I went in to get a pedicure and brow wax for my wedding and Angel the owner was hanging out with me making me laugh. She helped me pick out a beautiful glitter for my toes. She took her time cleaning my nails, trimming them exactly how I like them, and making sure everything looked neat, clean, and healthy. I didn't get any polish, clear coat, or color, which meant more time was spent on the massage, and it was exactly what I've been looking for. The massage was hands down the best I've ever had. I have arthritis in one of my feet, and she gave an incredible deep tissue massage throughout my feet and legs, hitting all the right pressure points. The relief was immediate, and it truly made a difference in how comfortable I felt walking afterward. What really stood out was the care and attention she put into every step of the service. First time getting my nails done here. Requested gel manicure with cat-eye, as well as a classic/basic pedicure. Paid $100 including tip. My Gel mani chipped in 3 areas, 5 days later :( The good: -the salon is bright and clean. Their tools are in a sanitized bag. -the wall is loaded with TONS of nail colors to choose from -there's a big t.v. to watch music videos (English and Vietnamese music, salons choice). - the staff seemed pretty nice The not so good: - nails weren't measured. Some nails are shorter on one hand over the other. - my cuticles were not pushed back. Instead, my cuticles were shaved off with a toolbit, and it burned. Ended up with a cut on my left hand. -I could not relax. The staff kept talking to each other loudly across the room. I really wanted to enjoy a self-care day. - gel manicure couldn't hold up for a week I really dislike leaving less than stellar reviews for small businesses. Almost one year later since my last visit and the service was still great! I'm not from around the area and typically get my nails done at home, but I wasn't able to get them done before an event so this was a perfect time to come here again! (Or maybe this was an excuse for me). This time I had Kim as my technician and she did a great job with my gel manicure. At first, I was going to do a regular gel color polish, but she showed me a few cat eye colors and I decided to give the aqua blue one a shot. It did not disappoint! My nails look amazing and now I feel ready for my event. The owners are also very welcoming and the atmosphere of the shop is really warm. I will definitely have to try to get a pedicure at some point as well. They have so many colors and different gel polish brands that I've never tried so I do definitely want to come back. All in all, if I don't get my nails done and I'm in town again, would definitely come back again! Also, I came in as a walk-in when it was busy and they told me to come back in an hour when they had someone available, which did actually happen. I went with my mom to JB Nails & Spa together today. I got a gel manicure and my mom got her first ever pedicure; I wanted to treat her to a nice spa pedicure. We got her the Deluxe Pedicure. She had a very positive experience especially for her first time, and Tammy did a fantastic job, my mom left feeling pampered and very relaxed. (And her feet have never looked better!) My gel manicure came out great, I requested an off-white color with snowflake designs for my work's upcoming holiday party, and Kenny did a great job, the designs turned out better than the example I showed him from Pinterest. My wife works graveyard shifts and woke up later in the day craving a pedicure. She suggested JB Nails & Spa since she had a great experience there before. I checked Yelp and saw they were closing in 11 minutes--bummer, since we were 15 minutes away. Needed a pedicure pretty badly so I called and was easily able to make an appointment for the next morning with Tammy. Was greeted warmly and cheerfully as I entered. Salon and restroom were clean and uncluttered. Tammy got to work and gave a great massage. She's been the only person that's taken her time to scrub the calloused spots on my feet with such detail that my feet didn't snag on my blanket when I got home that night. I've patronized other nail salons that charge the same amount of money but have given subpar service. The lotions, callous remover and scrubs all come in clean and sanitized little packets which I really appreciated. Tammy took her time, didn't rush through my pedicure and did a great job. Personally I had NOT gotten a pedicure in over a year so it was long overdue that I did, and was very much impressed with my time at JB Nails. Located right off Elk Grove Blvd., JB Nails offers plenty of mani/pedi packages, as well as hair removal (wax). My friend and I went with the Organic Volcano Pedicure package (#3 on the menu) and thoroughly enjoyed our experience! This package included: - Volcano Crystals/activator - Sugar scrub - Collagen cream mask - Paraffin wax - Hot stone and hot towel wrap I stuck with normal polish, while my friend went with gel, and I really appreciated how both ladies that worked on us timed it so that we finished at the same time. It really helped take the pressure off that I sometimes feel (past experiences where the SO would finish his pedi first and having to wait for me to finish). The massages at each stage were fine for me, and I also liked that it didn't feel rushed (ladies did not set a timer). Since my regular polish took a little more time to dry than my friend's gel nails, I was escorted to a corner by the door where this really cool contraption fanned my toes until they dried. At the end, I believe one of the co-owners greeted us and thanked us for coming. She reminded me of one of my more jovial aunts during a family gathering lol loves it! Overall, a really great experience, especially after coming back from a mani/pedi hiatus. If I'm ever in the Elk Grove area again, I would 100% come back. read more
