Went last night for dinner after being out of state for a year. Traditionally one of our favorite watering holes it was a bit off last night. I ordered a Viscious and it was a bit flat...maybe the end of the keg? First time I left a brew pub after one beer that I can ever remember. For food we settled on the brewers salad which was absolutely amazing. A bit heavily dressed but served with more toppings than lettuce!! I followed it up with the elk chili which was like warm but delicious. I typically would have sent it back and asked to be heated up but the patrons had been joyously served and were a little too talkative and loud. We just wanted to eat and get out of there. We will be back and hope for a better experience next time. read more

I left here crying. I don't give many one star reviews at all but if I could give zero, I would. I don't care how good the food was. Our server, for absolutely no reason, was the rudest girl I've ever had the displeasure of being served by. Oh my God, she was so bad. My husband and I saw her pass by our table countless times before finally getting us waters. 10 minutes of waiting. No greeting, just "Are you ready to order?" She then slammed our pretzel on the table and never checked in on us. After finishing the pretzel, we were given our entree (Wagyu Sliders) and she didn't even bother to take our empty pretzel plate. The table was tiny, so it was a struggle to find a place for it without it falling off. We had to ask her to remove it. The food would have been great but my appetite had vanished. It was all pretty bland. We didn't get any beer because I just wanted to leave asap. If her goal was to get us out as quickly as she could, it worked. I was going to give myself a couple stays to get over it, but it's been two days and I'm still brooding over it because I don't get what we did that pissed her off so bad or if she was having a bad day and decided to take it out on customers...I'm never coming back here. They were unfortunately out of the one beer I was most excited to try (Shred Head Winter Ale). Bummer but it happens. What's more surprising is they were also out of pickles for the fried pickle appetizer. We were told it had been a "busy day," yet it was only lunchtime. Considering the shelf life of pickles it seems like that's one ingredient you should never run out of. In any case, two relatively minor inconveniences. And the food we actually got was really good. Turkey Melt - delicious. Nashville Hot Chicken - delicious. Where this place ultimately lost stars was with the service. Our server was timely enough taking our order but after we got our food he didn't come back to check on us until everything was gone and we'd grown tired of waiting to order another round of drinks. It appeared to be an average lunch service; the place was full but with little to no wait to get seated. There also appeared to be plenty of staff on duty so I'm not sure what the issue was but had he been more attentive we likely would've ordered more and he'd have found himself with a higher tip associated with a bigger bill. All in all, not a deal breaker. The food was good enough to bring me back and hopefully they were just having an off day with the service. Guess we'll have to wait and see. read more

Oh man! This place is just wonderful! I tend to visit Sunriver often and always make it a point to stop here. My most recent waiter was Chance and he was great! Super nice and friendly. I am recently gluten free and I wasn't sure how well I would be able to do with that on this trip. (After having some pretty terrible gluten free buns I was running scared) but this place did NOT disappoint! I split the hit honey chicken sandwich with a gluten free buns and it was utter perfection. The chicken was crispy and crunchy and didn't have any yucky bits. And the hot honey glaze was just....ugh so yummy and flavorful. And this gluten free buns was....top two gluten free buns for me I've ever had out. It didn't fall apart, actually tasted like bread, and was toasted! (Why do restaurants never think to toast gluten free buns?!) I also tried their cranberry blue cheese bacon salad and it was scrumptious! Being not a fan of blue cheese I ordered feta and it was the perfect switch in my book. Perfect mingle of flavors and textures. The dressing was also amazing. Not too thick and not too runny and had a perfect zing! Will be back again! read more

Whenever I visit Bend (and that is yearly) I stop by SunRiver brewing. But, it has always been the Galveston location. I have wanted to stop by the SunRiver location for years and finally got my chance. The place was crowded when I arrived, but seeing as I was dining alone, was able to skip the line and get seated immediately. My server was attentive and friendly, and quickly took my order (pulled pork sandwich and a delayed beer). The food showed up after a reasonable wait and the beer followed without needing to remind. Everything looked good and tasted even better. I've glad I checked this box, and will continue to make SR a stop on my annual pilgrimage...but to the Galveston location (since it is right there in Bend). read more

A classic in the Sunriver area. Nice spacious interior with that warm, busy brewery/pub feel. Service is great, and lots of classic food options like burgers, pretzels, and more. Tried out the elk chili this time, came with a side cornbread muffin. Very tasty, hearty, flavorful, and had a bit of heat. Come hungry! read more

Had a big group of 8 and they were able to get us all in relatively quickly despite being a holiday weekend. They were also able to split the bill 8 ways which was super convenient. I'm not a huge drinker but all my buddies seemed to love the beer selection on tap. I had the hot honey fried chicken sandwich which was really good. Could've been a little bigger; but the flavor was great and the fry was perfect. Very nice atmosphere; good beer; good service. However, maybe the worst wings I've ever had. Deep fried with no flavor. A big mistake ordering them. Sliders are allegedly a popular choice, and there was effort put into them, but they just were mediocre. Rating is really a 2.5 but the wings were so bad I'm rounding down. Mistakingly thinking I could avoid the extreme valley heat, I rode over the Cascades to the resort community (and tourist trap) of Sunriver to eat at the very popular Sunriver Brewing Co. The mac with five cheeses was very good, though a large portion served sizzling hot. Their Italian pils beer was very good and one of the few beers that was under 6% alcohol. There were high tables, regular tables and in and out seating in the "village" area with various shops and services. The staff were efficient and helpful. read more

Omg improve everything!. Ugh. A dip sandwich, no dip provided. Thanks a lot. Tomato bisque soup, huge cup but not even a quarter full and you might want to put the croutons in the bag instead of letting them get soggy in the soup, (that I also had to heat up). My family member had fish and chips that had no flavor, like watered down and soggy. Poorly cooked. Fries have no seasoning at all and nothing provided in the bag as far as condiments, plastic ware, no napkins, no seasonings, not even salt and pepper. I offered to give half of my sandwich to my family member bc the fish was unpalatable. Yeah, guess you could say we are picky, but it seems like common sense on how to treat a takeout customer. There was so much steam in the box it left tons of water in the box. It seems like they microwaved everything and the hostess couldn't be bothered to check on quality. The black haired female hostess who "helped" us did not offer anything as far as any of the above. People are desperate if they think the food is worth the price. It was actually one of the worst experiences we've ever had. The bread on my sandwich literally got hard as I wrote this review. We couldn't even finish half the sandwich. read more

Where is the flavor? Caesar salad dressing was like mayo. Croutons had no seasoning. Mac n cheese was void of taste as well... not a hint of garlic, salt or pepper. Came here for lunch on our arrival day. I ordered the flight to drink which was 6 beers and boy was I not ready. Refer to my picture for the beers I ordered. Surprisingly, the stout was my favorite. I haven't drank stouts in a minute but this one was unbelievably smooth and light and somehow managed to have the strongest and most delicious flavor of chocolate. If I get a single beer next time, it'd be the stout. My least favorite was the peach farmhouse ale. I don't think I like fruity beers at all. The others were just okay and very similar, not sure id order those solo. To eat, I had the burger and fries with a side of aioli. Oh my, this was also an unexpected yummy meal. It was so good! I'd give it a 5/5. Also tasted the pretzel with the beer sauce: 5/5. Honestly if it weren't for the fact I need meat with all my meals, I'd just have eaten the pretzel alone; the bread was so so soft and melted in your mouth. So our food took an insane amount of time to come out and they comped part of our meal. The thing is our server was super up front about it which threw me off a bit (in a good way). She straight up told us that our meal had been forgotten. Which, im ngl, is a first. Im always suspicious that that's the reason delays occur but most people make up excuses. She was just straight up about it but in an apologetic way. And I really appreciated that. Somehow I still felt the service was 5/5 despite waiting nearly an hour to eat. This is a popular and busy restaurant, so be expected to wait 30-60min at peak hours! Inside is bustling and has a corner for kids to play. The chicken sandwich was delicious and the hot honey wasn't very hot but brought a dimension of flavor that was well-liked. Loved this local pub. A great selection of beers on tap. Had the oatmeal stout, nitro stout that tasted like chocolate milk and a local pale ale. The pomegranate mule was delicious with a nice heat at the end from the ginger beer. Service was fantastic. Our server came by to take our order quickly but was happy to come back since we couldn't decide. She checked back often which I always appreciate. Ended up getting the beer pretzel with a yummy cheese sauce on the side. Tasted homemade. We also had the brew house salad. One of the best I've had! So many toppings and a huge size. I'm a big fan of stout beers -- like, it's the only type of beer that I enjoy -- so I really wanted to try someplace in Sunriver that had really good dark beer, and I hit the jackpot with Sunriver Brewing Co. The Nitro Cocoa Cow is seriously *the best beer* that I have ever had -- perfect for my tastebuds. It was creamy and smooth, with a rich dark chocolate base. To accompany the beer, I got the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich and fries. The chicken was crispy and delicious, and my tastebuds were dancing. The bun didn't hold up the best, but there was a lot going on there. The fries were perfectly crisp on the exterior, yet fluffy inside. Yum. The atmosphere is lively and loud, and the servers did a good job of managing the busy room. Would go back in a heartbeat. read more

This place was crackin on a Sunday night at 6pm (Sunday before President's Day). When checking in we were told that it would be a 45 minute wait. Because my husband is fasting, I didn't want to wait that long for a table. So I asked the host about placing a to go order. She recommended that I do so online because it would be faster. So we stepped outside and I placed the order online. The website said that my order would take 50 minutes! So we decided to walk around the village to kill time. But about 20 minutes later I received a text that my order was ready so we picked it up and headed back to our hotel room. Anytime we have visited Sunriver we always have a meal at Sunriver Brewing. Our first slightly disappointing experience. Restaurant was out of 3 menu items, our water glasses were never refilled and the beers we drank were not ice cold. On a hot day that is an expectation. We were looking forward to great food & good service as we've experienced in the past. Unfortunately, it didn't happen tonight. Staff was stressed & grumpy. The appetizer was not available--okay get over it! Our food came-- wings were cold, the Cubono sandwich had excessive mustard, no pickles, & very limited pulled pork. We also told the waiter we wanted to order takeout at the end of our meal. He brought the order with our food. His comment was, "Well it's here now." We asked for a refill on water-- no response. Sunriver Brewing has great beer. It is my favorite place to eat and drink when we visit Sunriver. Yes, the menu is more expensive than similar places in PDX, but that's a resort town norm. Not every dish is a winner, and one of the specials (Etouffee) from our trip was disappointment in its design (it wasn't burnt, the overwhelming flavor of the whole dish was just gravy). But more-often-than-not, the food is great and the other special we ordered (hot honey chicken sandwich) was really great. So if you are in Sunriver, you should eat here, at least once. And drink here probably more than that. Note for parents - They have a little kids play area. It is greatly appreciated and enables a longer outing with impatient little ones. read more
