Amaizng well cooked food and service. My good showed up warm, it was huge. It was delicious

What a sea of service you have that you walk from the 53st to the 49th to the 49th to pick up my food because the delivery did not want to make the delivery to arrive from that the haBerger gave it to me without onion without tomato and without lettuce

House Salad Is 99% onions (FYI)

Lunchtime order House salad - asked for no tomatoes but not only are they there the salad is mostly onions. The salad is making me tear up because it's so onion dense. Inedible in flavor as well. Cheddarami sandwich with a side of fries. Get this: they added 5 fries to the sandwich itself. I'm laughing so hard right now. How little care goes into this food - I'm in shock right now. This is the type of spot while you have to watch them ad you make your food. Too much randomness. Silver lining : it's a prepared salad (for about 5$) which is hard to find in this area. Nicely cut and packed. Just not sure about the items inside salad. Maybe I'm being too generous.

A not-half filled protein shake for 6.50 is outrageous. Like usually it'd have a bunch of foam on top so it doesn't look like such so I'd just disregard it despite being able to taste it. I've been in person several times too and the blender consistently has plenty more of the shake, that I paid 6.50 for, just sitting on the bottom meanwhile I sip on the lovely foam

    pieces of plastic

I've honestly had enough of this place! They always mess up my order but its the only place opened late night. I ordered a Banana milkshake, i thought i was drinking pieces of banana in the milkshake but it turned out to be pieces of plastic. I think they blended a plastic fork or spoon in my shake. This is crazy!

Delivery is perfect and the prices of milk and cream is comparable to that in supermarkets.

I had to repeat my order several times and they still screwed it up. I asked for an egg sandwich with butter, I got it with ketchup instead.

Food is good but the prices have become outrageous. Over $4 for a PB&J on toast? Someone update it from $ to $$$$

If you are in the neighborhood, you should pop in and buy something to show your respect. What you should buy is the herring. And specifically, if you happen to be lucky enough to stroll in during Holland Herring season in June/July, that is the herring to get. Even if you just had a giant meat based meal a couple doors down, you can still make room for one herring. Consider it the Jewish equivalent of surf and turf. Although one of my friends said visiting both LES icons was more akin to a "bang bang". Sometimes it's the small shops that make the biggest mark. This is certainly the case with R&D. The place is tiny, but the fish is mighty. I can't speak highly enough about the Holland Herring. So silky. So delicate. So much fun to eat. Held up by the tail, dragged through a mix of chopped onions and pickles, and lowered down into your awaiting mouth. These things are large. They are going to take a few good sized bites. Enjoy the contrast of textures and flavors. Tilting your head back to eat it almost demands that you close your eyes and savor every moment. Yes, the entire herring case is a marvel. While most folks will walk out of R&D with nova (what most people call lox, but is really cold smoked salmon), the real score is the sable and sturgeon. Or, if you are a salt lover, you can get legitimate belly lox here too. It satisfies the soul to see an appetizing store holding the line. Sure, you can put your smoked fish on a bagel or bialy with cream cheese. However, I submit that fish this good should really be enjoyed in its purest form. Maybe if you want to cut the salt, lay some on a thin piece of old world 100% rye bread. Not the squishy deli stuff, but the hard eastern European kind. Perhaps a dolop of sour cream. A few chives if feeling fancy. My old cantor used to love creamed herring with pickled onions on chunks of challah. If you go the herring route and it's not Holland Herring season, I fully endorse this approach. But don't sleep on the Holland Herring. Get one. Eat it on the bench outside or bring it across the street and eat it standing up in the park. I heard rumor that once upon a time folks would eat them right at the counter. That seems a little messy for my taste, but far be it from me to keep a herring lover from their delightful fishy morsels.

It's a pretty spacious bagel spot with ample seating menu's with pricing for all items they sell which is helpful. Food: 3/5 I ordered a jalapeño bagel with turkey bacon, and scrambled eggs. The bagel was okay nothing to rave about your standard bagel. Nothing to make me fave about it. The texture was chewy and a bit doughy if you like your bagels that texture this may be the spot for you. Overall my bagel was about 10-12$ I believe. They charge extra for a rainbow bagel and other specialty bagels like jalapeño. Which is pretty expensive so make sure you're aware of that. Service: 3/5 The customer service was mediocre. The guy at the front wasn't the most pleasant. Very much get you in an out top of place. They weren't rude but not the most cheerful I'd say. Ambiance: 3/5 standers bagel shop nothing really impressive or spectacular. I will say when in the area due to the lack of places to eat that make REAL food. I have come back here and the bagels have been decent. Would like the staff to be more pleasant.
