunt is 91 years old and it was her birthday - you have to maintain a level of patience and hospitality in running a retail business servicing a broad demographic customer base. AMBIANCE/VIBES (3/5 stars): Very small seating area inside and outside, and even with 2-3 parties in line, it can feel crowded inside. My coworkers and I used to come here a lot 20+ years ago when tea shops weren't as prevalent as they are today. As good as I remember. The Jasmine hit the spot on a hot day and was fragrant but had a strange after taste, not as fragrant as say Molly Tea however. We ordered 3 drinks: - Muddy Okinawa Green Milk Tea ($6.95) from the brown sugar milk tea menu - White Peach Sunset ($6.45) - Oak Wood Roasted Mocha ($5.95) Honestly, I wasn't impressed with any of the drinks. There was one worker and surprisingly all 3 drinks came out very quickly, but that could also be why nothing was special. The price is for the regular size drink as well which is pricey, especially if you add any toppings. We got less sweet for all the drinks and they weren't sweet, but the flavor was weak and tasted watered down. If I had to choose, the white peach sunset was probably the best. This Fantasia location is in the Milpitas Square plaza. Parking may be hit or miss here, as this is a pretty busy plaza, especially on weeknights and weekends. Very convenient spot, so I frequent here when I am in the area or plaza, but not the most friendly service each time, so almost makes me not want to come back, as I do not feel welcomed here. I usually order a jasmine milk tea with boba and grass jelly at either 75% or 100% sweetness and 50% ice. Usually it tasted pretty decent and I would enjoy my drink, as it has a good creaminess and slight bitterness to it (when the female employee or older guy makes it). The last visit, a different guy made my drink and it tasted only like 25% sweetness and it was super bitter, but I already left, so I just had to take the L and go somewhere else after. read more

It would be fine, except it's seven dubloons for what is essentially watered down guava juice with a shot of sugar. There are no solids in the drink. Fantasia has been around for a long time, and this is its best location. I used to get the jasmine milk tea here growing up, but when I tried it again, I was really unimpressed. However, the fruit teas are pleasantly refreshing here! Prices are reasonable at about $5-6 for a regular sized drink, depending on what you get of course. This spot gets really busy during the day because people come here after lunch! The boba itself here is amazing and is consistently cooked well. HONEY LIME GREEN TEA: 4.5/5 ($6) Refreshing, sweet, and citrusy! I can drink this at any season, day and night. I get this without the aloe to save 50 cents. 25-50% sweetness is perfect for this. I recommend half or less ice since the default essentially fills the entire cup. This is one of the manager's specials and is also my mom's favorite drink here. MANGO GREEN TEA: 4.25/5 (~$5) Love how you can see the mango chunks in this! A bit sweet at 50% so I recommend getting 25% (unless you have a sweet tooth).
