He took his time w/ all the areas that were on the menu for my appt. My favorite is the legs, especially the feet. After a work week, that's what I would appreciate. The back massage hurt a little, but I let him do his thing, because I knew I would appreciate it later & I SO did. The little hole, you rest your head in, didn't really help. At the end of my massage, I gave the massage therapist a 22% tip in cash, which is within all norms for massage tips, but he followed me out to the cashier to demand more! Loosens the bones at their joints. Meaning it can be painful in that "oh it hurts so good" way. Like this place because they are really good at THAT kind of massage. I have lower back issues and the usual computer worker issues. I know my knots will be gone whenever I come. The "foot massage" here is a full body work over. Here was today's sequence: feet in hot bath. Facial massage, neck, scalp, upper back and arms while face up, feet soaking. Then a wonderful deep foot massage. Then face down, a full work over on my back and hamstrings, like a deep tissue. Gets the job done. You're fully clothed in a large room. But the staff speaks in whispers and very sparingly. Does this consider fraud? When we two arrived at the place on 9 PM, the front desk lady asked us to pay first. The total was $40, we planned to pay by credit card. She swiped the card and ask us to enter the amount, we asked her if it is the total amount, she did not give a clear answer and picked up a phone call instead. While she was on the phone, she hurried us to enter the amount on the POS machine. We entered $50 because wanted to give the extra $10 as tips. However, she pressed the green enter button, and after the bill printed out, it was actually $90 ($40 service + $50 tip). We argued that this is not our intended amount of tips since we thought the amount we supposed to enter is the total amount. At first, she refused to refund us the money, she even blamed us that we entered the wrong number. After arguing awhile, she said she doesn't know how to refund. And finally, she wanted us to sign the bill and give us cash back. I interpret this as she wanted to trick us because she wanted us to sign the bill first, because she has NO actions to take out the cash and give to me. So, I asked where's the cash? She didn't give an answer but continue pushing me to sign the bill first. We were very upset and just left. I called the bank to dispute the charge, but the $90 was processing, so the bank told me it's still pending, but once it's processed then I can file a claim. We bought the $19.99 foot massage, which is actually a full body massage and not just a foot massage!! What a good deal. But if you are looking for a foot massage, then this isn't for you because I think they only spent 15 minutes massaging our feet. The rest of the 60 min time was on our faces, neck, arms, legs, and back. Also, the massage wasn't your high class massage with trained professional. I think it was semi people just doing random massaging vs. actually knowing where the pressure points are on your body to release stress. But overall, for the price, it was fine. Most massages for one hour at a legit spa would be well over $100. The other reasons this isn't a 5 star is because we didn't get a private room. There is a row of people lying down to get massages in a giant room. I thought it would be weird, but after I lied down...I forgot other people were there and semi fell asleep until some guy started snoring really loud. I also didn't give a 5 star because we didn't get asked if we wanted a male or female to do the massage. I got a male, which made it a little uncomfortable for me, I would've preferred a girl, especially because they get super personal doing a FULL body massage. I didn't expect so much massaging and thought it would just be my feet, but I was surprised - but also not mentally prepared. LOL. Full disclosure. I get a massage weekly, sometimes twice a week. I frequent all the reflexology spots from San Francisco to San Jose. Why? Because I like to get my foot rubbed. I've been here 6 times in the last 30 days and I was really enjoying my visits... Until last night. I have a long commute and like to end my day with a relaxing meditation time to myself. When I come here to have some 'me' time, I expect to get the relaxation I pay for. 15 minutes into my foot massage, the older front desk lady interrupted us and said she was going to switch my masseuse. I had a towel over my head and was confused. I didn't even get a chance to answer and they went ahead with a switcharoo. Oh boy.... Did this place take complete 180 degree. Not only did they switch masseuse but the dude I got was INCONSISTENT and disruptive. I thought to myself, "give it a moment, it will get better." It hurt like hell and get this, he would go from kneading to pounding to elbow to who knows what the f* he was doing. It was nowhere near relaxing. He pulled my neck muscle and I was in pain all night. After the massage, I told the front desk lady, "Please do not every pair me with that guy every again. He was painful and was very bad." The lady's response, "Tell him, otherwise he will keep going." Okay.... you right. I should've opened my damn mouth. So today, I thought to myself. "Okay, I will try this place once more because I had such a good experience the first 4 times, why not...right?" So I go in today and the lady remembers me from last night. I told her "Please do not pair me with that guy from last night. Anyone but him." So this dude enters and I'm pretty sure it was the same guy. But... I could not really tell because it was dark the night before -- all the guys have the same body build and similar facial features in the dark atmosphere. So I go and lay down and he starts on my head and.... boy oh boy... everything came back to me like a strobelight. I say to myself, "F*&* I don't want to be rude so should I just give him instructions like the lady said the night before.." He goes on to my arms and his hands are sweaty as sh*% no lotion but he starts to rub my arm, softly and then all of sudden grabbing my arm up and down, pull, pinch, all over the damn place. I told him can you please keep it consistent and stick to a level 7 deep pressure. He had no idea what I was talking about. I told him deeper, slowly and steady, please. No response. I wanted to cry. I told him to stop and please grab the front lady. I started to wipe myself with the towel from his sweat and almost cried at the feeling he left me. The lady then brought in a different person, who made everything a whole lot better. At the end of the massage, I was thankful so I gave the girl who massaged me $20 and tried to pay for my bill and the front desk lady says, "what about the other dude?" I said, "Excuse me? the other dude was bad and he almost made me cry." The lady then argues with me and does not want to give me back my credit card until I gave a tip. I gave a tip but damn... lady. He is probably the most professional and attentive accupressurist they have in staff. You can feel his attentiveness in every press, and he also checks in with you regularly to make sure the pressure is just right. This shows that he is someone who respects his clients and the work he does!this is especially rare when the massages starts at $20/hour. So be sure to tip him well! So, for testing purposes, I took the 60 min cheaper option and gave my babe the combo option while he was doing what guys do in uncomfortable places and looking at random things while their lady does the talking. So we get into this little enclosed area and start by the foot soak. Water was lukewarm and we weren't really covered up.
