    Pub burger
    Alice C.

I really wanted to like this place - it was packed on a Wednesday night and took 45 minutes to get a table for 5 so I had high hopes but the food was mid to not great at best. Two orders of burgers - 1 pub version and another kids order was totally overcooked and almost charred to the point of inedible. Fish and chips were over battered and greasy. Hot honey chicken sando had a soggy bun, overdressed coleslaw and very little chicken - again, overbattered. Our son's friend seemed to like the Rueben but ended up in the bathroom for a bit after he got home so not sure if it was as good as he thought. We also started with some garlic parmesan chicken wings that were crispy but had little flavor. And for some reason, the entire dish underneath the chicken was wet and soggy. It's clearly a beloved restaurant in Sunriver but just wished the food was a bit better. Service was lovely and attentive, which we appreciated on such a busy evening.

The service that we received was great from Sunriver Brewing considering we were a party of 9 with no reservation. Within 20 minutes, our table was ready and we were seated with drinks and menus in-hand. The food came out exceptionally quickly. We were all served 10-15 minutes of ordering even though the place was somewhat busy (we dined in 3 PM on a Friday). We ordered the steelhead sandwich, three wagyu sliders, bacon brew burger (3), pretzel burger (2), grilled chicken sandwich, mac and cheese, and brewhouse salad. The steelhead sandwich I ordered, I thought, was pretty good, and the people in my party were satisfied with their food too, until someone noticed some pink in their burger. The meal was delicious, but the next day, everyone who had eaten a burger had food poisoning for the next 4-7 days. We believe that they had salmonella. Our suspicion is that the chef handled the beef right after the chicken, and the beef had not reached a high enough temperature to kill the bacteria from the chicken. Safe food handling should be the most important priority in any kitchen. As great as the meal and service was, it is a bummer that 5/9 of my party was sick for the next few days.

Friendly service. My daughter and uncle got the Wagyu sliders and loved them. My son asked for the Wagyu sliders but with all of the toppings subbed out for standard cheeseburger toppings- the waitress smartly suggested he get the kids sliders meal and they'd do 4 sliders instead. He was happy with that! I got the gluten free pub burger and subbed fruit for fries. My bun was so toasted I had trouble eating it and my gums are cut up now. I assume they toasted the heck out of it so it wouldn't disintegrate with all the liquid they put on it (I had a white puddle under my burger by the time I finished). The fries were also super crunchy. And the bacon on my burger was too! 4 stars because I was the only one in my party not happy with my meal.

This is the original location of the now famous and excellent Sunriver Brewing. Years ago this spot in the shopping area housed a small brewing system and bar, the bones of which you can still see near the restrooms. This was a super popular spot! Every table and bar seat were taken, with lively ambience. The bartenders were hard working and so attentive. There's a merchandise area near the entrance, which also has a bunch of canned and bottled beer to go but not as much as other locations. You can walk here from the nearby resort, making it a safe space to imbibe. It's a quick drive from the area as well. Their beer is fantastic, with large pints and clean glassware. It's well worth the visit to see where this place all began!

Sunriver Brewing never disappoints! Try my favorite Beer - nitro cocoa cow For Food - my favorite is currently the honey fried chicken sando with tomato bisque soup on the side. The servers are always nice and attentive. They also had lots of tvs on so perfect spot to still watch the final four while getting some food and beverages

Four stars for Sunriver Brewing Company out here in beautiful Sunriver where the pine trees stand tall and the beer flows like good intentions. We rolled in on a recommendation, which always feels a little like being set up on a blind date. "Trust me," they said. And you know what? The place is nice. Real nice. Warm wood, good vibe, the kind of atmosphere that makes you sit up straighter and pretend you know something about hops. Service? Solid. Friendly. Attentive. Nobody disappeared into the back never to be seen again. Always a plus. My wife ordered a Brew house salad with chicken that she described as "very yummy," which in wife-language translates to: I would order this again and tell my friends about it. That's high praise. Meanwhile, I ventured into quinoa territory. Now I'm pretty sure it was meant to be cold... but it hit the table so chilled I thought it had just come back from skiing Bachelor. A little heat on that bad boy and we might've been in business. Then there was the mac and cheese. Ah yes. The mac. It had that bold, burnt-garlic-on-top energy. A little crispy crown of cheese, which I respect. But underneath? Not much going on. It was like opening a treasure chest and finding a polite suggestion of treasure. Not very juicy. A bit of a macaroni mirage. So here we are: good service, nice setting, one winning salad, one confused quinoa, and a mac that tried its best. Middle-of-the-road food, but a pleasant ride nonetheless. Four stars. I still don't know what they're famous for but I'd go back to find out.

Sunriver Brewing company is about 2 minutes from were we were, and decided to do take out. I had the mushroom & cheese pizza which was very good and tasty with lots of mushrooms. My wife ordered the fish & chips, but said the French fries were very salty and had to put it in a colander to shake off the salt. She said the fish was okay, but she didn't finish the French fries and the fish, but said the tartar sauce was good and tasty and Chucky. The spicy chicken wing was okay, but for some it was too spicy. The Sunriver beer was very good and tasty

Great beer and friendly clientele! The heat wasn't working so we all kept our jackets and hats on but they warned us with signs before we came in. I sat at the bar solo for a Turtle In the Clouds hazy IPA. Very good! I then moved to a table with friends. The sliders were just ok. I'd come back after their renovations!

Located in the Village, this is a popular and casual brewpub with a great taplist and food options. Our server, Adam, was very attentive and friendly. Really appreciated his help! I got the Quinoa Bowl with Grilled Chicken and really enjoyed it. Very generous on the portion and the chicken was super tender. The abundance of grilled veggies really added to the bowl too.

Came here for dinner on a Saturday night. The place gets busy very quickly. It's loud but the service was very friendly. There is a small kid area for kids to play at inside. We ordered the blood orange burrata as an appetizer, the elk meatloaf, and fish and chips. All the food was delicious. Despite being busy, the food came out quick. Fun place to eat with laid back vibe. Good beers and cocktails! Will come again!

Food -- For appetizers, we got fried avocado. So good! The best I have ever had. For dinner, I got the chicken sandwich and my husband got the bacon burger. I got fruit instead of fries and hubby got salad instead of fries. Our foot was AMAZING! Beer -- I had the Nitro Cocoa Cow Stout. Hubby had the 13th Anniversary Hazy Double IPA. We would give our beers a 10 out of 10. Service -- Our server was such a cool person and very upbeat. Ambiance -- Happy people all around! Comfy chairs, good view of shoppers out the window. We sat indoors.

First timer! Had a blast! Chance was our server and he was the best. Checked in on us, gave us yummy drinks and gave good suggestions on food! I had the grilled chicken sandwich. You won't be disappointed! I definitely recommend anyone to come here for a chill fun vibe and good food! You will be very lucky if you have chance as your server. Please give him a free meal and a beer for us! Food and drinks came out quick! Thanks so much! Can't wait to go back again :)

After eight years, Crux is overdue for a review update. Biggest reason is that quite a few years…read moreago they expanded the place significantly, opening up the large room to the right of the bar that opens into the outdoor area. That room is equipped with restrooms, relieving one of my major complaints about a lack of facilities, as well as a second serving station complete with taps. Since then, Crux has significantly changed the outdoor area as well although I'm not certain it's an upgrade. It's a little too landscaped and way too much like a playground now. Locals have always tended to refer to Crux as 'daycare but with beer.' The last several times I've come here, the second serving station has not been in operation even though it looks to be still fully functional. Meanwhile the line to the bar serving stations is often long, sometimes almost out the door. Not sure why that is, doesn't make sense to have the capacity to more efficiently serve customers but not use it. All that said, the beer is still stellar and they continue to have a wide range of beer choices, the new(ish) large room has plentiful high-top seating (mobility challenged folks will need to venture outside), and the music is kept below ear-splitting volume. You can also sit at the bar itself although the vibe there isn't great - it's not like a neighborhood pub bar. Crux still has a kitchen. I used to order directly from them but have since transitioned to patronizing one of the several food carts outside. Being food carts, they tend to come and go so I'll not go into detail there. That said, the new Alpine Smash burger is fabulous. The other significant change in recent years has been with the location. A dispute with the property owners to the west resulted in the access road that way being closed, requiring Crux patrons to use the road coming from Second/Scott Street (or ride a bike). The west road is now open, maybe because the Jackstraw housing complex over that way is now completed and the road serves their tenants. RIP Spoken Moto.
