Clementine's has been around for a long time. My buddy George F. found out that they're now under new ownership. Curious to see if any changes were made to the restaurant or its menu, we met here for brunch on 10/04/2025. Upon entering at around 10:30am, we were immediately greeted and seated by the staff. The interior was clean, and the only change I noticed was they replaced the booths with tables. The menu was pretty much the same as before, with some new items added to it. George opted for the Baja Fish Tacos and I got the Meat Lover's Omelette. In addition to the food, we also ordered a couple beverages. Our order didn't take long to arrive. My omelette was made with bacon, sausage, ham, and a medley of chopped vegetables and it tasted pretty good. The accompanied Cajun seasoned country potatoes were pretty pedestrian. George gave me one of his tacos and it was delicious. The deep fried catfish used was crunchy on the outside and moist and flavorful on the inside. Service we received was very good. The staff member were attentive and efficient. The restaurant biz is challenging these days so hopefully the new Clementine's will be able to find its footing. Based on this experience, I believe a 4-star rating is justified. read more

I have been a regular customer at Clementine's and have supported the restaurant over time, so I was disappointed by how this situation was handled. After an issue involving a former bartender who recently left the restaurant, I was informed that I was still not welcome at Clementine's. My understanding is that the decision to keep me 86'd was based on allegations involving an incident at another restaurant where this employee previously worked. I disagree with how that situation has been characterized and feel that my perspective was never given fair consideration. I am also concerned that my previous complaints and reviews about my experiences were viewed negatively rather than as legitimate customer feedback. My intention was never to cause problems, but to share my honest experiences and concerns as a customer. I believe my feedback was valid and should have been considered as an opportunity for improvement. What concerns me most is that, even after the employee involved left, the decision remained unchanged. I hoped there would be an opportunity for an open and reasonable conversation, with all sides of the situation reviewed fairly. I have always valued supporting local businesses, and it is disappointing to feel that a long-time customer can be dismissed based on information I believe is incomplete or inaccurate. I hope management will consider the importance of hearing all perspectives and addressing customer concerns in a fair and professional manner. When I walked in, I wanted to wash my hands so I asked where the restroom was and the host told me they didn't have any restrooms that I would have to go to the gas station across the way. I've only been to Clementines once and that was for Shrimp & Grits. After enjoying Shrimp & Grits on the East coast I found Clementine's version Sub Par. Reading reviews it pretty obvious those who posted likes haven't had this dish back East. Meet some long time friends in San Ramon and they brought us to Clementine's for lunch. No wait for five when we walked in and it wasn't very crowded inside. Nice that we were able to sit for almost two hours to eat and just catch up with friends. Did not realize we were giong to a cajan soul food restaurant. Pretty big menu with lots of choices on the menu. I decided to have the Cajun Burger medium rare with cottage red potatoes as the side. My burger was like any other burger, nothing special but good. The cottage fries were very crispy; maybe a tad too crispy! Service was very good and we were able to sit for a very long time chatting and we never felt that they rushed us to leave. "Always a pleasure!" It's been a few years since I've been here, but the service and the food is just as good as always. After a hard workout at the gym, I came here for liquid refreshment. I had originally planned to stop by Sunday morning for breakfast: beignets with eggs and sausage. As I was running late, I ended up getting a Twice Baked Pistachio Berry Croissant and a Matcha Latte at a spot near home. After playing a round of golf at Canyon Lakes, I decided to order some beignets for my drive back home. Ordering on the phone was very easy and my order was ready when I arrived. My 3 piece ordered ended up with 4 pieces, so I thought I had lucked out. Unfortunately, all 4 pieces were pretty disappointing. They were not the soft, pillowy fried dough pieces that I had been accustomed to getting at other places (e.g. Downtown Disney, Disneyland, Cafe du Monde, etc.). Clemtines was a staple in my life it was one of the places I could go to in the neighborhood I knew familiar faces and the food was good ; the service was good and Momo in the bar area was awesome . The best thing ever was the live music how could you beat that ! First Fridays with Larry Vann and his band brought everyone out he is the best he had the place jumping ! I wished we had more than first Fridays ! He brings everyone together to enjoy good food and great company! He allowed nearby musicians to play with band and showcase their talents. 4/5 Walked into Clementine's with my parents and before we could even get settled, the gentleman greeting us hit us with a confident "Hola." Now, some people might be offended that he took one look at us and correctly assumed Spanish was the move. Personally, I wasn't offended at all. In fact, I was relieved because I didn't really feel like speaking English that day anyway. We were seated quickly and the service was excellent from start to finish. The staff worked together so smoothly that it felt less like a restaurant and more like a relay team passing the baton. One funny thing: water apparently operates on a request-only basis. My mom asked for one and received it immediately. The rest of us sat there watching her hydrate like it was an exclusive membership program. Not a complaint, just an observation. Now let's talk about the coffee. I've never seen a coffee cup monitored this closely in my life. I spent a solid minute carefully crafting the perfect balance of coffee, creamer, and sugar. I took maybe three sips. Three. Before I knew it, my cup was being topped off again. At one point I started drinking faster just to see if I could get ahead of the refill schedule. I could not. I wasn't ordering coffee anymore. I was participating in an ongoing coffee subscription service that I had apparently been enrolled in without my knowledge. Was I slightly annoyed that my carefully engineered coffee ratio kept getting reset? Yes. Was it also proof that they were paying attention and taking care of us? Absolutely. The food was great, the staff was friendly and professional, and every time it seemed like we might need something, somebody magically appeared. I ate dinner at Clementine's tonight the first time In a while, and my boyfriend and I were very disappointed. I had the barbecue shrimp skewers and the bacon was overcooked and the coleslaw was dry as a bone. My boyfriend had the catfish that used to be good, it he said it was terrible and so was his macaroni and cheese and dry coleslaw. Finally got to try this place after being recommended their hush puppies by my best friend and his girlfriend. However, this trip, I brought my fiancé and his friend. When we got to the restaurant, we were seated pretty quickly. Good start. After getting seated, got to check out their menu which is pretty extensive. After a good long while of checking out their menu, no one showed up. There were waitresses cleaning tables near us but then straight up disappeared. Normally I'm not the type of rush people, but it became so awkwardly long that we had to flag down someone. So...extremely slow service... Eventually, after flagging a waitress down, we finally could order. I decided to order their Cajun salmon, a cup of gumbo, and their hush puppies. My fiancé ordered their jambalaya and Clem's Mac. His friend ordered their shrimp po'boy with a side of red beans and rice. Drink wise, I just ordered their hot chocolate. So the food on the other hand was good. The hush puppies were good alongside the dipping sauce. My salmon was cooked to perfection. The rice probably could've had more flavor to it given it was "dirty rice." But the giant portion of fish was awesome. The Cajun vegetables were pretty good. Nothing special, just your normal vegetable medley. But the seasoning was pretty good. Hot chocolate was alright, nothing to write home about. My issue with the menu and the food? Only a couple of items on the menu are listed as spicy or could have their spice level adjusted. Yet the gumbo which is unmarked on their menu was spicier than the jambalaya. I did get to taste it but it was just too spicy so I forfeited it to my fiancé. My fiancé's friend said that as far as spice goes, the red beans and rice were spicy too which again, he's fine with. But it's just unmarked on their menu. So all in all, glad I got to try the place. Friends invited me to a last minute lunch and I really wanted to love this place but it fell a little short. Pros: easy parking, lots of eating, cute old school diner vibe. Service: service was a bit slow. It did seem a little busy since it was lunch time but the time it took to put our orders in and be checked on every so often was too long. I had to ask for a coffee refill 3 times and by 3rd time I just gave up on it. The food did come out fast tho. Sampler: had wings, fried green tomorrows, wings, okra. It all tasted a little bland, the okras were a little too slimy and I let spitting out hard pieces of it. The fried green tomatoes were the best thing. Oyster po boy: my favorite po boy is from Brenda's and this does not come close. It was too mushy, didn't taste fresh, and again I had to spit out a rubbery piece. I just hosted a Baptism reception here and it went great! We had ~80 guests including children. We were able to reserve the back half of the restaurant and do a buffet style service. Working with Eliasib to plan and host the event was super easy and straight forward. The restaurant was cost effective compared to other venues we looked at. They just got new floors and new interior paint which looked great, and they're planning more renovations and updates. Food was good! Fried chicken was the hit my guests kept coming back for and they enjoyed the fried green tomato's, corn bread, jambalaya, vegetables, Mac and cheese and chicken fingers for the kids. We were able to bring our own desserts and have an extra table to use as a dessert table and hang a banner using blue tape. The servers were also very good and took care of my party. The new management has missed the mark. We have typically gone for dinner at Clementine's perhaps once a month. Today we brought my father-in-law for dinner. My father-in-law always raved about the French onion soup - not the case this time. The recipe has been changed so much the soup was horrible. I ordered the blackened steak - supposedly 12-ounce steak. I ordered a medium rare steak - I received a very thin steak cooked medium with lots of fat. The website showed the steak cost of $30.00 - I was billed $34.00. The servers at Clementines are the same staff - that is the only positive from this dining experience. The staff was friendly and helpful enough.
