Amazing hot dog dive right off of the CT Turnpike. I got the Cincy Dog and my wife got the New Englander. The Cincy dog was great and reminded my of Skyline and Goldstar, two awesome chili places in Cincinnati. If I HAD to nit-pick I'd say they need to shred the cheese a little finer, but it's not a big deal and doesn't affect my overall rating of the place. The New England dog was good too and the homemade sweet relish was spot on. The fries are also very good and some of the best I've had. This is a hot dog place [in case you didn't figure that out from the name] ... and so take a hint and order one of their delicious dogs. All-beef, split and fried on the flat-top, and then smothered in fantastic toppings. Their chili is super duper good [see what I did there?? clever] and worthy of being placed on a dog. One dog + fries was enough to fill me up, though I easily could've dropped another dog and been comfortably full. Their fries are thin, crispy, and covered in salt and pepper -- uniquely different and quite good. If you happen to be from Philly and order one of their cheesesteaks, prepare to be disappointed. Excellent, unique, a must try if you're in the area. Ingredients are fresh and it shows. One of the owners is a culinary institute grad and his vision makes this place rock. I hate to say we have a favorite dog because they are all delicious. The Dixie is a must try. New englander, Chicago, Cincinnati are all great. The dog, toppings and fries are the stars of the show. Not impressed, family of 4 had 3 dogs (plain) Georgia red hot w/out relish, burger w cheese & onions, large fry, 2 vanilla shakes. All 3 dogs warm but just barely, in my opinion undercooked, my husband said burger was good, but this is supposed to be DDD great bc of hot dogs right?? Above meal cost $36. My advice is to order, at least once in a while, a plain hot dog without all the trimmings. With a plain hot dog, you can savor the flavor of the nicely grilled beef. Having said that, you can't go wrong with the Dixie Dog. It combines the hot dog, chile and freshly made cole slaw. I had another combination with all sorts of pickles and lettuce on it. It has it's devotees but I prefer the plain and the dixie dog. Guy Fieri has been here (it was filmed over 3 days. Guy showed up on day 3) and it is right off Exit 24 when you are traveling on 1-95 N. If you are traveling from NY to the beaches of NE and get hungry, stop at Super Duper. I went to read my review for Super Duper Weenie, and I discovered that I hadn't written one. How was this possible? I LOVE Super Duper Weenie. I would eat here everyday I was a Fairfieldite. Trevor's Top Food Establishments: 1. The Melting Pot 2. Gyu Kaku 3. Super Duper Weenie Hotdogs: As good as they get. The casing snaps when you bite into it. The bun is soft and fresh. Fries: Amazing, fresh, and crunchy. Made from real potatoes. In fact, if you go into the restroom, you can hear them slicing the potatoes. I think they must have the potato slicer on the other side of the wall. Cashier/Server: I have only seen two, and they are both nice, and very cute. Condiments: All of their condiments are fresh made by them. Drinks: You must get a milkshake. They are damn good. Get a small, its big enough, fatty. They also have a soda fountain, and in the cooler they have bottled cream soda, root beer, etc. I usually get a bottled rootbeer and a small chocolate shake. Buy a shirt. They are $15 I think, and are awesome. I wear it everywhere, including when I go to SDW. Parking is a bit of an issue, so I would recommending just parking across the street. SUPER DUPER! The last time I came here was when I was so small with my mom, I actually don't even remember it, just the stories she tells me about bringing me there. SO, when my daughter fell asleep in the car seat and hubs and I were hungry, LET'S RELIVE CHILDHOOD :D haha! SO, went in on a Saturday afternoon about an hour before close. Ordered a few dogs, didn't order any "specialty ones" but just whatever we wanted on top. Ketchup on one, coleslaw on another. They were delicious- but the real winner here are those FRENCH FRIES. Oh goodness they were amazing. The staff where you order were polite, and one young girl was training and giving it her best shot at working the register. The only reason I am docking this place 1 star is because damn you need to fix that parking lot. It is terrible. Fantastic hot dog place. Not quite as good as either Rawley's or Walter's, but that doesn't stop me from going here at all. Be sure to have the New Englander Hot Dog and a Californian Hot Dog with fries. You will walk out with a very satisfied stomach. The Chicken Tenders are also fantastic here. Following a college basketball game at Sacred Heart University, we were in need of a quick meal, and the pizza joint we picked was jammed. I knew there were a couple hot dog hot spots in the area, and Google led us to SDW. I knew about it, but the stars had never aligned before, but that night they were all in place for a great meal. I was so happy to find they had both a Chicago Dog and a Cincinnati Dog, made with CT made Hummel hot dogs!! Of course they have all the standard condiments, but I had never had this combo before, except when I have made them myself. I'd have to say both were very high quality replicas, but I could be wrong, very slight variations from those from their home cities. Looked this place up on yelp for lunch and the reviews brought me here. I came in and made my order after one other person. It then took 15 mins for them to prepare a burger and fries. DAMN!!! That's a good hot dog. It's also got a good assortment of other food - all the usual suspects for dog/burger joints. Yes it's on the small side. Yes the lot is small too. Yes it's worth the trek to Fairfield for the variety of dogs SDW has to offer. I've ran through the dog menu and it's hard to recommend just one so if you enter SDW just pick the one(s) that make your mouth water the most. If none of the dog varieties suit you, just mix and match the toppings yourself, you really can't go wrong. Fries are made on site and really good too!! Someday I'll try the other stuff on the menu but for now, we'll say that this hot dog hot spot is worth checking out - even if you are like me and cut across 2 lanes on 95 at the last second to get there. read more

As far as hotdogs go it was very good. I like the fresh toppings and the soda brand which I never heard of before (or remember the name). Everything tasted good and the I really liked the strange soda brand. I can get a good tasting meal for under $8, which is great. However I am no so sure hotdogs are healthy for you, so I limit my rating based on wanting to eat more heathy. However that said, I do eat there about once a month and I really enjoy it. It's fun fast food and it's not a big transnational corporate company, it's a local business. Connecticut's got a couple good hot dog places hidden in the woodwork; Super Duper Weenie is one of them. The hardest part about going here is figuring out what to have; everything on their menu looks (and tastes) incredible. Try to go before or after the lunch crowds. I've been a fan of Gary and company since their humble beginnings in a mobile food truck back in the 90's - so you know my love of this establishment is deeply rooted in nostalgia. That said, Super Duper Weenie will always be at the top of any fast-food hot dog list that I concoct. I can't imagine a trip back to CT without throwing back a New Yorker with a giant side of hand-cut fries. And if it's not a New Yorker, than maybe the Chicagoan, or the New Englander - honestly, I've had every named hot dog on the menu and they all deliver in their own little way. The food is greasy and really not good for your cholesterol but sometimes, that is just fine (and by sometimes...I mean every time). Usually I just get the California Dog (Chili and Onions) and Fries. If you want the best food experience, you shouldn't get it to-go. When the fries cool down, they are no where near as good. I have also sampled other items on the menu (Georgia Dog, Grilled Cheese, Philly Cheese Steak) and walked away with a smile. Located just off I95 in Farfield - this is a must-try place for hot dogs. They have an excellent array of hot dogs with location themed names (Chicagoan, Cinncintian, etc). The Georgia red hot is the only where the hot dog itself is different. I has an excellent kick and one of my favorites. I've noticed most of the ppl there ordered a plain hot dog with mustard or kraut mostly. Then we all roll in and order all 8 of their dogs, a philly cheesesteak with mayo and Mighty It, a sandwich. Here's a run down. After trying all 8, a few stood out, Chicago cause of the pickle. California cause it had a pretty decent chili. Georgia was spicy as all hell! well it had a good kick. The New Yorker was like eh. But you gotta give them an A for effort. the Dixie has coleslaw on it. wasn't my thing. Mighty It, was Sausage & Peppers, Onion, Cheese on Port Roll. Had a good kick, peppers and onions cooked and sweated perfectly. I can't handle spicy food, but hell I ate it anyways. Philly cheesesteak with mayo was weird, and different. Sorry Philly knows how to make their sandwiches so we'll leave it to them. Their chicken fingers were HUGE, dear god they're not fingers they're like tenders, no chicken boobies actually. Place gets crowded, but they have a separate area for eating, with a heater tacked up on the wall. a bit chilly but tasty.
