Well my son offered to buy me lunch I wanted Seafood so I suggested sunset crab I haven't been in a while but the last time I had shrimp and crab build your own it came with corn, and potatoes low and behold when I got the menu it was as if I went through the twilight zone, the build your own is a rip off everything is priced separately and priced higher not the same at all, the corn, and potatoes are considered add ons and each one has its own price the the crab was OK but the shrimp wasn't the same as last time this time I had to Devein them who does that I couldn't eat that I just got through fighting my crabs to get the meat out of them and now i have to clean my shrimp I was very disappointed, and considering the shrimp was paid for I bought them home and gave them to my neighbors cat bon appetite they will never see me again this was terrible

    Dookie king crab..

I never cared but listen when I tell you this... 70 dollars for king crabs and 25 dollars for 1/2 pound of snow crabs..... Mexicans should not be making sea food boils and it shows. This location is located in bishop so ofc it would be white washed but this place is TERRIBlE.... Has a 99 cent marg sale but after you taste the food it explains why.. I paid $75 for king crabs, 1 marg and 2 lemon drops. The sauce for the seafood boil was trash. They underscaled the crab leafs and the crab legs were SUPER flimblesy.. has no meat fr and only came with 4 legs.... RIP OFF very disappointed and Highly do not recommend this place to a soul at all.

Corn, sausage, shrimp, snow crab in garlic butter and cajun

Flavor is amazing. I made my own boil with snow crab, shrimp, sausage and corn. I mixed the garlic butter and cajun sauce. The shrimp and sausage had a lot of flavor and the sauce was great. The crab, it was a let down. It was so soft that when you broke it l, it didn't snap in half. It just bent. Had to really fight it to tear the shell. The meat would just shred instantly. It seemed really overcooked. The service is slow but they are really nice. Might just take some time to get their attention.

Absolutely horrible. I came to the store a couple times and food was good so I decided to order some to go tonight and lord have mercy - they did not clean the shrimp! Every single shrimp from my boil had shit in it still, absolutely disgusting, I could barely believe a restaurant would have the audacity to serve this to people. I will not be ordering ever again

Visited 7 January 2023 Our party of 7 (3 adults, 2 teenagers, 2 children) decided last-minute to get seafood boil. After briefly searching Google (I know! I should have crosschecked Yelp!) for something close to downtown Dallas, we settled for Sunset Crab Shack. It was an easy drive, and there was ample parking. We walked in and were seated quickly downstairs. It seemed very small, but there was also outside seating, and we saw stairs so assumingly upstairs seating, too. Off the bat, our waitress, Blanca, seemed disinterested, like she had someplace better to be. We asked for a new paper to spread across the table since the one we met there was already dirty. It took her forever to bring that, forevermore, to get us some water with lemons and another eternity to take our order. Speaking of lemons, we had to ask for lemons 3 or 4 times. Is there a shortage of lemons? She was stingy with the lemons!! When the food finally came, the fries were cold, the snapper was too salty, and the shrimp in the boil was excessively overcooked. The flavor of the boil was good, but the portions are small. We got the second-level heat (hot), and it was mildly hot. The dirty rice was the best thing I had there. The female bathroom has 3 stalls and only 1 handwriting sink. The male bathroom has 1 stall, but it was closed from inside with nobody using it. There is also a sink in the area before the bathrooms. I can't say I'll be back. The service was subpar, and the food is just okay. There are too many other options to choose from.

    Seafood boil bag.

Went with my daughter as it was my last night in town. I'm an Oak Cliff guy (Justin F. Kimball) and like supporting local businesses. It was crowded, but we got seated fairly quickly. I had a vodka martini which was good. We got a boil bag to split. Shrimp, King Crab Legs, mussels and crawfish. The bag came...nice presentation but it was warm not hot. Everything was good not great. The bag was off and for a place going for a Cajun feel, it did not have that feel. From the music to atmosphere. On a scale of 1-10. Sunset Crab Shack gets a 6.

Service is moderate, our seafood boil did take a while to come out yet it was worth the wait, definitely stopping by again!

Such a fun spot! We came on Sunday and service was amazing! Our server was the sweetest, she took really good care of us even though she was busy! Thank you so much for a great experience! All of our food and drinks were PERFECT!! From the Oysters, the ceviche and shrimp cocktail were great! Loved the outdoor seating and all the friendliness! I will definitely be back :)

Oh wow! This hit every spot The Ceviche Tostada was delicious. I waited a bit for the Mix Soup but when it came out, it was steaming hot. It was so yummy and was all gone. My date ordered the Shrimp & Sausage Boil, he enjoyed his food as well. There wasn't much of a wait on a Monday Night. Weekends are much busier. You should try it out!!

Love sunset! The service is really slow & you can expect for your server to not be back. We've been twice since I've been in Dallas and it's happened every time. However, the food is absolutely delicious. As for the ambiance, it's very laid back. Dress in clothes you don't care about you will get messy. The AC doesn't really work well, but it's a fun place to go with family and friends.

It was actually ok, wasn't disappointed. Only thing to nag about is the cocktails, way too sweet and not really good. Over all good food.

Also they were all big with just a few smaller ones. To top it off, having strawberry abita on tap is the perfect match for crawfish so I was extra happy. Saw the bread pudding on the menu and had to get it for dessert. It was warm, chocolate, and ate every bite. I was not told to add grainy sugar into unsweetened tea like I was here. my tour guide was a local woman who's lived in the heart of New Orleans for 63 years, and was shocked and appalled when I read to her what the management of Charlie's Creole Kitchen replied to my critique regarding the Sweet Tea, (lack there of, as well as his belief that it isn't commonplace, or borderline essential) she was shocked in disbelief about as well as the astronomical prices we have to pay as their serving sizes in New Orleans are substantially bigger, for either equal or in some cases even cheaper prices. The roasted red pepper sauce is incredible, and the cheese grits make it a real southern comfort platter. * Chicken, Shrimp & Bacon Corn Chowder (10/10): Truly New England-level quality. An absolute explosion of flavor. * Crab Cakes (10/10): Rich, delicious, and worth every bite. The side salads (3/10) the after thought of the menu, chopped head of lettuce smothered in ranch (or Italian) with one banana pepper, and one slice of tomato that looks like it was suppose to be on a burger, no toppings at all. The oversight of the Sweet-Tea and a decent side salad is for sure a miss. It might fully please Texans, but it left somethings to be desired from a non-Texan southerner. That being said! After a long day in transit, all we wanted was something deeply satisfying, the kind of meal that feels like a reward. When my mother suggested Aunt Irene's Kitchen, there was no hesitation. She spoke of it with the reverence reserved for places that become part of your personal geography former neighborhood staples, the kind you measure other meals against. Years ago, when she lived nearby, this was her spot. And now, standing beside her in a line that stretched out the door, it was clear we weren't the only ones holding onto that sentiment. The queue moved with surprising ease, a quiet efficiency that felt almost practiced. Inside, the energy was unpretentious and steady. Our cashier, while not particularly warm, was brisk and knowledgeable answering questions with the kind of clarity that suggests confidence in the product more than performance. We ordered simply: wings with fries, and two plates of fried fish with fries. The wings hadn't been part of the original plan, but a fellow patron mid-meal and visibly excited leaned over to insist. It felt like advice worth taking. And it was. The food arrived in its own time this is not a place for the impatient but what it lacked in speed, it more than made up for in flavor. The fish was crisp and tender, the wings richly seasoned, each bite layered with the kind of depth that doesn't rush itself. Then there was the jalapeño tucked alongside the plate like a quiet signature. It cut through the richness with a bright, deliberate heat, a small but memorable detail that elevated the entire experience. The dining room itself is modest and well-kept, with many opting to take their meals to-go or retreat to their cars. There's an ease to it all ample parking, friendly faces coming and going, a sense of community that lingers longer than the wait.
