I have been going here since i was a kid, my grandma would take my brother and i every sunday for the ham and eggs plate, and it has not changed a bit wich is GREAT the food is amazing, the prices are perfect and you cant go wrong with ordering a fresh cold corona. i continue to show my freinds this place and new people, the waiters are the same people from when i was a kid and they are so nice and welcoming, i will continue to eat here and show my son once he is old enough how great the food is here :) read more

Had dinner at Super A's with my family. Ate outdoors due to COVID. Food was tasty and service was good. I asked about their desserts and our server said the caramel churros were one of the options. I ordered two, one for my husband and one to split with my daughter. When I bit into my half, I soon discovered that there was no caramel inside. It was a basic churro. They were $2 each and I was disappointed. I let our server know that the churros were plain and ordinary. He checked with management and later returned with an apology. He said that management was not willing to to do anything about the wrong dessert. I've been a patron at this restaurant for years. I didn't ask for the discount but I was disappointed that management was not willing to provide better customer service and comp the dessert, even though we spent over $50 on our entrees. For me it wasn't about the money I spent but more about the principal of the matter. Management made no effort to speak to us and to comp us for anything. A small gesture would have made all difference. Instead Super A's decided that my satisfaction was not important enough to earn my future business. By the way, I can get a better churro at Del Taco for a dollar with caramel in the center. read more

I love this place !!! I have been coming here for a long time now and every time my boyfriend and I come here we are always greeted by the best people!!! We come here so often that we bemake friends with everyone here . As soon as me and my boyfriend walk in here they already know what we like to drink and they have it ready for us!!! Their food is absolutely AMAZINGGGGGGG there Chilaquiles verdes ,their Al pastor tacos are another delicious thing and to top it off there Skillets AHHHH so flavorful !!!! We love coming here the service is GREAT the food is EVEN BETTER . We come here at least once a week but can you blame us ? Their beer is so cold that they pour it into a much colder cup and if you ask for it to be a michelada beer your in for something even more amazing!!! They also make my boyfriend and I a Mangoniada Margarita that is literally to die for !!! We can't ask for a better place than this place here. Everything is so delicious . Everyone is related (is a mom and pop place which are way better) family owned and family working makes you feel just like family. Yuck. I had high hopes as the atmosphere feels authentic to Mexico. I will start by saying the wait staff was great. Very nice and attentive. But! The food was bad. I went with the waiters recommendation and got a burrito. My friend got albondigas soup and fish tacos. The burrito was so dry, plain and flavorless, I asked for sauce on the side - it didn't help. The soup was literally broth with 2 meatballs and the fish was shredded mushy yuck. The "salsa" on the table with chips when you arrive was not salsa but instead a sauce that was heavy chipotile which I thought was odd to serve with chips. The water was good - they kept my glass full as I needed it while trying to choke down my dry burrito. Sorry Super A's - epic fail. read more

The best thing about this place... their beans. It seems as if it's hard to find a place that has really "authentic" beans without loosing flavor. I don't care for their chips or salsa (as it's an odd mix of pureed tomatoes and some sort of chile seed) but their guacamole is worthwhile. Service can be slow at times, but overall it's a good local and cheap bite. Open on Sundays too! read more

Super A's is middle of the road on most dishes with this exception - their PORK CHILI VERDE is THE BEST anywhere! Succulent cubed pork with a wonderful tangy, savory green sauce rich with spices, particularly clove. It's great every way they serve it. read more

If I didn't have to give a star I wouldn't but unfortunately to write a review you have to select a star which they DO NOT DESERVE!!!! Me, My Fiance, & My niece decided to stop since we were in the area of Costa Mesa and I checked Yelp for reviews they had decent stars I didn't really bother to look at comments we were starving... First of all they made us wait to be seated for 20 minutes which there was NOT many people and no one was in front of us, second they took our order and took so so so long to bring us our food ( around 45min or so) third it smelled so bad in there like vomit, last but not least our food was HORRIBLE I purchased the taco and sope plate my fiance purchased the chicken quesadilla plate and niece purchased the wet carne asada green burrito, hers was O.K. BUT SUPER SALTY.. It was NOT worth the money we spent I wish I had read these previous comments on here I will NEVER return back... I honestly don't know how they stay open. Good luck to whoever goes there in the future. One more thing Sadly I can't even give a good star for customer service, it was very poor. read more

Now we all know that Mexican restaurants are not hard to come by these days...but if you want to really enjoy some "down-home-mouth-watering-Mexicanos" this is the place!! I grew up around the corner and the location used to be a generic breakfast joint...and honestly...the "Super A" sign I drove by lately was a bit generic and never drew me in! But, I was in town visiting the fam and went to my old standby "Yelp" for some new recommendations. I could not believe this little gem is 2 mins away from my Mom's house. This is now going to be a regular favorite of my family and me when I'm in town. The food is downright delicious, authentic, plentiful and the refried beans made with Manteca are the real deal had my eyes rolling in back of my head!!! Everything we ordered was super Bueno!! If you're in the vicinity or just driving through...don't miss this place! BTW...the margaritas are awesome too!! read more

I came here thinking I'm going to get great tasting food like all the reviews say. Sadly we didn't even get that far. We stood at the hostess stand and watch several employees make eye contact but never bothered to come help seat us or acknowledge that we were standing there. I don't care how good your food is. I go here for lunch with my co workers and its pretty good food. The lunch specials are very affordable and filling. When we go for lunch, i can't wait for the complimentary chips, slasa, and bean dip to be brought out. I usually get the tamales, soup and tacos. The food is always good, but sometimes the tacos have too much sauce and it all falls apart ( it kind of defeats the purpose of eating tacos) Service is usually five stars, but when they get busier don't expect your drinks to be refilled until they come to clear your plates from the table. I think the guy who wrote the last review got his locations mixed up because this place (Fairview location) has the best Mexican food! The very authentic Ceviche de camarones is my absolute favorite item on the menu and I come here every visit I make to Orange County from Portland, just to have it! If you're not a seafood fan, try the chile verde tacos. Oh and make sure you ask for the marinated Zanahorias (or if you are afraid to pronounce that, just say carrots). They are marinated with jalapenos, so they are a little spicy! I even love the chips and salsa here and usually ask for seconds. Highly recommended and the service is great too!! Daughter and I were craving tacos, so we decided to try this place. Lucky for us, it was Tuesday and they had Taco Tuesday! We got it to go, and they were very generous with the carrots, chips, and salsa. The food was also very good. The santa ana location on bristol was much cleaner but started going to Costa Mesa after Bristol closed down. Wont go to the Costa Mesa location no more. my visit to super A's had some highs and lows. starting with the customer service that was top notch. Friendly and genuine. I ask a lot of questions when I eat some and every different employee I asked an opinion from they gave me a legit response on their recommended items. The chips were pretty standard but they bring a cup of salsa to your table as well as a little syrup dispenser filled with additional salsa so you can fill yourself back up if you run out......I like this often at Mexican places once your run out of salsa that's it good luck getting any more. I did three tacos to put it nicely skip the al pastor- it was super tomatoey and salty, however the carnitas were above average and the lengua was out of control good. almost tasted like prime rub very buttery.....so good. my biggest complaint about this place is that there was a lot of gnats inside. I am thinking it was because they had the front door wide open and now air curtain running to keep out the bugs. read more
