Not the best and far from the worst this is just your average little diner/cafe in Limerick. The food is nothing to write home about but it's inexpensive and freshly prepared. I do enjoy going for breakfast from time to time. On the weekends there is typically a line but it moves pretty quickly (15-20 min. wait at the most). I remember they used to make pancakes in the shape of Mickey Mouse if you ordered a single. Nice touch. The staff is friendly and prompt. They have better breakfasts than lunch IMO. this little place is right around the corner, so it has become our go-to for the occasional breakfast out on a sat/sun morning. there are a lot of regulars here and the waitresses call you hon and it is homey and warm and welcoming service is always efficient and the food is dependably good - not great - but they are also not overcharging you for what you get slowly but surely, they are giving the inside an upgrade, which it definitely needs they serve b'fast and lunch and have started serving dinner thurs-sat n.b. - they use carved meats, not cold cuts in their club sandwiches 3.5 stars read more

The Sunshine is my go-to for an all-around good breakfast. I live 15 minutes away and pass a dozen diners on the way there. The decor is a bit shabby, but IT'S A DINER! The waitresses are excellent and although there's usually a line, it moves fast. In other words, these people know what they're doing. The menu isn't exactly extensive, but it covers all your favorites and everything I've tried on it (and betwen the wife and I, we've tried a lot) is made well and exactly the way you want it. Fort time visit. Hand a pretty good experience. Food is standard fare but cooked well and price fairly. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. They also got the order right the first tome! Seems silly, but so many places I've been where something wasn't quite right and this place avoided that mistake. Outdoor patio area was nice for a warm summer breakfast. Breakfast has always been good and the service excellent. Nice friendly, hometown feel. Tonight I was craving a burger and thought I'd get a better one than sonic down the street. I wish I'd gone to sonic. It was a frozen bubba burger and even though they don't close till 8pm the fryer had been turned off and it was only 720, so the fries were greasy and white. Wow, when you get stuffed into a corner, you sometimes get forgotten. While others came in behind you are getting their orders taken before you, and getting their food before you, what is there to say. The decaf was right down there with dishwater, the homefries were old and soggy, and the wait time was nothing short of unacceptable. Overall, it's a nice country place for a quick lunch. We'd got there again without hesitation. I had the chicken parm sandwich with fries. My wife had an egg and cheese sandwich. She's a fan of any place that serves breakfast all day which this place does. Both choices were very tasty. My mom got the beef barley soup and was not thrilled. It looked a bit watery to me. Then again, my mom can be picky about soup. My son didn't like the cheese hoagie. It was constructed awkwardly like they didn't serve these very often. Several of the cherry peppers still had the stems on them. So it's not exactly vegetarian-friendly. Some of the pies there are made on the premises. I love the Sunshine Cafe because it's not a cookie cutter run of the mill diner or franchised restaurant. It has a small town feel and hints of a southern waffle house. I've become somewhat of a regular ordering breakfast for take out in the early mornings and I've always found the staff to be extremely friendly and gracious. I love the Sunshine Cafe. I typically go for breakfast, which they serve all day thankfully, cause I'm not an early bird. And I like to sit at the counter. I love their creamed chipped beef. It's simple and perfect. Not fancy with other stuff in it. It's the cream sauce and the beef. I don't want anything in my chipped beef. It's a throwback for me to when I was a kid and my dad would make it. I loved it then and I love it still. I find the servers to be friendly, they get to you quickly once you sit down. In the morning hours the parking area is full of cars, which speaks for itself. Sunshine Cafe is a moderately-priced alternative to chains like Bob Evans and Friendly's for American breakfast. They also have good lunch and dinner selections. Their burgers are nothing to write home about, but their steak sandwiches are good--especially their chicken steaks, I never have figured out why they're only open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for dinner (after all, Limerick isn't rural anymore), but they do offer a special every day. The waitstaff will entertain the daily or frequent patrons, but as long as they don't get obnoxious I'm OK with that. read more

this place should be closed by the board of health. filthy and the most disgusting food imaginable. people walking around the kitchen area with long hair dangling should certainly be a red flag. the only reason it gets any good reviews is they slop a lot of crappy food on a plate and i guess for people who love a lot of crappy food they eat it. extremely filthy and someone needs to report them to the health department. we left our entire breakfast on our plates and no one even asked us why. this completely tasteless under cooked and over cooked should not be served to a dog. if you want a plate size pancake that has absolutely no taste and not cooked all the way then this is the place for you. warning stay away. First time here was greeted right away which i liked nothing special about the coffee in fact i didnt even finish my cup better off stopping by wawa before or after for that decent prices but portions are in no way large i left a little hungry. Had eggs, toast, home fries and pork roll. Eggs were the driest I have ever had in my life. Toast was partly burnt, Home fries were limp, soggy and tasted greasy. Pork roll simply tasted bad.
