Service was good...when we arrived (a party of 5) it was a bit busy. We were told that they would seat us but our order wouldn't be taken for about 20mins -- was not an issue for us. Can't give zero stars or i would. We were a group of people who the restaurant knew was coming. waited over an hour for a burger that never came. my husband got his burger before me and everyone at our table got their food and were done eating and I never even received my food. $24 for a burnt dry cheeseburger (ordered medium) and iced tea. Went here for the first time on Thanksgiving since we didn't want to cook. While we got the Thanksgiving meal and nothing from their normal menu, I would still recommend it. The views and service cannot be beat. The manager Jonathan? served us and spent time to discuss the food and history of the location. The owner also stopped by to say hi and was friendly. My partner ordered the fisherman's platter which consisted of a piece of fried fish, three small but tasty conch fritters , shrimp, scallops . Good but nothing special . We've been to the Sunset Grill three times since the new owner took over. Every time to food has been served in a timely fashion and, by the way tasted great. We've prefer the grouper sandwich, grouper Rueben, shrimp salad mango shrimp & scallop dinner. All have been excellent. They have a nice selection of craft beers as well as some very unique specialty cocktails. Also, what was most impressive was that the owner stopped by our table every time to check on us. Finally, please remember that the outdoor seating offers a great view of Lake Jackson. If you haven't been here in a while I would suggest that you give it a try. read more

Passed by here 11/16/24. Only a few cars in the parking lot but we wanted to eat on the water. I was looking for something light so I asked if the soups were homemade...he said no. So, I ordered the "Big BLT". There was nothing big about it. 2 slices of bacon on a untoasted hamburger bun with a few tiny scraps of lettuce and one half dollar size piece of tomato. I should have snapped a picture as I would have been embarrassed to serve it. I had to ask for salt and pepper, waiter brought some back, but salt was empty and he never got around to bringing a fresh shaker when we mentioned it. Also a tiny bit of mayo on one side of bun, waiter never brought extra mayo after I asked. There was 6 of us. We all agreed that it's a nice setting on the lake, but everyone's food was mediocre at best. Service was the same or worse. We will never stop there again... read more

Horrible...food and service. Ordered 2 appetizers, fried shrimp and calamari. Fried shrimp just ok. Calamari was overcooked tasted like rubber bands. One appetizer plate had dried food on it. Told server when she brought entrees (she hadn't checked on us) and she said yes ma'am. Fish and chips again just ok, salmon with pineapple salsa delicious. Shrimp scampi oily, greasy mess. Pasta overcooked and very few small shrimp, nasty tasting. Service non-existent; checked back once when she brought entrees, no refills on drinks, didn't check to see if we wanted dessert. Never got dinner rolls that was supposed to come with pasta. Restaurant was not busy, now I know why. The view is the only thing this restaurant has going for it. read more

Waited 15 minutes to place a drink order, which took another 15 minutes... then waited ANOTHER 15 minutes to order food, which took 40 minutes, and the order wasn't correct, so we had to wait another 15 minutes for a well-done burger. I came here for lunch with my family while on vacation. We were seated right by the water, and during our meal we saw dolphins and a manatee in the distance! Very cool. Our waitress was friendly, knowledgeable, and funny. The service was great, and so was the food! We ordered seared ahi tuna and bacon-wrapped scallops as appetizers; both were delicious. For entrees, we ordered both of the lunch specials (a cod dish with cajun cream sauce and another fish dish that I forget), two grouper sandwiches, fries, a burger, crab cakes, and coconut shrimp. Everyone cleared their plates, and everything was great! This place is a little pricey, but overall, pretty good. My only complaints: the lemonade tasted watered-down, the ahi tuna was a tad too salty, sandwiches come with coleslaw instead of fries, and the bathroom was a little dirty. read more

The waitress was nice. However, everything else was only semi-ok until the bill came out. I had to pay over 50 dollars for two meals and a 2-for-1 margaritas, which were small and not quality at all (mostly watered down by melted ice too). This place must be in financial straights and is expecting their customers to pay more for seemingly all store bought food that's easy to prepare and ask so much more than it's worth based on the fact that they are on the water (which is an only ok view). The salad seemed pre-packaged. The rolls seemed store bought then thrown in the oven with butter on top. The whole meal, including the seafood, which was said to be fresh (at least my 'catch of the day' grouper) all seemed to have little flavor itself and I believe was bought frozen at a store. The portion sizes were very small for the cost. They are ripping off their customers as I see it. I understand it's on the water, and I don't mind paying over 50 dollars for a truly memorable meal with or without a nice setting, but this was just ridiculous. I wish I thought to use that money at the Cheesecake Factory or PF changs or something where my money would have gone to good use. Please don't make my mistake in giving this place a try! read more

atmosphere is great. emma was friendly and efficient. I had the "3 for all". Fish was great, shrimp were very overcooked and the "scallops" (which I dont think were scallops at all) were also very overcooked and very fishy tasting. The side of linguini was perfectly cooked and the fresh parm cheese was a nice touch. My hubs had the fried grouper which he said was so-so but the fries were great and super crispy! The carrot cake is probably the best I've ever had. Would try it once more but would definitely order something else. read more

What a disappointment! We were in town to visit a park to spend the winter next year and saw this local joint. They weren't busy, some locals at the bar, a few tables outside on the deck with a gorgeous water view but we preferred inside and were seated at a table that had not been wiped down when there were a number of other open tables. And it went down hill from there. Ordered the gator tail appetizer and it was nearly flavorless. I got the Grouper sandwich, husband got the salmon and daughter got a Caribeann dish that were all mediocre. Service was meh so we headed to the restroom before heading back. Oh my gosh!! If I had gone there first we would never had stayed to eat. The smell was indescribable, the filth was unimaginable and it appeared the sink and toilets hadn't seen any cleaning since the place was built. We love to support local places over the many chain restaurants we passed to get here but I would not recommend The Sunset Bar & Grille on a bet. read more

Just in the area for 3 days, 2 of which were all day seminars, I looked for a place for a Sunday Bloody Mary. Liquor is not served in Sebring on Sunday before 1 pm, so I looked for a place on the water. The Sunset grill is in town, on the water, and on a highway. It's not fancy by any means, but the Bloody Mary's were very good. The food was good-I had grouper. I ate out on the deck but had to move inside because of the black flies. They didn't seem to bite, but uncomfortable non-the -less. I would eat here again. PS Got the bill -$37.00 for grouper and yellow rice, no rolls(until after 4pm). A cup of chowder (very good), and 1 Bloody Mary. I MAY eat here again. read more

Really nice! So once again we were looking for pet friendly dining for our Louie while we were up in Sebring county for 4th of July with the family. We asked the hotel that we were staying at and also Yelped and decided upon this place. We saw the seating outside and we were apprehensive due to how hot it was outside and also some of the previous Yelp reviews..... We were pleasantly surprised. The outside seating was nice and breezy with a beautiful view and energetic oldies music playing in the background so that all ages could enjoy. We were greeted and served waters in a timely manner by our cheerful hostess. Then we proceeded to look at menus and we were happy to see what there was and also the prices. The previous yelp reviews kind of deterred us, but we ignored them and we were glad that we did. I ordered a jerk chicken salad with mango salsa. My bf ordered the Mango Chicken sandwich, my bf's mom got the Lobster bisque, my bf's sister got fish on top of salad and her bf got the jerk chicken salad too. All of the meals came out together and looked great and tasted delicious. Please give this place a try and take your furry little friend. I took a peak at the inside and it looked like a nice place to have drinks and dine, and the bathrooms were nice and clean too. read more

I have been coming to Sunset Grille on and off for the last 12 years when I visit my parents in Sebring. Never made a reservation but tonight when we went it took 10 minutes to even be addressed then the waitress told us it would be 30-45 minutes... Mind you the place was not even half full. Disappointing as the reason for the wait was they were understaffed with only two waitresses. We left and had a phenomenal meal down the road. read more

The crab cakes are just stuffing. Mine were cold in the center and the kitchen re dipped them in the fryer and sent them back. The house salad was a bit brown. The lobster bisque tastes like Cheeze Wiz is used for the base. If there was lobster in it it wasn't visible to me. The crackers served with it were stale. The lobster fra diablo smelled like garbage. Foolishly, I tasted it and was overwhelmed by the taste of rotten seafood. The servers attitude was combative and the cook walked into the parking lot to give my wife and I the middle finger as we left for a very late dinner at Chillis. read more
