My hubby and I have been wanting to try this place and were excited to have time this morning. It's a very bright, happy environment with lots of cute pineapple decorations. It was like walking into sunshine! You can eat in or take out. I love that they have Yelp waitlist available. We were politely greeted and promptly seated. Service was terrific! As the name of the restaurant , pineapple is incorporated into their selections. Hubby had the Hawaiian Trio and a cup of coffee and I enjoyed the açaí bowl with a Thai tea lemonade. We enjoyed it all. The cherry on top of it all was we were pleasantly surprised when we were presented with two slices of pineapple with two gummy pineapples for dessert. The person that served us we believe is the owner and he chatted with us to get to know us. He included a, a discount, which was unexpected. Needless to say, we were Wowed! Parking is available in the back of the building, but extremely limited. Although we were the second table in the restaurant this morning, there was no designated parking for the restaurant. But I was not lost. There was metered parking on the street that was available. Overall, 4-stars because of the parking but we will be back again.

Sunshine and Pineapple is located in a small food truck park within steps of many hotels. There is plenty of outdoor seating. We went there for breakfast twice on our most recent trip because it was so good. Great, fresh options!

Amazing service and delicious food here at hot and new Sunshine & Pineapple! The business opened in February 2025. Met with fellow Yelp Elite All Stars Nadine C. And Irene M. What a wonderful place to talk story. Thank you for everything you both do! Mint answered many of the questions I had about the place. We later met the owner Joseph. He was great recommending menu options for us. I decided on the Granola Bowl, it comes with granola, yogurt, seasonal fruit, and topped with honey and fresh mint! See the gorgeous pictures. It was a 100% delicious combination! Very refreshing and filling as well. You can add more honey to your taste. It has more than enough flavor and taste as served! Sunshine & Pineapple is easy to find on Kapahulu Avenue. There is a parking lot in the back of the building and the sign says to register your license plate with the business. I checked with Mint and I was told that I didn't need to provide her with my license plate number, as long as I was parked in the business's marked stall. The interior is clean and bright. Very welcoming staff and excellent service here. I met a sweet couple having breakfast here as well. They sell a few items for purchase such as cups, Thai crispy rolls, and spicy biscuit sticks. Please support this hot & new business.

Looking for a brunch spot that's bursting with aloha and pineapple in every bite? Look no further than Sunshine & Pineapple -- a cozy, family-owned gem tucked away in Kapahulu, Honolulu. From the moment you walk into the bright yellow building, you're welcomed with warm hospitality and fast, friendly service. It's the kind of spot where locals bring their families, and visitors come back twice in one trip. We tried a lineup of local-style hits, including: A hearty Loco Moco with savory gravy and perfectly cooked eggs Sweet & smoky pineapple sausage that's packed with island flavor Flavorful Thai pineapple chicken curry -- tropical, creamy, and comforting And a secret menu favorite: the waffle croffle taco -- crispy, chewy, and loaded with goodness With pineapple showing up in fun, unexpected ways across the menu -- from fried rice to iced coffee -- every bite feels like a brunch-time vacation. Plus, the tropical-themed interior is perfect for snapping those Instagram-worthy foodie photos Whether you're a local brunch lover or just visiting Oʻahu, Sunshine & Pineapple is a must-try brunch destination that combines creative island flavors with good vibes and heart.

Breakfast in Kapahulu, Honolulu, Hawaii... You can't miss this bright yellow storefront! Located between First Hawaiian Bank and Hawaii Cat Cafe, Sunshine & Pineapple is a Hot New Business that's Instagram-worthy! Besides the cute, bright decor, the food has beautiful presentation! I got the Bacon, Avocado, and Eggs on Sourdough bread. It was fresh and delicious! The bonus was the complimentary slices of sweet pineapple and a pineapple gummy candy! Service was very welcoming, attentive, and friendly! When I asked about the December 2025 end date, the server said that it depends on how well they do. So... give them a try! They have free parking behind the building, so... go check 'em out! #supportSmallBusiness

Happy International Pineapple Day... Here's the place that wears the crown proudly is Sunshine & Pineapple found on Kapahulu and is the place I had to go on this sweet and bright day since it does open bright and early at 7am and with free parking in the back of the building it was an easy morning stop. What I really came for is their Pineapple Butterfly Tea and what a sweet combination that I really love and it works not just beautifully as the sunshine bright yellow pineapple just right over the naturally purple glow that the butterfly tea give this drink a stunning look and yes it was refreshingly perfect, a bit sweet but heavenly to start my day. Before hand as I was glancing at the menu a gentleman who took my order suggested the Pineapple Fried Rice omg yes! It was a short wait as it was made to order so it was nice and hot filled with bits of Portuguese sausage, bits of pineapple, corn and peas this unique twist on the beloved local fave was so yummy and it was topped with scrambled egg that I must say was done to perfection and not to mention it came with a couple of sourdough bread halves with pineapple jam of course just wished it was toasted that would've made it even better but in all this spot sure does offer wonderful brunch items and was so happy to have this crowning breakfast. Thank you!

Pineapple themed place that uses local Dole pineapples! Perfect for tourists who want pretty Hawai'i food pics honestly didn't know this place existed Parking: limited parking in the back cause they share with the cat cafe. Otherwise, there's parking in the neighboring areas or metered street parking Food: BEAUTIFUL!!! The toppings aren't just thrown on. They've clearly been carefully placed so your food is clearly cared for! I LOVE how each dish we ordered came with a serving of fruits or vegetable. I've worked at a diner before and for these same prices all you'd get is starch, egg and meat which i don't feel is a very balanced meal. If im eating bacon I'd like to have fruit/vegetable to offset my guilt. Price: standard breakfast prices especially in Waikiki. But idk I do feel like the side of fruit that comes with it is already a big plus. honestly would rather come here over liliha bakery cause you GET VEGETABLES AND FRUIT with your order. Overall I'd come back! I hope they do well.

Love how this place is called Sunshine & Pineapple, as this place is beaming with such sunny disposition! Pineapple's one of my favorite fruits, so it was cool to see them incorporate it in their iced coffee (a great pick-me-up btw!)! The service was very inviting & welcoming, & also shared they named some of the dishes, such as I'm just here for the burrito (actual name, which I ordered!). The food came out quick & hot, & the burrito was a massive one, but equally really good! Also had an açaí bowl, which was very tasty & healthy! The restaurant's decked in bright yellow to go with the sunshine & pineapple theme & I love how they played subtle bossa nova/jazz type of music, providing that extra touch of vacation to your experience. So the next time you're in the Waikiki area I highly recommend this place as the next hidden gem to discover!

I ordered the bacon, egg and avocado breakfast....this was done well. The eggs were scrambled but not dry with cheese i think, mixed in. The bacon was crispy and nice and the salad, needed more dressing, but nice with the roasted grape tomatoes.the crofell was very good fresh, a bit hard when cold. I also ordered the Thai iced coffee......very good cool and refreshing.

5/5 Just had a seriously delicious morning at Sunshine & Pineapple in Honolulu -- it absolutely delivered on vibe and flavor. I tried the poke breakfast, pork belly pineapple ("borkbelly pineapple"? gotta try saying that three times fast!), bacon avocado & eggs, fruit croffle, and a pineapple butterfly pea tea drink. Here's the breakdown: The poke breakfast was fresh and vibrant -- clean cubes of seasoned ahi over rice (or whatever base they used) with crisp veggies and just the right amount of punch. The pork belly pineapple was genius -- succulent, fatty pork belly paired with that sweet tropical pineapple note made it feel like brunch & dessert rolled into one. The bacon avocado & eggs hit all the comfort‑food checkpoints: smoky bacon, creamy avocado, perfectly cooked eggs, and good textures all around. The fruit croffle (croissant + waffle mashup) was light, flaky, and loaded with fresh fruit -- a sweet, satisfying counterpoint to the savory dishes. And the pineapple butterfly pea tea drink? So pretty (that blue hue is magical) and refreshing. It cleansed the palate in the best way. Service was warm and attentive. The space feels happy and bright -- exactly the kind of spot you want for casual brunch in Honolulu. If you're in town and craving brunch with a tropical twist, Sunshine & Pineapple should absolutely be on your list.

    Birthday treat!

Great food! Fantastic service! Relaxing music! Lots of parking! On Kapahulu so you don't have to go INTO Waikiki

Why 5 stars? Why rated so high? Reason being - This restaurant operates one table at a time. Went on a regular Saturday morning. 1 waiter, 1 busser, 1 cook. The waiter did wonderfully by setting the tone, 1 customer at a time. Tone = Quiet, Calm, Patient You know when the food is coming because each table gets served in the order they arrived. The establishment deserves 5 stars because of the way it operates and the ambience set by the small staff. It didn't feel like we were in a bustling restaurant with 5 orders coming in and food being whipped out. It felt like how Hawaii should be, slow, steady, aloha.

It WAS poke breakfast and pineapple fried rice
    Donovan B.

Literally ate everything in two minutes before I had the thought to take a picture but everything was amazing! I had the poke breakfast and my wife got the pineapple rice. Both dishes were incredible and the service was polite and welcoming. The spot has parking in the back which could be hard to find. We passed the spot and pulled into the gas station next door which is where we saw the parking. The interior has lots of unique pineapple decorations with a Thai influence. Simple and unique. We stumbled across this place by accident and if you're lucky enough to see this, do yourself a favor and give it a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed!

This might be one of the only places in Waikiki open at 4 AM which is perfect if you've just arrived the night before from the East Coast. The inside of the shop feels homey. They have a display case full of pastries along with additional baked goods set out nearby. For my coffee on this morning I decided to go with a coconut latte and then ordered a blueberry malasada while my father went with a custard-filled one. At Maleko, the malasadas are pre-made but not filled until you order which I think is a smart move. I first tried my blueberry malasada and thought it was good. The dough was light and fluffy and the filling had a great flavor. As for my coffee, I have to agree with other reviews that the syrup made it overly sweet. I still drank it, but I definitely would have preferred something less sweet. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again for the malasadas. As for the coffee, I would probably pass unless you prefer your drinks on the sweeter side.

This is the only standing Kulu Kulu and I hope this place does not close, or if it does relocate, come closer to Central Oahu where the rent is cheaper, haha (hint). This location is on the outer edges of Waikiki on Hobron Lane in Eaton Square. I rarely venture to Waikiki, and if I do make the dreaded drive to "town", this place and Kan Sushi will be the only regular places where I will make my stop(s), because its so worth it. I've had a long-standing love-affair with Kulu Kulu from the Shirokiya Food Court location with it's waffle bears and Hello Kitty waffles, the takeout Nama Chocolate cups stocked at Mitsuwa Marketplace and now here, in town. The Ube Coconut Mousse $6.95 blew our minds, it was THE best tasting thing, ever. Both the ube and the coconut were not cloying, and as with all of their treats, not overly sweet either. That's why I love Japanese pastries, they get the sweetness just perfect and I have no idea how they mastermind that ratio! Strawberry Panna Cotta $5.95 was creamy, flavorful, delicious and surprisingly light and refreshing for such a creamy dessert. I normally don't get this kind of combination of flavors, and it tasted like something you'd get in a Michellin-rated establishment. Looking back at the photos, I see vanilla bean seeds in the panna cotta, so every loving detail and nuance shows through with each mouthful. Nama Chocolate $5.75 is my go-to chocolate LOVE. It's cut into cool creamy semi-sweet squares dusted with cocoa and it melts in your mouth! This is my favorite of all things that Kulu Kulu makes. I actually enjoy this better than the famous Royce Chocolates from Japan. We ordered another seasonal Strawberry dessert slice cake but it was eaten before I could review (and/or taste it); I've heard it was very very delicious. This place is so good that I plan to bring my friends who will be visiting from Virginia here to try their pastries.
