I do like bone appetite but I am not sure about the self-wash situation. I have a little 18lb…read morepoodle and a 21lb cockapoo. The first time I took them to the self wash I was charged for a medium and a large sized dog self-wash after telling them my dogs weight. Now a second time I go and they asked for my dogs weight, I said 18 and 21lbs. I had also gotten a few exotic treats that were not priced so I didn't think anything when I heard the total. When I got home and look at the receipt I noticed I was charged for 2 large dogs. Mind you we had to wash both dogs in the same tub at the same time. Their normal groomer doesn't even charge them as large dogs because they are not. So I guess I'm just confused on the pricing because a 21lb cockapoo is BARELY a medium sized dog... so I guess great for treats bad for self washing.

Initially I really loved the customer service here. Some younger girls were working and not only did my pet love them- but I did as well. They were warm, helpful and outgoing. Then something shifted - I walked in one day and the owner Kate was discussing prior employee with another customer. Bad mouthing them and discussing how the had moved to work for her "competition". Maybe I'm just too "community over competition" oriented but this experience put a horrible taste in the mouth. Everytime I've seen Kate the owner after she's just very off putting, she's condescending and rude. Not a friendly woman in any form. There are other local pet stores in stgeorge that you could patronize that undoubtedly treat their employees, past employees and customers with more kindness. Also, the owner is VERY money oriented. It doesn't really matter how much you've been there-there used to be free samples which they now charge for.

On the eve of Thanksgiving, we were told our puppy was very sick, needed a surgery that starts anywhere from $8-$10 THOUSAND asap, and that it won't guarantee her to live since she is a Frenchie. Then they said she needed another surgery after that for something else, which was over $10 THOUSAND. We decided to go pick her up from our vet and make a hard decision to put her down. I started calling around Vegas with info that our vet gave us, and the Vets that did answer said the same price, and the risk was huge! I started doing a wider search in California, Arizona, and Utah. Finally, I called Lava Rock, Ashley answered, I asked A LOT of questions, she patiently answered all of them, and she set up an appointment for the next day. We packed our bags, along with our other dog (so if the surgery was successful, and she needed aftercare, we would stay out in St. George). We arrived, and the first thing they noticed was how well our puppy was acting. Dr Murdock went over all Philly's records and did an exam. She let us know that after the exam, she didn't see any reason to put our girl down. We were SHOCKED AND CONFUSED (crying happy tears now) as this was such a serious life-threatening problem, so we asked her to take an X-ray to reassure us.
