Update: 11/27/2016 So one of the things folks thinking about solar worry about is getting solar installers (who might not be trained roofers) on their roof...what if they get a leak? Sunworks has the best warranty in the business and covers related roof leaks for the full 25 years of the panel warranty. Parts and labor! After getting my solar system installed in July, sure enough, I developed a roof leak after the second or third rain, right where the guys were climbing up on the roof to carry up the panels and equipment. First I called a couple of roof repairers, but they all had 3-6 week wait times for even an inspection or a temp fix. So got up on a ladder and I poked a hole in the wet drywall in the ceiling of my garage, looked up in there, and saw a depression and a drip at a seam in the plywood and right where the solar guys were walking. So I called Sunworks to see what they could do. Adriana took my call, listened to my story, and promised to call back within an hour. She did...and said they would have someone out THAT DAY--that was the day before Thanksgiving. Ben McIntyre and his partner came out, checked my leak, looked suspicious enough, so they tackled the job. After pulling tiles it was apparent that my 16 year old tile roof was soughing muck and rotting tar paper into a valley that had just had enough. While there's some chance the traffic contributed to the failure, it's as likely the leak was just due to old age. Still, the Sunworks guys pulled more tiles, cleaned up the mess, and replaced tar paper and battens covering at least a 100 sq ft area. They also notice a few inches of muck in my gutter and looked over the roof and found a back gutter was clogged and cleared it out. And they invited me up on the roof to school me a bit on what was going on with my roof--in a very friendly and helpful way, of course. Four hours of work X two guys all for the price of a couple of bottles of water. My wife gave me what for because I failed to have some cash on hand for a decent tip. Sorry Ben, I owe you! Bottom line, Sunworks came through and has proven to be one of our very best ever contractor experiences. Oh and it rained today...a gully washer...with no leaks in the roof! I couldn't recommend Sunworks more highly. Prior Review 8/29/2016 When we moved from Roseville to PGE land in December, we knew we needed to go solar. We got quotes from nearly a dozen service providers: cheap panel folks, "small solar", and the HVAC providers. We wanted to own our system rather than lease, and we wanted to support a local business. For most of the companies that offered leases, the purchase cost was way high. SunWorks was selected because they offered the lowest price for the American-made SunPower panels and for the 25 year all inclusive warranty. We wanted SunPower because their higher output panels would lead to fewer panels on our roof. We had limited south-facing surface. With the SunPower panels we got 24 345W panels with the integrated microinverters. In many cases the inverter had a lesser warranty and is first to go. The closest competitor was a couple thousand lower, but we would have had 37 panels on our roof for the same 20-year solar output. When you do the math, the SunPower .25% annual degradation vs. 1% more typically makes a huge difference over the life of the system. We also went with the PACE mPower financing (Placer County). The interest at 6% is a little higher than with a HELOC, but we don't have a lot of equity. Since the interest is deductible, it works out better than typical solar financing. Additionally, due to timing, we won't have our first electric bill until November 2017. All in all, the sales and installation staff were great. We did a lot of comparing, moving from string inverter to power optimizers to micro inverters, and SunWorks price beat another SunPower dealer, and paid for my May electric bill to boot. read more

After reading the reviews I cannot believe we are talking about the same company. We were given a presentation at the showroom in Roseville. It was excellent. After going home and thinking about it overnight and we came back the next day to start our project. The cost for the solar that we were given at the presentation is the cost that we financed and nothing changed from the beginning to the end of the project. Installation was within the same week. The crew from Sunworks were all very professional and when they left there wasn't any debris left behind. The inspection was done the next day and we were online. A Sunwork employee was here for the inspection. We were kept well informed of every step by either a phone call or email. PG&E gave us the PTO (Permit to Operate) quicker then expected. Of course we haven't received our first PG&E billing but with the amount of energy our panels are generating we expect to be very pleased. Our meter is running BACKWARDS!!!! The sales team of Tino and Jose by Blue Oaks were excellent. Their presentation was very professional and easy to understand. Aspen in the Winding Creek office answered many of our questions regarding the tax credit benefit as it can be a bit confusing. As a team from the sales people to operations to their Vice President of sales and marketing, (who I am sorry to say I can't remember his name), they are all top in their field. We had gotten estimate from another highly recommended solar company but Sunworks said we needed less panels then the other company. Therefore less cost. Also Sunworks panels are made in America which was a factor in our decision. The situation at Sun City Lincoln Hills was not in Sunworks control Billy Casper who owns the golf course made the decision of where to place panels. However, it is my understanding that after pressure from property owners the golf course will be relocating the panels so as not to block residences views. We had been considering solar for a number of years and had gotten a couple of estimates before we talked with Sunworks. Each of the earlier companies spent a great deal of time trying to convince us that the best solution was to lease the system and not buy it. Their reasoning was that we would be responsible for repairs to the system and that the replacement of the inverter was extraordinary. When Brad visited it was good to learn of the 25-year warranty on ALL of the components, and his recommendation that we avoid the lease concept made the most sense as leases can make it difficult to sell your home should you choose to do so. We then compared the costs and found the Sunworks price to be very competitive and the technology they recommended was superior to many of the companies. We then reviewed their contract and found a couple of things that we wished to have changed and without hesitation they agreed to make these minor changes. Following this, they arranged to have their engineer come to review our home to determine the best installation solution. This individual could not have been more professional. He answered our questions and clearly gave us excellent advice. Following this, they scheduled our installation almost immediately. The crew showed up promptly, they were professional in everything they did, they completed the installation in just two days, they came prepared with replacement roofing tiles that matched our existing roof just in case some broke while they were doing the installation and left us the spare tiles when they finished. In short, the whole experience was excellent and we now have an operable system that so far has generated far more power than we are using even during the hot months of the summer. As soon as I found SUNworks, I immediately divorced PG&E. It really pencils out to make the change. After interviewing 6 solar companies, myself and several friends are very happy we chose so wisely and carefully in SUNworks. Things to know about these guys that aren't applicable to the competitors....all American made product right down to the SMA inverter made in Rocklin! That was so important to me. my Sales person Brent Baker was a "solar bible" on the product and how financing could work through Placer County EmPower had I chose to go that way. Sometimes it's all about financing right? I'm buying the system, not leasing. That means when or if I sell my home, the new buying won't have to qualify separately for the solar lease, most companies don't explain that from what I've been hearing. Everything they did is guaranteed/warrantied for 25 years. That is pretty darn amazing. Every employee that I met and spoke with did exactly what they said they would do, when they said they would do it, cleaned up every little mess, replaced any tiles, painted any little scratches, their attention to detail and customer satisfaction is a 10! Just saying. As a business owner in Roseville for 21 years, customer service is something easy to spot, hard to deliver and even harder to consistently deliver. SUNworks has always made me look great to all who I've happily referred because they deliver big! Remember, when you shop for a service that entails people walking on your roof, digging around in your attic and installing electrical equipment, don't mess around, Emil and the folks at SUNworks were the most qualified, experienced and knowledgable out of the 6 local companies that I interviewed. SUNWORKS IS AWESOME!!! My wife and I decided to have solar installed on our home in 2017. The project was completed and we went live on November 5th, 2017. It was one of the best investments we have made. Now in 2018 we are having Sunworks install a battery backup system for our solar. My main reason for writing this review is to let anyone who is thinking about having solar installed, to give Sunworks a call. Our entire experience with Sunworks was fantastic from start to finish. They took care of everything and kept us informed every step of the way. I really want to thank some very key people at Sunworks that we got to know through the process. Tony, our sales person was really good and explained everything we needed to know in selecting the type and size of system for our home. Yolanda Foster was our main contact throughout the project and is again now for our battery back up system. Concerned about the PGE PSPS that were threatening to leave my home without power for 3-7 days during fire season every year, convinced me I should purchase solar panels and a battery to rely on when PGE cut the power and to eliminate having to pay their ever increasing electricity bills. I went on Energy Sage and entered the particulars for my situation and the salesperson from Sunworks,Joe Antekier, reached out. Joe was like no salesperson I have ever encountered! He was never pushy, always kind, knowledgeable and patient. I feel like I have made a friend. The crew in customer service were always helpful and informative. Yolanda who schedules the site visits and coordinates with the City permit department was always eager to help. Alejandro and his crew respected my property, showed up when scheduled and knew what they were doing. I never felt concerned about their expertise. All City inspections were immediately approved. I had some issues with connecting the Tesla Gateway to the internet and Sunworks sent Viktor all the way from Roseville to SJ to help me. Amazing!! He got the job done and personalized the connection for me using the devices available in my home. My system is up and running since Oct 16th. To avoid feeling like it is a "bait and switch" has befallen you. A near miss today. Solution: ---Make sure your first invoice matches the next one generated later-- ---To avoid confusion once the parts arrive, since ours did not-- After the salesperson implies and /or promises you something, do your homework to be certain the parts actually fit the description they indicated, as far as color, size, and efficiency. Update: OK, it seems the company (SUNworks) is better than the individual parts, and after subsequent discussions an experienced individual we are happy with what we are receiving as far as the central inverter, power optimizers, and panels. I truly wanted to support a company (SUNworks) from my last hometown (Roseville), and also wanted to support a company (SUNworks) that is advertised on my favorite radio show (A & G) as well. Advice that has nothing to do with SUNworks, although they helped educate me on this subject. Please do not fall for "oh you have to have micro-inverters under each panel instead of a central Inverter". This is a subject where you require a lot of input and self-study on before you leap into a decision that you won't be able to reverse, once made. I was on the "micro-inverter" bandwagon, and I it took a lot for me to get on-board with a "central inverter w/power optimizers". Good luck in your path to solar. read more

Recently, we had Sun Works install our solar system. We were very impressive with the entire operation from start to finish. The sales team was very informative and answered all of our questions. We were very impressed with the timeliness of the project. The design team came out when expected and spent time with us answering more questions that we had at the time. They told us when we would receive a copy of the proposed design and it was sent via email within a week or so and it was on time. The installation team was excellent as well, very timely, and they spent the majority of one day installing our system and, again, answered any questions that we had that day. While the entire project was done very professionally, the staff in their offices went above the call of duty on a regular basis making sure we were satisfied. I was very impressed with two of their office staff: Adriana and Yolanda as they reached out numerous times to make sure all questions were answered and we were hooked up with PGE and given permission to operate. This is an expensive venture and we take it very seriously. In the end, they answered all of our questions and I am convinced they will answer future questions as well. read more

I have spent much of my life associated with the construction industry, and I am in technology - so the intersection of finding a company to install solar was an interesting challenge - tons of installers, and lots of hardware and designs to consider. After a detailed analysis I chose SunWorks here in Sacramento and they exceeded all my expectations. 1) Clear proposal and communications throughout the project 2) Extremely professional installation team 3) First class installation - done right, no short cuts. 4) A great balance of value in the product offering (panels, inverters) 5) Highest quality components, especially the SolarEdge Inverter 6) A 25 year warranty - so we all realize companies come and go and a warranty is only as good as the company offering and being around XX years from now - SunWorks is a NASDAQ traded company, so the likelihood they will be in business is certainly greater than a non-public company. 7) Proof is in the power and all the panels are running above expected peak output - hard to argue with that. 8) A nice webpage to monitor my system. 9) Highly competitive price Have to give them a 10 and gladly recommend them to anyone considering the move to solar. read more

I seldom post on Yelp but my experience with this company merits a review. The contact person, Jeff Carlisle, was professional, informative, and not a hard sell like many of the other solar salespeople. He monitored all aspects of the project and responded promptly to my questions. All timelines were met; from the date of signing the contract to final approval by PGE for permission to operate was only six weeks. The installers were very courteous and efficient as was the employee who met with the City Inspector. Sunworks also has an employee who specifically follows up on the permitting process with PGE--the turnaround time for that process was only two weeks. Assistance was also provided for setting up the monitoring system. So far the system is generating sufficient power to meet our needs, even though we are only six weeks from the winter solstice. I researched many companies and received several bids before deciding to go with Sunworks. Their 25 year warranty is among the best in the business. Their price was competitive, considering the quality of the components and anticipated generation. If you have decided to go solar, I highly recommend this company. read more

They have great relationships with the City of Roseville and Roseville Electric Solar operations. From the date my contract was signed with Sunworks to the date I received permission to operate it took only 30 days. It was lovely seeing everyone work so well together. Like a eloquent symphony. Anyone reading this 'Go Solar!' & may you have the same fabulous experience that I did. 1st Post: I had Exceptional Customer Service from Trevor Mickelson during my bidding process. I had 40-50 questions that were completely answered. He comprehended my financial obligations & understood why a purchase agreement was the only way I could break even prior to the warranty period. My home is small & I'd been frugal with electric usage, but with solar I look forward to running the AC at a lower temp. I look forward to my solar installation. I look forward to the energy rebate & federal tax credit. I might not have gone solar without them. Great job on providing excellent customer service. A measure of how much we liked our SUNworks installation is that we highly recommended them to a good friend who is now also very satisfied with his installation. From start to finish, Mike Del Vecchio, Vince, and the rest of the team went the extra mile to have us satisfied. For instance when our installation couldn't connect with their neat monitoring web site, their tech came out and ultimately installed a new WIFI router for us because ours was an earlier generation and couldn't communicate with the inverter software. All part of the deal. Also, we did take advantage of their great referral program, and the rebate was as promised plus an unexpected great additional bonus. I always hesitate to give 5 out of 5 stars, but for our installation, they deserve it. I do notice that the couple of reviews that were not excellent were rated very low, both for the initial sales contact process. A friend had a similar experience where SUNworks dropped the ball in the initial sales contact process, and that is something they should address. Again, in our case they couldn't have been more attentive to our needs and wants. read more

We have done two solar projects with Sunworks, two years apart. We were very pleased with the first project, so when we moved into a different house we called Sunworks to have them install a second system there. Everything went smoothly until the installation was completed, and we were denied the interconnection by Pacific Power, who was requiring us to pay $42,000 for a deadline checker to their substation. Several individuals at Sunworks went to bat for us with Pacific Power, but got nowhere. When everyone was ready to give up on the project, ourselves included, we decided to give it one last push. Yolanda Foster and Chad Reese listened to us, followed up on some new information, and 10 months after our install we gained approval from Pacific Power without the excessive system upgrade. We were finally able to turn the system on! We would definitely recommend Sunworks for your solar project. The sales people are knowledgeable, the installers are thorough and professional, all permitting was handled quickly, and we believe they will no longer install until they have the interconnection approval! read more

Purchased our solar panels from Mike Del Vecchio, who was a great guy and went around our schedule to go over everything. Mike did a great job explaining the different types of panels available and hitting it home with the industry leading warranty of 25 years that covers everything. He even helped us setup and deal with the financing aspect. The install crew showed up 30 minutes early and finished 4 hours early! They were all super nice guys who were prompt, courteous and were even able to hide the power cable in our wall so there is nothing extra on the exterior of our house. I live in an area with HOA and SunWorks took care of all the paperwork, permitting and filing. All we had to do was make sure we were home when the inspectors and SMUD came by. Communication throughout the project was top notch, and it started at the very beginning. I highly recommend SunWorks if you are looking to get into solar, they have the best warranty, the best panels (half the amount required for the same output that others supply) and just a top notch team to deal with in all facets. read more

My wife and I had spent a couple of years talking with different companies, to get an idea of what would fit our needs for going solar. At first we were left a little confused by how the plans varied and also by the outlandish quotes we received, and had given up looking at solar. But with the continuing higher bills we were paying to PG&E, we decided to re-evaluate going solar. About this same time, we heard an ad for SUNworks Solar on our local radio station. We scheduled an appointment with SUNworks and they explained everything, from what our needs were, by comparing our yearly usage, to how the equipment worked and ideas of how to finance it. We were very happy with their proposal, the installation was neat and professional, and we have been enjoying seeing what we save each month since April of 2015. Sure, you give up one bill for another, but our payments are a lot less than the monthly utility bill was, and the system will be paid for in a few years. Sales was well explained. Tesla battery capabilities were well explained. Design team needed to be better informed concerning the battery installation requirements. They did not anticipate wall vs. floor installation, or how to address water downspout drainage. Installers exceeded my expectations. They clearly explained the battery placement requirements. Their install required working in tight quarters with a couple tight conduit runs. The installation was "very clean" with fine workmanship. Obtaining the SGIP rebate was very difficult. Setting up inspections with PGE, and independent 3rd parties was difficult. I am unsure if this was due to Covid, wildfires, PGE or all of the above. Wanted to have our system up and running for sometime before reviewing SunWorks. When we decided to consider putting in a solar system we got estimates and talked to 3 other companies before ultimately choosing to go with Sunworks. SunWorks bid was not only the best price of the others before the rebates and specials but also they were able to get the system installed sooner as well. We live in a community with an HOA and SunWorks handled the permitting for the HOA and the city. The installation crew were professional and quick. The data line for the inverter was the only thing that was installed wrong and it was resolved. We got the incentive from their advertised special as well as the SMUD rebate quickly. I have since called them twice. Once for a data outage that was caused by the company that hosts the inverter software and once to verify the solar output and both times they have been very helpful. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

We worked with Sunworks for installation of our solar panels and Tesla battery back-up. After interviewing several companies we selected Sunworks for the following reasons: 1. They were one of the only, if not the only company, who could do a ground-mounted installation for our solar panels. 2. Their field technicians were easy to work with and knew what to do to install the solar panels and batteries. 3. Sunworks had one of the best rebate offer, in addition to the Federal and PG&E rebate programs. 4. When there were glitches in any part of the installation and rebate processing, they were willing to correct the glitches quickly and efficiently. Most important was they were very accommodating. In particular, Dan Dawkins was most helpful in getting our PG&E rebate for installation of the batteries as the PG&E process was quite tedious. SUNWorks was extremely easy to deal with. Their Sales staff was very helpful, explained everything, and no hard sell technique. After we decided to go with Sun Works, a simple deposit of $1000.00 got the whole process initiated. Behind the scenes they got HOA approval, city permits, designed the system to our needs, assembled the necessary components, and then in one day installed the entire system. We are averaging almost 40KWH per day for the last month, except for the day it rained. Two follow up visits, one with the electrician, and one from Constance were very helpful in answering our questions and addressing our needs. Our only solar system, but the process was easy. Other companies tried the hard sell, tried to undercut SunWosrks bid, after their bid was higher.
