I took part in their 2 day, 1 night Niagara Falls tour and it was stressful from the minute we left Boston. Our "tour guide" Peter or Yao on multiple occasions was very snippy with us and failed to explain clearly what exactly we were paying for. At one point, he tried to convince us that $6 per person was necessary to see Niagara Falls illumination at night when in reality it is free. My inkling is he pocketed the extra fee. It would definitely be better if we weren't asked to keep paying while on the tour, especially for things that are free for the public. I wish I could give this company zero stars. Your tour guides are the face of your company, so make sure they take a lesson in patience and customer service. If you want to be nickeled and dimed, including paying for a mandatory tour guide tip, and arrive back home more stressed and unsettled than ever, then Sunshine Travel is for you! read more

This place is HORRIBLE!!!! I booked plane tickets from Sunshine Travel to Taiwan and the Philippines about 7 months prior to my honeymoon dates 2/2012-3/2012. I picked them because I figured I would save money booking from a travel agency that likely specialized in travels to Asian countries. After making payments and giving copies of passport for me and my husband I asked if we needed to submit any other documents or apply for traveling visa (I'm a US citizen, my husband is holds a Green Card). The agent said we were all set. A few months prior to our travel dates I checked in with them again to make sure we didn't need to do anything else. Again, the answer was we were all set. We left for our honeymoon on 2/27/2012 to first destination Taiwan thinking everything was great. When we got to Japan for our connecting flight to Taiwan, all hell broke loose. Turns out my husband needed a visiting visa in order to enter Taiwan. We were horrified and shocked this info was never given to us. We had to apply for an emergency visa to stay in Japan and were detained there for 2 days!! We even almost had to cancel our week long plans in Taiwan, forfeit those plane tickets and fly straight to our second destination Philippines. Long story short, I called Sunshine Travel for help and they were absolutely useless!!! They were uncooperative, and unwilling to help us, they told my sister it was our problem and that we had to fix it ourselves that there was nothing they could do. They wouldn't take ownership of the problem and even tried to blame us for not knowing a visiting visa was required for Taiwan. The people at this agency were ABSOLUTELY useless! As a result of their error we wasted 3 days of our honeymoon trying to fix things and spent an extra $1,000 due to unplanned expenses. In the end, my 26 y.o sister was able to fix it all for us and she's not even in the traveling industry!! She got us the visa we needed which was processed and approved right online within minutes and called the airlines and straightened out our flights. WORD OF ADVISE: DO NOT BOOK FROM SUNSHINE TRAVEL IF YOU WANT TO TRAVEL WORRY-FREE! There is no customer service and it's not worth the few dollars you might save. read more

RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. If you want to be respected, I highly recommend going somewhere else. My family and I booked 8 tickets to New York City-- a day trip. I had visiting cousins from Germany and I thought this would be a great trip. I arrive to china town at the pick up spot at 645 am the departure date only to find out BUS WAS CANCELLED so they called only 14 people to say they can take a small bus. To top it all off, my name was not on the master (original) list. I march into kam man, at their Quincy location, and the woman tells me the girl who took my name down forgot to fax over my paperwork. OF COURSE THEY DID.... But they surely did not forget to take my money. A week has gone by now, I called their manager CAN? KHAN? He tells me he refunded my money a week ago. I called Santander bank, a leading bank... And they said nothing is processing. It's been 5 business days. I called the manager only to have him YELL AT ME screaming SO? NOT MY PROBLEM. If this is anyway respectable... Then it's beyond me. He was extremely rude and I did not get my $520 back yet. I am waiting for him to send me a receipt of this transaction and his bank account statement. Very upsetting experience!!!! They force you to pay for all attractions on a tour, even though you don't want to do them! My parents took a tour from Boston to the Niagara falls and their english is not so good and tour guide (who spoke even worse english) forced them to give her the money for all attractions, even though my parents weren't interested. I didn't know this happened until they were back and I tried right away to talk to Sunshine travel about it, but they made it very difficult to contact them and just replied with lies. read more

I always heard my friend said Sunshine Traval always can help peple get a good deal about the long trip flight Ticket, So 3 months agos, I called Sunshine Traval to ask them if they had a flight ticket to GUANGZHOU under 1000$, the staff let me left my information, once they had a good deal , they would call me. When I already almost forgot buying tickiet this thing, suddently I got a called from Trval Sunshine last week , their staff, Hmm, I remember her name is Judy...She told me that they had a promotion ticket to Guanghzhou under 1000$ if I choose to fly on APRIL or May. And she taught me to choose 3 dates to let me compare so that I would get the cheapest one! So at the end, I only spend 850$ to buy a ticket to go back Guangzhou !! Because on that day, I was not in BOSTON, she helped me to transfer to the flight ticket department to send the email for me to let me check my personal information on ticket if correct. And my talking environment a little bit noisy, but the staffs on the phone is still so patient! This is the cheapest ticket ever I bought! Before, I always needed to spend at least 1300$ to go back China, if I bought online. Moreover, the flight is also a srtaight flgiht which is From boston to Guangzhou!! It means NONSTOP from America to China! This will be my first time to fly a straight flight to go back China! I am so exciting to get this good deal from them. I feel I am so lucky ! This is a bus tour. We had a really great tour guide. His name was Ming. Hope to get him next time. We took the Boston to Niagara. The price was great. The tours were nice. The price included two lookout towers, 2 Castles, two boat tours, etc. It was definitely in Chinese and English both. He gave us movies to watch on the bus. I liked the hotel. Love the Mohegan trip! $13 for a round trip ride plus the casino gives $20 meal voucher and $40 of match play. It pays you to take advantage of the offer. Would help to understand Chinese, as the bus TVs show Chinese shows/movies and most other riders are Chinese. Trips I've been on left around 10 am and returned around 8 pm, giving 5 hours at the casino. read more

Negative Stars if I could!! I might be able to think about rating them a positive star if they ever picked me up. I arrived 45 minutes early at the address in Boston they stated, the corner of Chauncy and Avenue De Lafayette. After calling customer service when we realized the bus never showed up, they informed us that the bus was not able to come down the street they were supposed to and so they just left. Not only did they leave without everyone waiting at that stop, but they never sent an email or phone call informing us what was going on. I had to track them down via phone to find out why they never showed up. Still in the process of getting a refund. This inconvenience ruined my entire weekend because I bought tickets to a boxing match at Mohegan and missed it. I doubt they will refund me for that. I suggest never booking with this company EVER AGAIN!! Instead pay an extra 8 dollars and get a greyhound from south station. Its not worth the trouble of having to deal with this absurd company that does not know how to run a business. read more

What I liked most about the trip was meeting friendly people during the tour and places that we visited. However, there's room for improvement overall. The hotel we stayed at on the second day was infested with mold, which is extremely harmful to anyone's health. The smell was strong to the point where it was difficult to sleep. It should be avoided at all costs. Also, I was demanded to buy three tickets for sightseeing. I was forced to pay on my first tour to Canada. I have to call Tour4Fun to ask for clarification about that because it was noted that the sightseeing is optional and you are not obligated to buy. If you have any issues with the tour guide you should call the office and/or the manager immediately. The bus' bathroom smell urine and the tour guide told us to use the bathroom only for emergency because she did not have time to clean and the bus driver will stop several times. I really feel bad for the people that were sitting next to the bathroom. The tour guide was the rudest person I've seen in my life! she was constantly yelling and screaming at people because they were late! I felt that she was verbally abusive and unprofessional. I have to hold my tongue because of my daughter. I would not recommend booking with Sunshine Tour because there were hidden fees and packets that we were forced to buy and a unkind tour guide!. I am totally dissatisfied with the 3 day tour to Washington DC, Newyork from Boston.I booked tickets for my parents (both seniors) for the above 3 day trip. When i dropped them for pick up.. we noticed it was not the deluxe coach, it was just a small van(ith 15 seats very much cramped with out lavatory facilities. Nowhere it is mentioned, that it will be van with no toilets. At least the day before the trip we should have been informed that it will be van and not a coach, then we would have avoided the trip. Also they had to sit in the last row which made the trip even more bumpy, ended with back pain. Also they are diabetic, and they had to use the toilets often. they had to ask the driver to stop the van when required which is embarrassing. The driver also did not help them much It was mentioned that it will be semi guided tour but the person responsible just played the role of driver and not guide. The air condition in the van was not turned on, they had to ask the driver again and again to put the AC on. Most Horrible Experience Ever.. I will never suggest this tour to any of my friends. pros: The hotel arrangements were decent People travelling in bus and van have paid the same fare but people in van had to face all these difficulties. This is nothing more than a "transport" service. The drive gave us more information than the Tour Guide. The Tour Guide gave us no information /history of the area...all he did was buy our tickets for the cruise & cable car (something we could've done ourselves). When we did ask questions, he was vague & disinterested. At open point we asked about baseball...he dismissed our question by telling us he finds it boring but then, sat there playing a baseball video game on his phone. He also slept most of the time. What put the icing on the cake, is when he detoured us so we can drop him off home first...hang on, the Tour Guide is supposed to drop off the customers first NOT the othe way around...that little trick added at least half an hour to our time. As old couple from overseas, we decided to book a tour from local agencies in US. So there was this Sunshine Travel. It was said that we would be picked up straight from the airport. When we arrived at Boston airport, we couldn't find the person who picked us up, or who was holding the travel flag/logo. After waiting for an hour, we called the office and asked their help. The person promised us to help asking the tour guide but after another hour, when we called again, the person said no call was made yet. Fine! They asked us to wait for another hour for the next group. Okay perhaps that was the best arrangement. We were only fetched after another 2 hours. Just coming back from Sunshine Travel Boston - Niagara Falls&Thousand Islands 2day trip... My first impression was great: bilingual guide Linda (perfect English), everything on time and very clear, good driver. If you just follow the guide, pay as she asks you and do not look for info on your own, you will have the best experience. UNFORTUNATELY I'M NOT STUPID - that's why I'm very disappointed in the end. Not disappointed by the trip (I enjoyed much!), but disappointed by Sunshine Travel company and their approach to customers. Here are the reasons: 1) COMISSIONS Get ready that you're gonna pay more for every single tourist attraction, more than if you were there without Sunshine Travel. I knew this thing even before choosing the company, but I was interested just to see Niagara Falls + Maid Of The Mist which is not overcharged (I skipped Old Fort Niagara, Cultaral Show, Thousand Islands Cruise). So plan beforehand! The guide collects money in cash right in the bus on the way to Niagara Falls and you ARE NOT ALLOWED to buy the tickets on your own. 2) FICTIOUS ADMISSION FEE I found all the attraction fees before leaving Boston except for Illumination. Now I know why... There is no admission fee to Niagara Falls at all incl. evening illumination. It does not hurt me much since it's "just" $6, but it kinda fits to the whole company picture I have now. 3) PAYING DOUBLE PRICE FOR LUNCH This is the main reason I decided to write such thorough review! On the second day after Thousand Islands, we were heading to buffet lunch and guide Linda just told us that we would pay $15 and there was gonna be variety of world cuisines. Ok, $15 for all-you-can-eat does seem reasonable. 10 minutes before the bus pulled over, guide mentioned that it is really important to wear the badge with Sunshine logo in order to pay JUST $15 and not more. Since I already knew about overcharged admissions and I'm not stupid, I found the closest buffet restaurant on Google Maps and guess what, all-you-can-eat lunch is for $7,19 and they serve just chinese food. The bus pulled over right in front of the restaurant which name is DAILY BUFFET. There were not many other options where to eat in the location, so Sunshine Travel planned it almost perfectly. I'm writing ALMOST because they suppose the customers are stupid and unable to use internet. I asked the guide in front of the bus, whether we are supposed to pay 7$ comission for $8 lunch and gues what she replied? 'There is higher price for large groups in this restaurant and the price of $15 includes tips and taxes.' In other words, there are no volume discounts but volume extra payments nowadays! :-D Or you are rather supposed to pay 100% tips in the state of New York?! Hillarious, isn't it?! :-D To make the story end, I told the guide that she was liar, grabbed my own food (I'm vegetarian, so I usually don't rely on restaurants) and ate my lunch on sidewalk at the parking lot. Unfortunatelly, I was probably the only one who had his own food, so everyone else paid $7 FOR WEARING THE BADGE! Most expensive badge in the world! :-D To sum up... I don't wanna say that you guys should not travel with Sunshine. I very enjoyed Niagara Falls and everything I wanted to see and did not pay more than I had expected. But get ready for their approach to you AS YOU ARE JUST STUPID CUSTOMER WITH MONEY THEY WANT. One more recommendation... After Maid Of The Mist you basically have about 3 hours (if you skip overcharged cultural show) which is more than enough to walk to Cave Of The Winds and enjoy another Niagara Falls experience for $17 (less than cultural show). This is worth the money! But probably cultural show yields more money to Sunshine, so they better don't mention it on their website even as an option. IF YOU ARE NOT LAZY TO FIND THE INFORMATION, YOU WILL ENJOY THE TRIP EVEN WITH THESE "Sunshine cheaters". So be smart and not lazy guys! :-) read more

Horrible and dangerous service. This company should be shut down immediately. Took a tour to Niagara Falls, driver was on cell phone, and even social media messaging the entire trip (which is illegal in NY state) causing many near misses on the road. AC system malfunctioning with either frigid air, or alternatively tropical engine heat such that passengers in the rear had to strip nearly naked and putting small children at risk for heat stroke, yet driver refused to even stop until passengers put up a revolt and threatened to call 911. Trip was absolutely ridiculous and I was afraid to even sleep for fear of a crash because the driver was either looking at his phone or fighting ferociously with the tour guide and never looking at the road. This kind of Chinese company operating in US with ZERO safety or quality concern should and will be shut down similar to the old 'Fung Hwa' bus to NY that was just as bad. Baggage was also left by the side of the road with no concern for who owned it. if you care about your life, health, or belongings avoid this company at all costs. read more

I haven't gone on the niagra trip I booked with them yet, but when I called to confirm outside of the 24 hours that they request I ended up yelling at the girl on the phone. I asked her to confirm the date of my trip and she refused. I soon realized that she had not made a note or entered the 2 confirmation numbers I had given her to check at all and just told me that I was confirmed for TOMORROW while I am not travelling until Saturday. I hope the tour guide is more of a people person than the girl on the phone. Horrible customer service. read more

It was a thoroughly PUTRID experience: I boarded the Sunshine Travel bus (aka "the Poo Bus") at 9:30 pm in Chinatown for a $13 round-trip Mohegan Sun casino trip. The prior stop was in Malden at 9 pm. Despite having left Malden with a contingent of passengers 30 minutes earlier, there was absolutely no air conditioning or ventilation aboard. The temperature outside at the time was 84 degrees F with opressive humidity, but it did not compare to the stifling interior of the filthy, rickety, ancient bus, where people sat crowded and gasping like trapped rats. The bus driver did not kneel the front of the bus or provide any step stool for the passengers, many whom were elderly, and some physically disabled. People, especially short elderly women were struggling mightily to board the bus without falling three feet to the pavement and splitting their skulls open like mellons, with no offer of assistance from either the bus driver or host, who later demanded a $2 tip from everyone for the sole service of taking their $13. The bus reeked overwhelmingly from what smelled like a mix of cesspool, putrifaction and roadkill. Some folks had understably covered their head rests with trash bags out of fear of head lice and bed bugs, while others dined on steamy chinese food. A gentleman and lady, demonstrated their "VIP" statuses (exempting them from paying for their tickets) by digging snot and boogers from their noses and wiping it on the backs of the seats in front of them, as if to mark their territory.The stenches of stale illegal Chinese cigarettes, body odor, sweat, vodka, Ben Gay, bare sweaty feet, unwashed genitalia, dirty feet, urine, and feces were everywhere. Those were the better parts of the experience. The bus ride and driving were actually worse than the stinks.! A much better alternative to the "Poo Bus" is Trans Pacific Travel, whicl provides clean, comfortable Brush Hill buses with safe, professional drivers. They depart nightly from the same spot in Chinatown, at 9:30 pm. However, they go to to Foxwoods, instead of Mohegan. read more

The bus to the outlet just left without calling me ( while I was waiting next by) and the driver doesn't answer his cell phone. Have to wait for an extra hour for the bus! Yelp L&L Tours / Sunshine Tours This was a horrible vacationing experience I had with this company. They are misleading about their site seeing agenda, poorly managed and I will probably not ever want to go on another tour because this company. Below is a list of just some of the problems * Bus problems o Buses did not allow to use the bathroom on bus even though they advertised it. o On the way home, another Bus broke down, so we had to pick them up, people had to sit in the aisle (illegal?), lost 30 minutes * The Guides speak poor English, if you want good information from an English speaker, this is not the tour for you. * New York o Went from Boston to New York, had to walk a block to some dingy mini-mall then walk another block to bus for a night tour of New York City which cost extra money on top of the day Tour of New York City o Did not get to visit Statue of Liberty, we only went on a harbor cruise which went near it, very misleading on the site o They constantly changed the agenda from the plan with little notice. On the site it says we would visit Madam Toussoud's Wax museum but this was replaced by a Native American Show which was boring, 4 guys dancing on a small stage and cost $20. I've seen better shows that were free conducted in the city park. o * Philadelphia o We went here for about an hour during which the Liberty Bell site was closed. They did not take us on the tour of Independence Hall even though the site made it seem like we would. * Washington DC o They only gave us 90 minutes to sight see museum on our own but parked in front of Aviation museum which was boring, should not have followed guide in there, lost 50 minutes o Took boat tour which saw nothing but houses and airport, lost an hour o Stopped at White House for just 5 minutes, then had to leave o * Food o They took us to all this places which had horrible food, like USS Intrepid site, and some mini mall in Philadelphia, which we had to pay ourselves * At a hotel in New York, machines broke down, so we had to wait 30 minutes to get rooms , this was 9:30pm and we usually woke at 6:30am to leave for tour the next day o the towels had yellow stains on them read more

Horrible!! Traveling more than 5 years, I never had the experience like this. False information almost killed all of us. The agent name Janet Luo told us totally the opposite information before we traveled. She just wanted to get her tickets sold and get the money as fast as she can. She didn't deliver the service she should be giving. It is very okay to tell me that "I don't know and please give me sometime to find out". Instead, she was certain about something she didn't know. Horrible customer service. I was buying tickets for Mohegan Suns for 8 people and they told me that they had enough tickets for everyone in our group and that the seats would not be the ones in the back of the bus by the bathrooms. We stressed that we didn't want the ones in the back and they said it was "no problem". 4 of the 8 people in our group were there so they said they'll write us the ticket and we should pay first and then they'll write the 4 other tickets after. We paid and got our tickets and saw that the tickets were the numbers 48-51. These seats were literally right next to the bathroom which we did not want and told them so. Once that happened, we didn't want the tickets anymore because we had told them we didn't want seats next to the bathroom. They basically told us it was our ticket now and our problem since they don't do refund. This was ridiculous because we never left the store. To top this off, the tickets that they said would be available for our friends ran out, so four of our friends couldn't go. They offered no apologies and did nothing except to tell us that it was "our problem". They knew we were in a group of 8 and we wanted to go together; we asked if they can make our tickets for the day after so that we can all go together and again they refused saying, "I'm sorry, it's your problem." It angered me so and some people in the store who were behind us even spoke up but they did not do anything. My friends and I just stood outside of their store and sold the tickets to people who were walking in to buy tickets for that day for $10 instead of the $15 we paid for it. We used the $10 and went across the street to buy tickets for Foxwoods instead. They gave us 2 $20 match play cards, a $10 match play card, and $15 meal vouchers. From now on, I think I will stick to Foxwoods: not only are the tickets $5 cheaper, the food and venue is much nicer. I will never ever do any business transactions with Sunshine Travel again. I think their business slogan should be "we're here to rip you off." I'd be very careful and make sure that you have everything you want in your hand before you give them your money because once you do, you'll never see it again. read more

I went to Sunshine Travel to obtain a China visa. My experience was wonderful. Initially, I went to Feti Travel because I read such amazing reviews about that agency; however, when I arrived at the office they refused to help get my visa because I didn't book any flight tickets. I told them that I didn't need to and that I have many friends who recently obtained China visas without confirming flight tickets, hotel tickets, etc. Still they denied me. Since I was in Chinatown, I just walked down the street for the next Chinese travel agency and thus, came upon Sunshine. One agent flagged me down, asked what I needed and I told her. Right away she started asking me questions for the application that she would fill out for me. This took no more than 15 minutes. The fee? $200. Not bad! How long? She told me 2.5 weeks. I went home and continued life. She gave me a call to pick up my visa and passport when it was ready. Took only 13 days. Fantastic! Go to Sunshine for your China visa! read more

I just did a tour to Niagara Falls with Sunshine Travel, the tour guide and driver were absolutely the worst most un-professional people I have ever seen. "Sara" was the guide who actually did NO guiding. We completely had the wrong itinerary, missed our 1000 Island boat tour COMPLETELY, and each place that they offered as a stop, that she collected $ for ahead of time, was cut short. It was horrible from the beginning. I cannot believe that they are allowed to be in business. If you do care, PLEASE don't recommend this company to anyone! The bus was FILTHY, they stopped once on the ride home for 20mins and the bathroom on the bus was locked!!!!!!! There were older people and babies and the driver was mean, AND constantly talking on his cell phone, this must be illegal to do when driving!!! I can't go on as I am at work.
