Good fast food and service. Prices are good. Right in Dewey Beach. Kitchen is spotless with a plexiglass view. Food came out in 3 minutes steaming hotter then when I make it at home. Eggs, homefries, and toast $7.50. Nice thick cooked homefried potatoes. Ham was $3.50 but was a full thick slice. Coffee was $2.50 and they even offer you a to go cup. My family and I walked in, seated ourselves right away, and had our food in front of us in 15 minutes. Extremely fast service and nice staff! "No frills" indeed. Our visit, a little before 8 AM, was pleasant; only a few tables were occupied and the staff was friendly and attentive. By the time we left, approximately 30 minutes later, several additional tables had filled in. My girlfriend ordered the greek omelette; aside from the spinach being whole leaves, not chopped, she liked her choice. I had sausage, bacon, and breakfast potatoes; the meats were the standard fare you'd find at any diner across the country, and the potatoes were pretty good, neither bland nor over seasoned. We didn't have the coffee, and we passed on the hot tea as the selection was limited to plain black tea. Instead, we both ordered cranberry juice. It's worth noting how quickly our food arrived: we barely blinked and the server was back, hot meals in hand. The prices were reasonable, comparable to what we pay for a breakfast near our home; our check came in at just under twenty-five dollars. The back of the menu contains a favorable review from a local reviewer which repeatedly states "no frills", with which I would completely agree. If you're looking for a quick, simple breakfast at a reasonable price the Sunrise Restaurant is worth checking out. read more

We were staying at an inn nearby but wanted to hang out with our friends so we chose to have breakfast here. It was easy for us to find 2 tables next to each other to accommodate us and the small children. The pancakes were so ginormous that I ended up eating the leftovers from my husband's chocolate chip short stack for breakfast the next day. The omelettes are huge and the cook makes sure that there is a nice distribution of the fillings. For me, I kind of wish that the food had more butter, but I tend to lean indulgent when it comes to greasy spoons. Be alert that they might have limited hours during the off season. read more

The plain-ol' breakfast was pretty expensive although fairly comparable to other options in the area. The problem is that the quality of the food wasn't awesome. My husband's "scrambled eggs" were actually a plain omelet folded over and not cooked all the way. My coffee was served in a shot glass and not that good. Went there to pick up sandwiches for the trip home yesterday. It's a standard beach town breakfast shop so I wasn't expecting anything fancy. The food was decent, ordered the cheesesteak and it was actually pretty good. The only thing I will say is that they aren't the nicest bunch behind the counter. We're not in Dewey often, and we usually head to Starboard, but the Harley Davidson convention had taken it over and we came to Sunrise instead. Wow, we had been missing this! I had a hamburger ($5.75) and a large chocolate milk, and it was pure heaven. The burger was perfect in every way - the best I have ever had. It was done and juicy, but not dripping fat. The lettuce, onion, and tomato were crispy and fresh and tasted like they should. The bun was crispy on the surface, fresh and fluffy inside. Amazing. My family ordered french toast, omelets, and stuff and pronounced them all excellent. I helped them finish it up, and it was all good. All this was served outside in the sun by the lovely Tamela on a beautiful fall afternoon. What more do you people want? read more
