Horrific. They were supposed to deliver breakfast to our film set. The woman supposedly charge of deliveries didn't have the order delivered and then lied about it. She claimed she called us (she didn't), that she emailed us (she didn't), and interestingly the order was kept in Seamless as delivered . I assume she needed to make some extra money on the side. When we called to complain they refused to reimburse us and repeatedly hung up on us. I look forward to the high Brooklyn rents putting these creeps out of business. read more

The food is pretty good not the best but good for convenience. The wraps are tasty. The burgers are pretty good too. I've ordered penne alla vodka here but the sauce wasn't right. The sauce tasted and looked like basic tomato sauce. I think they forgot the cream but the dish tasted like regular pasta with sauce. Maybe they're just known for their bagels? I love going to bagel boy in bay ridge but unfortunately as it is too far, they don't deliver. I gave this place a try and ordered an ordinary cold turkey hero using the seamless app. Doesn't specify what kind of turkey or topping I would like, so I put it into the note. $7.50 for a hero (which ended up being really big) and extra for American cheese. When my order arrived the bread was a bit pink so I opened it to exam , I prefer boars head meat so maybe they just do not use this brand as I NEVER had the bread end up pink. I literally disassembled my sandwich and had to scrape off the pink parts (because I was starving at this point) and cook the meat some more. My husband ordered a gyro and it sent him straight to the bathroom. Won't be ordering from here again, I'll keep looking for a neighborhood sandwich shop. read more

I can't with this place. Nevermind the exorbitant prices but how they get delivery times and deliveries wrong this often, I will never understand. Even worse, after two hours spent waiting for your order, you finally call to cancel because you have no time left to spend waiting, you get exactly zero apologies for it. The food isn't bad; they make a pretty good cheesesteak, and the fries are also surprisingly good. The problem lies with the service. Last week I ordered three bagels through grubhub (so I know there's no way I messed up the order when giving it to the restaurant). I live less than a block away, but I had a hangover and didn't want to walk it. 45 minutes later my three bagels arrive, I hand the guy a $20 for my $15 order and go inside to eat. When I opened up the bag I find that the one of the bagels was wrong -- I ordered an egg flagel with chocolate chip cream cheese, but what I got was a regular egg bagel with nutella cream cheese. Normally I would have just eaten it, but a flagel (which is the name for a larger, flatter bagel) costs more, as does the cream cheese they put on it. Essentially, I paid $5 for a $3 bagel. So, I call grubhub, wait on hold, speak to a rep, relay the problem, and am offered the solution of a replacement, a refund, or a credit. The rep says she'll call the restaurant and call me back. I know this is a long review, but I'm trying to really capture the unending annoyance that was involved with this. So, I hang up and wait for my callback. Ten minutes later my phone rings and it's grubhub again, but within 15 seconds the call gets dropped. So I wait five minutes but no one calls back, so I call grubhub again. I, once again, wait on hold, reach a rep, and have to re-explain everything that has happened, including the previous rep calling me back and the call getting dropped. The second rep puts me on hold while he talks to the first rep, and then eventually comes back to tell me that grubhub will refund my money but Sunset Bagels wants the bagel back. Ok, fine, but what am I going to eat? I'm hungry. The rep then tells me he is going to call Sunset Bagels again and will give me a call back with a solution. TWENTY MINUTES LATER the rep calls back. The reason it has taken so long is that the woman answering the phone at Sunset Bagels flatly refuses to refund the difference in price between the two bagels, or even send me what I actually ordered. The rep from grubhub was so apologetic and, frankly, aghast at the response from Sunset Bagels that he just credited my account for the entirety of the cost of the order (minus the tip, since I paid cash). At this point it has been 55 minutes since I received my food and I haven't even started eating it. I'm really hungry, I thank grubhub and hang up. I go back and reopen the bag and take out the other two bagels I have ordered, open up the foil, and find that those two bagels are incorrect as well. They messed up all three bagels. Literally, everything they could have messed up they did. I call grubhub again, the rep is floored by the story I relay, and they give me another $5 credit. And that is why you should avoid this place. TL;DR Sunset Bagels ruined every single part of my order, then spent an hour refusing to fix their error or refund my money. They deliver 24 hours. I mean, that alone is awesome, but their bagels are good. Not only that, they have so much more than just bagels on the menu - you can get pretty much anything from this place. i just tried the late night delivery service--not only was it fast, about 20 minutes in the rain--it was super courteous. the food also totally hit the spot. i got a tosted egg bagel with cream cheese--they put generous gobs in. i also got the waffle fries. perfection. they've got some more complicated things on the menu, which, come on, i think the people who are complaining--do you really expect to get a delicious fresh gyro with premium ingredients delivered in sunset park at 2am? keep it simple, be realistic about your expectations. the service is what is great about this place, and who knows, maybe if we continue to support these folks they can invest in some better quality ingredients--they seem to really care about keeping folks happy and having a snazzy product. read more

Sunset Bagel provides very expensive food that does not live up to its price. You are being overcharged for poor service and bad tasting food. I have ordered from them multiple times and they always forget or mess up one of my items. To add to this when I call back to resolve this problem they respond with attitude and provide no help to resolve their mistake. If this was not the only bagel store in the neighborhood i probably would of never ordered here more then twice. Each time i order i convince myself to give them the benefit of the doubt but every time i am let down , all the way down , rock bottom. When i tell you they manage to mess up the order every time , i literally mean every time. Placing the order i feel like im trying to fill out a form at the dmv the person taking the order is always so confused and dosent understand English . This was our go to spot for delivery. When i would get out of work late. Yes they made mistakes here and there but that is expected when ordering at 1am. This time the mistake was inedible. I tried calling and the girl who took my order was rude and obnoxious. All i wanted was the right order to be delivered and she refused and said they were too busy and can only give me a credit. I explained we can not eat this and now just wanted them to pick up the food and return out money. She also refused that option. Now i feel as if they robbed me of my monies. I will have to put a complaint in with the better business bureau i paid $19.33 and always tip $4 or more. I am not letting this go. The food wasnt bad but a bit on the pricey side. The owner or manager (not regular staff) who was at the register took my order wrong though, I wanted coffee with milk and sugar and he puts milk with no sugar. They also care too much about making money, another manager was reprimanding a worker that he didnt charge an extra $1.50 for cheese on a seamless order out loud. This place is rather abusive. They make you wait ridiculously long at all times. (I've had to wait close to 30 minutes for a pbj sandwich). The food is ok. No complaints about the quality. The prices are rather expensive given the neighborhood. It's what you would expect from Manhattan, but minus the service. They seem to have little management experience as they become completely overwhelmed with less than a handful of customers. I've ordered (and paid) for food in advance in hopes to avoid the long wait, but that doesn't work either. They forget orders. Also, let me clarify that the wait time is long not because they're so busy, but rather because their staff is so new (always changing staff) that they're super slow! I enjoy sunset bagels, its the best place to get a great bagel and an Iced coffee for a decent price. They have great heros and waffle fries. They also have great trash tv playing from time to time , we all love a little trash tv now and then.
