Some of the best taco's anywhere, especially in our area. Fresh pressed and cooked tortillas. Salsa galore, some in authentic Molcajete (lava rock pestle and mortar) that are included with the toppings. Pay in the new market then go outside to have your taco's made. In the market I usually get some fresh cooked Chicharrones and a raw jalapeño to go with my tacos. If you want chips you have to get them inside too and don't forget something to drink or you will be having to walk back to the market after eating some delicious hot salsa. Outside at the cooking area you hand over your receipt showing you paid then tell what kind of meats you like. They have tripas!! (machitos-tripas; cleaned boiled then fried small intestines that are delicious). Fresh cilantro is one of the toppings I love. They have a watery guacamole (perfectly tasty), whole pinto beans, fresh and cooked onions, cooked jalapeños as well as a great selection of salsa (green, red, ground, chunky) that are all included on the taco bar. The eating area consists of large picnic tables outside under a roof. I have frozen here in the wintertime and roasted in the summer eating the taco's I love. Tacos are the two dollar, not one dollar range but they are bigger than the $1 tacos found elsewhere. The fresh pressed tortilla, toppings and wonderful flavor make them well worth it. I like that the food preparers don't handle money but don't like walking uncovered between the store and the taco stand, especially when it's raining. I have a feeling that they are going to remodel or move the taco bar to fix these issues. This is a MUST HIT taco bar for our area- there is a taco truck in Willits that does better Carnitas but no tripas and no fresh tortillas. There is tin foil so you can take your goodies to go. This Hispanic market is awesome and their food is delicious. You order in the market and walk out to Primos bar. There's a really nice sweet lady making fresh tortillas who will take your receipt and prepare your food. We had the carne asada burrito and carnitas tacos. You have to order and pay inside the market at the grocery checkout, then take your receipt to the grill and tell them what kind of meat you want on your taco, burrito, quesadilla, etc. The tortillas are HAND MADE and SO DELICIOUS. We got 2 quesadillas (massive) and 1 taco for about $12. So much food for so little money. They'll even throw some grilled onions and jalepeño on top, plus there are salsas, cabbage, raw onion, and cilantro you can add yourself. This place has food that is outstanding. The barilla soup is hands down the best broth of this soup I've ever had. Stopped by because we were passing through and because of yelp reviews. Thanks to those who wrote about this place. The condiment bar is phenomenally fresh and exceptionally delicious. The best I've EVER had anywhere. Hands down. Maybe it's because they're next to the grocery but everything outstanding and looked like it was chopped or made within the hour and we got there an hour before they closed. We dropped by on a Sunday afternoon in March. This place is even a bit more confusing than was noted in other reviews. The food preparation and eating area is to the south of the market, in front of the bar. It looks like it is part of the bar, but it is in front. The entrance to the bar is to the south. The Mexican place is the front of the bar. There is now a covered eating place, too, so that's going to be good during Ukiah summer days. Go into the Super Chavez Market. They have the menus there. Place your order and pay for it. Take the receipt over to the Mexican restaurant and they will fix your food. We had the tacos and a Sunday special. It was all very good and the prices are quite reasonable. We enjoyed the sunshine out on the street-side tables. Give them a try! read more

Husband had pastor burrito and also said there was tons of fat chunks and was disappointed in the flavor. I've looked long and hard for a burrito this great. From the inside out this was perfect. My wife is pregnant with our first girl so strange cravings are the order of the day. Today a carne asada burrito was whispering in her ear. I jumped on Yelp and found this place. Got two carne asada super burritos. The cooked them fresh and they probably weighed about 4 pounds each. They were chocked full of tender beef, onion, fresh beans and rice and cilantro. The heat was there which never happens and they come with some wonderful homemade hot sauce. We were traveling through the area and checked Yelp for quick and dirty food suggestions and this place came up. Yeah, the layout is weird. You order at the grocery store next door, walk over to this cabana set up in front of an abandoned store of some sort, hand mamasita your receipt, and she puts your order together. She uses a grill, hot top, log cutting board and seriously old mortar and pestel, but what she does with the food is something special. I'm a bonified al Pastor nut, and this is hands down, the best pastor I've ever had. I've eaten all over the country, from the border towns of California through the central valley to Arizona and Texas, and nothing comes close. Seriously amazing flavors, balance, acidity, and texture. I got the 2 tacos with pastor, my wife got a carnitas burrito which was OK, but compared to my dish (with the green chile/cilantro/lime stuff on top) it paled in comparison. i thought i've eaten some good taco's before. i've been all over the west coast from tj to sd to the oc to san jo but who would've thunk the furthest northest place i'd eat a taco would be one of, if not the best taco, i've ever eaten. 1) hand rolled tortilla made on the spot 2) fresh meats from the market next store. 3) queso in the quesadilla (handmade) was fresh to death i am a believer chavez. i just ate there twice in a weekend and took a couple home for the drive back to sf. take that mission district.
