Poor service, was not helped and only acknowledged once with a "We'll be with you in a minute" twenty minutes went by with all the waitresses simply walking by and smiling at us with our menus closed ready to order. I hate to leave a negative review on a local business. I know small business are struggling right now but, if you don't know what is happening at you place or if you do you can fix things before you get to many negative reviews. Again I'm sorry for the negative review. I went to lunch with a friend at 11:30. It's a very small place to begin with and with the Covo-19 it now only has a few tables. There was 1 other table that had people they came in after us. The place lacks customer service as it took awhile to just get our menus. Getting our food was even slower. Had a patty-melt and the onions were more then caramelized they were burnt and the meat was way over salted. My fries were so salty I could not eat them. My friend ordered breakfast some type of rancharo stuff said she would not order again. Her hash-browns were so burnt they were black yet was brought out to her anyway. To top it off we got our food 45 minutes after we walked in. Had to go back to work or we would of sent back or said I'm not eating this. read more

We stopped at Sunshine Cafe on our way home from camping at Salt Creek ~ around 2pm on a Sunday. I'm sure their food is fantastic even when you're not craving good food like we were! We all had big breakfast servings of eggs benedict, chicken fried steak, eggs w/ diced ham, etc. The food, coffee and fresh orange juice were all great. It was a bit more expensive than I'm used to paying for breakfast but it was worth it and we'll definitely go back next time we're out that way. Yummy! read more

I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch today. The service was kind and friendly but the food was the real star. When I think of a Monte Cristo sandwich, I'm not really expecting much more than meat and cheese grilled, but this had some surprising flavors. Sandwiched between the 2 slices was some smoky and not too salty turkey and ham. The egg mixture had a little sweetness and cinnamon and was probably the same mixture for French Toast, but the added flavor was delicious. I gave this establishment one star because the servers refilled our coffee. Food is okay, but as read in other reviews....bland. The service is the worst I have received in years....so poor we did not leave a tip and we are restaurant managers in Portland. As an example of the caliber of help in this small town local cafe...One server was heard telling customers there are open seats over here. When the guests did not respond, the server, in earshot of us and others patrons, stated "I don't care if you sit or not. Really? Are you rude just at work or in general? We stopped in here for a late breakfast on a busy Saturday morning and we really liked this place. It was busy, the waitress was hopping, but the atmosphere was pleasant and the food really tasty. I had scrambled eggs with cheese, crispy on the outside tender on the inside hashbrowns and honey wheat toast, my partner in crime had the chicken fried steak, hashbrowns, two over medium eggs and wheat toast. everything was done perfectly! Good coffee too! Seriously. We will definitely be back to check out their lunch offerings. On a birthday road trip with my sister to the Olympic Peninsula and after an early, breakfast-less start, we were feeling the need for some sustenance. Saw the sign and pulled over. Not a big place and on a late Sunday morning, just a few tables filled. But the Seahawks game was just starting so not unexpected to be lightly patronized. The entire breakfast menu looked appealing but we decided to split an order of the Kathy Jo, a Joe's Special-like scramble. It came served on two individual plates with a decent order of crisp hashbrowns and a piece of sourdough toast for each of us. The scramble - or half, I should say - was more than enough for us and a light, well-seasoned and well-cooked delight. It was - in short - great and both my sister and I liked it enough to comment on it to each other and to the waitress, who passed on our compliments to the chef. By the way, our waitperson was friendly, prompt with service and not too much in-your-face. Not at all sure why previous yelpers posted such mixed reviews. Unless staffing at different times and on different days produces really different results. But I have nothing negative to say about my experience and I will seek out Sunshine Cafe the nexty time I visit Sequim. read more

Stopped in for the first time and was pleased with the meal. I didn't realize they gave a free kid's meal for kids under 10, so that was a nice surprise. Limited options for those kids meals, but my kids were fine with it. Service was good, burgers were tasty, salad and side vegetables were fresh, and prices were reasonable. What a great surprise. Driving through Sequim, we decided to stop for breakfast. Everything was fresh and flavorful. I got the eggs Bennie, the poached eggs were perfect and the sauce was better than most of the cafes I've tried. At first, let me say this... I am a person of colour. When I was working in Sequim my co-workers and I went there a lot until this happened. On my last visit with another therapist for lunch we were offered the "special", I ordered the Belgian Waffle with bacon bits and for good measure a side of bacon as well. It arrived and it was good but, nothing special just a normal waffle with bacon bits. Then I got the bill now that was special $17.00 dollars just for the waffle and $3.00 dollars for the side of bacon. I ask you... can you find a place to pay $17.00 for a waffle, I can't. I cannot think of one reason I would have to return to the Sunshine Cafe if there was an alternative place to get a bite to eat. The food was bland, poorly executed and pretty expensive for what it was. For better food for both breakfast and lunch, Ely's Cafe around the corner is far better. The food at Ely's is more flavorful and the service is 100 per cent better. At Ely's, the staff seemsto appreciate the fact that you walked through the door. At the Sunshine Cafe, if you are dining alone, the staff makes you feel like you are a burden that they would just as soon be on Ely. read more

Stopped in for lunch while in Sequim on vacation. I can't say enough good things about Sunshine Cafe! The service was outstanding (we were greeted with smiles and our kids were offered coloring pages and toys to keep them occupied, and our waitress was attentive and friendly), and the food was fresh and delicious. I was pleasantly surprised to find that kids under 10 eat free. Excellent! Sweet potato fries are some of the best I've had. Highly recommend!! read more

Decent for the price and kids under 10 eat free. My hash browns were a little under-seasoned but the garlicy beef and eggs was tasty. My wife thought the biscuits and gravy were just ok. Think of this as a value establishment. Oak Table Café is higher quality but twice the price. read more

I was in town visiting family from Minnesota in March. We stopped in for breakfast at the Sunshine Cafe. I had eggs, sausage, and hash browns. I know that sounds simple but I would disagree. I like my eggs basted and seldom get them cooked correctly. My eggs were the most perfectly basted eggs I have ever had. The hash browns were crispy and delicious. The sausage patties tasted fresh and were cooked perfect. If you are into the breakfast places that slop a ton of food on your plate this is not the place for you. If you like things cooked correctly I would highly recommend the sunshine Cafe. read more

Not impressed. Ordered eggs over medium, received eggs with runny whites. Bacon over cooked. Bacon and eggs with coffee over $15, really!

This is where the locals go. Smallish, great food, reasonable prices. Enjoy breakfast here, I have never had a bad meal. They give back to the community every Thanksgiving and offer a free Thanksgiving dinner to who ever comes in. How cool is that? read more

My experience with the Sunshine Cafe was awful ending with our very unpleasant waitress dumping our breakfasts that were finally ready to be served into the garbage before we got it! The place was packed (twelve tables) and there was only one waitress taking orders. There was another waitress serving coffee and seating people but she did not take orders. We had to wait nearly a half an hour for the waitress to take our order. We asked for our bacon to be cooked crisp. She also took the order of a couple who had arrived twenty minutes after us. After nearly another half hour, the waitress brought food out to the other couple, she then came over to our table and said we were next. I commented to her that the other couple arrived after us. The waitress told us that we had special ordered our food and that is why we had to wait - crisping bacon takes that long!! I was flabbergasted! Anyway, the waitress felt disrespected by me and would not leave our table. I told her to shut up and waved my hands for her to go because she would not leave our table. She then said to us that she would not serve us and that is when she took the food and dumped it into the garbage. Maybe saying shut up wasn't the right thing to do but her behavior was completely and totally unprofessional. I still can't believe what happened! read more
