The worst chocolate milkshake and fries i've ever had. Was basically nasty chocolate milk. Could not even handle making crispy fries. The amount of fries they gave me was a freakin' joke. The jewel of Meeker, I love Sunset Diner. Every neighborhood needs a place like this. If you want to complain about the food not being as good as the other over priced restaurants in the neighborhood you should go to them. This is a diner first and foremost, remember that, but where Sunset gets it right is it's a meal that's like something your mom cooked. Not too fancy, No frills food but good and hits the spot. The menu has a big selection with low/fair prices for living in this city and compared to other places in the neighborhood. Great if you're hungover, still great if you're not. A full menu that all kinda tastes the same, and is ready in 3 minutes flat, the waitresses call you honey, the owner is fixated on the perpetual soccer game on tv, and you have a lovely view of the underbelly of the BQE. This place is disgusting. I've only eaten here out of location convenience (it's unfortunate a good restaurant can't take their spot), but I never will again. I ordered a salad with chicken..pretty difficult to mess up but this was inedible. The lettuce had a weird taste and the cheese tasted like it was expired. I had to go back a second time because they forgot the soup I ordered. And when I got home from that second trip, it wasn't even the correct soup. Probably my fault.. soup and salad IS a complicated order. If you want to be overcharged for shitty food, then I recommend this place. It's a fantastic little diner with dated decor and delectable food. I've only ordered from their breakfast options, specifically the pancakes or waffles, as well as from their burger selection, predominately their bacon cheese burger. Both have been delicious time and time again. I keep going back for more and will continue to do so! read more

I go here every weekend with my 2 year old son and my husband. Breakfast is decent, I get the same thing every time: Eggs over-easy with sausage. My husband gets adventurous and sometimes it gets him into trouble. Their hollandaise sauce for their eggs benedict is pretty bad but then again this is a diner. If you want fancy eggs go to a fancy brunch place. My eggs are always perfectly over-easy and my sausage is always yummy. Not bad for $5. read more

The food is good, no question about that BUT the delivery service sucks. We just waited 1 HOUR and 45 MINUTES for two sandwiches and then when we called a third time to find out what the problem was some woman said the delivery guy caught a flat and she was going to call and it would take us ANOTHER HOUR to get our food. Mind you, we order from this place almost every day. The deliver guy has an attitude and when you tip him he doesn't even have the courtesy to say thank you. Unfortunately, we are going to look into other options because clearly this place needs a lesson in customer service. If you feel like waiting an hour or more for food, this is your place. read more

Beats the pants off of 3 Decker. Cheaper, better food, and the servers' surliness is endearing rather than annoying. The burgers and sandwiches are good. I've also had excellent fried chicken dinners here (ask them to sautee the broccoli in garlic butter!). Free wi-fi is a big plus. The cooks do have an annoying habit of forgetting simple requests like "no mayo," though, so beware. read more

This place is terrible. I ordered a Salmon Spring Salad from seamless and when the order was delivered it was missing the salmon. I called the restaurant, where I ending up speaking to the manager. She said that I just ordered a spring salad, which is why there was no salmon. When I told her the receipt said salmon, and tired to give her the order number, she told me it was not possible for her to view the order on the computer. She then told me that they tend to make mistakes on orders when they are busy. The salmon eventually showed up and the delivery guy was apologetic. He told me this was the 3rd time today he had to redeliver missing food. The salmon was overcooked, chewy and not edible. The veggies in the salad were't fresh either. The tomatoes were grainy and old and the cumbers were shriveled up. They also forgot my dressing. This place is a waste go to Lite Bites! read more

I was in the mood for a quick "breakfast special" type diner experience the other morning on my way to work. I figured I'd deviate from my usual olde tyme hisptre grille experience, and try this local yokel joint around the corner from where I live. I was very pleased! When I first got in and sat up at the counter, I was cordially greeted by everyone who works there, and given VERY attentive service. Almost too attentive. They were good, but after the dozenth time that I was called "sir" I started to wish that they'd back off just a bit. It's better than feeling neglected though, no hate!!! The crowd on this 11 am thursday morning breakfast adventure was mostly the geriatric crew. I did see a small group of tattoo sleeved folk wander in about half way through my sausage-egg-homefry-and toast throw-down, so I didn't feel too out of place. It was a huge plate of food for $5. Everything was fresh and delicious. I especially liked how the sausages were thick links, and not some skimpy lil thangs. Overall, it was a wonderful experience for an old school little diner that is right under the BQE. I'll be back! read more
