Our first room had toilet leaking issues, lots of bugs and the room smell was not bearable for my friend and I. The lovely manager helped us get another room which we really appreciated! She was so kind and awesome with diffusing the issue. This is the person you want guests to interact with at all times. She put us first we appreciate it. The person that came to fix the toilet was also kind but I wish the bathroom could've been cleaned afterwards. Our second room still decent with some bug issues but we didn't complain to staff and dealt with it. We dealt with housekeeping issues (calling and texting multiple times for items to be replenished even though the room was cleaned earlier with no immediate feedback causing delays).

Within an hour of arriving and unpacking, I placed a cup of tea on the nightstand and returned to find it covered in ants. Not a few--enough to make it immediately clear there was a pest issue. As a frequent traveler and Hilton Diamond member, I have never encountered anything like this at a brand I trust. I contacted the front desk right away to request a room change, only to be told the hotel was sold out. When I asked about checking out, I was informed I would still be charged unless management decided otherwise in the morning. After a long day of travel, all I wanted was to rest. Instead of offering a meaningful solution, they sent maintenance to spray bug killer in the room. Being expected to stay in a room with active pests--and fresh chemical spray--while paying $140 for the night is unacceptable. Due to heavy rain, fatigue, and unfamiliarity with the area, I felt stuck and had no choice but to stay. I ended up trying to sleep while dealing with ants throughout the night, which is not something any guest should have to endure. This property has a serious cleanliness and maintenance issue and is in urgent need of renovation and proper pest control. I expect far better from Hilton, and this experience fell well below even basic standards. From broken cabinets, stained sheets and ANTS!

After a storm knocked out power in Annapolis for two days, we needed somewhere safe and cool to stay. Temperatures were high, and we had no choice but to find a hotel. What we didn't expect was to be charged $988.51 for two nights. The normal rate here is around $166-$184 a night, which means two nights should have been roughly $237-$245. Instead, we were hit with a bill that was four times the standard cost. At a time when families everywhere are struggling financially, this felt like a punch in the gut. We trusted this brand. We've stayed here multiple times. But this experience made us feel taken advantage of during a vulnerable moment. We're deeply disappointed, and unless something changes, we'll be looking at other hotels in the future.

Yes, there are a few things that could use updating, but all in all my room with king bed was quite nice. The furniture was obviously older, with a few dings here and there. But the bed, although firm, was very comfortable for me - I can't stand furniture I sink into. The pillows had cases with the word "soft" or "firm", which is nice. Everything was spotless! The bathroom was definitely updated, and was not so small I couldn't turn around. Of course, it is also ADA compliant. I really appreciated all the grab bars! I am not disabled, just old & creaky ;) The water got hot quickly and had plenty of pressure, so the tub filled fast. And unlike the last tub in a hotel, which had grab bars, this one had water controller within easy reach while sitting. Nice. The fridge was apartment-sized, with a tiny freezer shelf. The microwave was also small, but adequate. I wish hotels wouldn't use Keurig coffeemakers due to the waste, but I brought my reuseable K-cup & grounds. The machine worked fine. There was a large flat screen TV and ... thinking ... either DirecTV or Comcast, I don't recall which. It had a cable guide and was easy to navigate. Breakfast was free, of course, and had a nice variety of hot and cold foods, breadstuffs, cereals, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, juices, etc. On Saturday I had a biscuit & half a ladle of sausage gravy, some crispy bacon, and scrambled eggs. All perfectly hot and tasty. I filled my commuter mug about halfway with some decaf, just to reheat what I made in the room. Sunday had similar offerings, although instead of scrambled eggs there were mini omelets with cheese; oh, and both days there were egg white veggie omelets. No bacon, but sausage links; there were also turkey sausage patties. I skipped the biscuit but did put a dab of sausage gravy over my links. Again, quite tasty and perfectly hot. I took a few photos of the breakfast seating because an earlier review complained that there wasn't enough. I saw two different families, one with 4 people and one with 5, sitting together. On Saturday evening, DD & DGD came to visit & swim. We had a nice time, for me because the water was actually warm enough for me to go in! I'm a big sissy about cold water ;) The jacuzzi was pleasantly hot and bubbly, too. I don't know what the room cost because it was a thank you staycation gift from DD & SIL. I can say that items in the snack bar are $$$, so better bring your chips & stuff with you! Or drive .3 mile to the Harris Teeter store that's just up the road! If you are considering staying at the Homewood Suites in Columbia/Maryland, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. This place is run-down, dirty, and severely neglected. The sole exception was a kind younger staff member wearing a heart sweater, who was genuinely polite and tried to be pleasant--a rare bright spot in an otherwise miserable interaction. After the front desk representative couldn't figure out how to process or handle our checkout, forcing us to use the Hilton App to buy another night. It was too hard a question for the app. So I walk up to the front desk even though I've checked in on the app. I asked the woman at the front desk can I check out a half an hour later. She says that would NOT be possible without talking to the housekeeping staff. FFS! I told her fine I'll check out at 11:00 and just wait downstairs. I get to my room and start unpacking. The side of the king bed closest to the bathroom has absolutely no charging capabilities. I have electronics and I also have a CPAP machine. Right now I have them charged on the other side of the bed. I'm not using my laptop nor my heating pad right now because I have run out of electrical outlets unless I want to trip in the middle of the night with a cord crossing the room. It is 2026 both sides of the bed should have charging an electrical plug-in capabilities. While it appears it's back from the road enough not to hear traffic, apparently removing mufflers is a thing in this town so I'm hearing cars, I'm hoping the muffler-less vehicles do not run all night. So no I don't recommend this particular Hampton inn. I can't see a time in the future where I will use this hotel again. This is not one star cuz at least the bed is comfortable. I'm grateful I'm only here for a single night before I go stay in Baltimore.

They had a TV with lots of channels , microwave , fridge etc. the real trouble started the next day morning . After 8 am we heard thumping noise outside and people were doing work .. construction work . It was irritating and unbearable noise levels . I wished they finished it in 30 mins but it kept going from 8 - 12 noon. Headache for all of us in the room. They didn't even mention it while checking in. Parking is wierd . With so much construction , there is hardly any parking available in the front . Had 2 tough days and we couldn't relax at all with the noise levels . Will never book this hotel again ...
