I tried this place because I had a voucher from living social. Unfortunately it was not the experience I had hoped for. My purchase was a facial, foot soak and massage. I drive up, parked, and realized I was 20 minutes early but knew most places had forms to fill out so that would kill time. I walked in and sat in the lobby... And waited... And waited. It was now 20 minutes later. I could hear people laughing and chattering, my only hope was that the rooms were at least somewhat sound proof, (they weren't). I sat there watching those 20 minutes pass. Another 15 minutes go by, now I am starting to wonder what was going on. Not a soul in the lobby, but I can certainly hear them. Another 15 minutes go by, it's now a half hour past my appointment time. I'm starting to get frustrated. Another, yes I am not kidding, 15 minutes go by. I thought about getting up and walking down the tightly packed halls and knocking on a door but I didn't want to be rude to anyone else getting their paid package. I agree to myself if it hits one hour and no one comes to the lobby, I will leave. 7 minutes go by and a lady walks out and looks at me surprised, not a friendly greeting but a "uh, what are you doing here?". I told her I had an appointment about an hour ago, and that I have been siting here for 52 minutes, not including the 20 minutes I arrived earlier. She went to the small corner desk and handed me a sheet to fill out while she grabbed some grub. After I finished she looked at me and said "are you sure you have time?" That alone, should have made me want to go but I decided if I left I wouldn't come back so I regretfully agreed. The massage and foot soak were both fair. Nothing to write home about, I have had much better. I could tell she felt rushed probably because she was now running appointments together. I didn't feel relaxed at all. Highly disappointed. As for the facial, this was nice and it was a different lady. She was friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed at least the facial. My only comments would be its hard to relax with some much talking and I didn't see a great visible result the next day. I have gotten facials quite regularly and this place just didn't have any great after affect which would make me want to go back, it's was more of a soothing facial with no benefits. Overall, I didn't get the full massage time I had paid for and I was disappointed overall. I still left a decent tip, especially coming from the service industry this is always common practice for me. I wouldn't come back again, I paid for an experience and instead I got to wait about an hour + for my appointment, it was sloppy, rushed, and with the loud hallways chatter there was no way I could relax. The kicker? This was my birthday present I bought for myself, I really wanted a chance to unwind especially since at the time my grandfather was ill and I was exhausted from the emotional stress. What better way than a massage, foot soak and facial? I was wrong, dead wrong. Oh, and for those who complain about the call system. That was my experience. I called weeks and weeks, left voicemails, the lady on the phone was rather rude and told me flat out weekends are booked for the next few months. I was okay with that and booked a weekday. But it was frustrating as I had previously left several unreturned voicemails. Guess it's buyer beware. I've been hesitant to write this review. My first impressions were disappointing. I went there twice but only got one massage because of an administrative mix-up. I didn't check the reminder email that was sent to me until it was too late. Instead of a massage I was scheduled for, they had me down for a body wrap. I thought it was a mistake in the email, but there was no masseuse on site at the time. Inside, there was another lady who was also waiting for her massage. The poor girl at the desk was just as confused as the rest of us since their scheduling system was down that morning. I begrudgingly made the long drive back home and make an appointment for a future time. A few weeks later, I finally had the massage. It was okay. When it started, the pressure was a bit much for me, so I asked for medium pressure. That was much more relaxing that I almost fell asleep. Carol, the masseuse, was very nice, which was why I wasn't sure how to write this review. If it wasn't for a cheap Groupon deal, I would've been more annoyed with the scheduling problem. Like many of the other reviewers here, I first came here after purchasing a GroupOn. I left satisfied with the services; a massage, foot scrub and facial, and decided to come back for more. FACIALS - I've now had facials from both Ursula and Mehri. I was satisfied with both, but extremely happy with Mehri's detail and final product. My face has never felt so clean and refreshed! Mehri has a sweet disposition as well, and I enjoyed my time with her. MASSAGE - Carol knows her stuff and has a firmer hand as well. I usually like sports massages, since I'm fairly active. But I wanted something more relaxing and Carol knew just what to do. She focused on some of my knotted areas without taking away from a total body relaxation experience. Absolutely loved it! This place is nicely tucked away in the Irvington district of Fremont. Quiet, quaint, and most of all PRIVATE, like how a spa should be. I had a Groupon deal for an hour long Swedish massage, an hour long facial, and a half hour foot scrub/massage. They usually don't work on Sundays, but they were nice enough to make accommodations for the Groupon people. I met the owner, Carol, as soon as I entered the spa. She was so friendly: introduced herself, offered me hot tea, extremely professional, etc. Once changed, I had the foot soak first and the rest was incorporated into the massage time. She was sure to ask whether there was an area that I wanted her to focus the massage on, which was nice because standard massages don't work for everyone. I nearly fell asleep on the massage table. To say the least, it was incredibly comfortable. I had my facial done by Mehri. She was amazing! Asked me whether I had ever had a facial before and diagnosed what type of skin I had and how I should take care of it. She not only massaged my face, but also massaged my neck. I appreciated that a lot because I work on the computer most of the day at the office. My skin was very clean and even when she was done with me: face peel, masks, lotions, extraction, you name it. My husband got me a wonderful spa package from Le Soma Clinique. I use to think San Francisco had all of the best SPA's, but I was definitely wrong. Le Soma Clinique is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I loved everything about the place from the charming small town feel to the incredible service. I got this package: The Escape - Spa foot treatment, 60 min massage, 30 minute facial 2 hr - $140. This is really a great deal considering you get two hours of top notch service without the hassle of having to go to San Francisco and deal with snooty spa's. Ursula gave me my facial - she was really really really good! I asked her to explain what she was doing and she did exactly that without being to verbose. I like to know whats going on since she was applying a few different things to my face. I'm sure she would take out the explanations if you wanted her to. She was very careful when working with my skin and even suggested some great facial products. As another yelper said, she didn't push any products on me and even gave me some store brands that work well. Next up was the massage. WOWSERS - Carol is freakin amazing!!! She applied just the right amount of pressure and had a lot of great massage techniques that I've never seen before. I've been to a ton of massage places and spa's - and Carol is by far the best I've come across. Both Carol and Ursula didn't rush either! I had a 6:30pm appointment and didn't get out until after 9 or so. I appreciate that they didn't rush my appointment for the sake of going home. Carol and Ursula are both amazing at their jobs and highly recommend Le Soma Clinique. I bought two Groupons for this spa - one for a signature facial, another for a microdermabrasion oxygen infused facial. 11.14.2014 My first visit I opted to just do the simpler facial. Mehri was my esthetician and she was at the desk when I arrived. She handed me the form to fill out and once I completed it I pulled up my Groupon on my phone, and handed it over to be redeemed. She took me to the room and gave me a choice of wrap-arounds to change into. She explained that she had heated the bed and made sure that I was okay with that. i was. I like a nice heated bed. : ) Once she came back in, she told me that she would explain the steps and products she was using as she did so. I don't really need that much info. I know how a facial works. But I can understand why some people might want it. She addressed my pregnancy and assured me that all of their products are natural and that I had nothing to worry about as far as the baby. Great! Then Mehri told me that she didn't talk much during facials because she wanted clients to be able to relax. Fantastic! I strongly dislike talkative masseurs / estheticians. My whole point in being there is to relax, which is pretty difficult to do while having a conversation. Unfortunately, I think our opinions of quiet differ quite a bit. She wasn't a chatterbox, but I definitely could have a used a good deal more quiet. Still, she was very skilled at the actual service. When she analyzed my skin, she told me that it was mostly great (which I hear from allll the estheticians, tee hee) but said that I seemed a bit dehydrated and also a little dry from winter. I drink water like it's going out of style, so I was surprised by that - until I remembered that I had limited my water that morning because my bladder has no patience these days, and I knew I wouldn't make it through an hour service without needing to stop if I drank as much water as I wanted. Also, this is my first winter (I know, it's technically still fall, but still) in the Bay area after living in Los Angeles for the past 7.5 years, so I'm sure that my skin is adjusting a bit. I give her much credit for being astute. Ummm. I admit that I am more than a bit of a germaphobe. During the service, Mehri came around to the side of the bed to explain some things (more talking!) I was really bothered by her touching her face and her hair during this time, and there were multiple instances of this. I consoled myself with the thought that she was surely cleaning her hands with something before touching my face again. Right? I was very pleased with the way my skin looked afterwards. I will post this review once I've completed the second facial service. 12.19.14 For my second visit, I used my Groupon for the microdermabrasion oxygen infused facial. I very much enjoyed it. It was completely different than a standard facial, which possibly stood out more to me because it was my first time having this service done. It starts with the standard cleansing and a hot towel. Then Mehri used (what felt like) a very small, soft brush to spread the crystal cream on my face. Then she went over the skin with a wand a few times, which I imagine helps with the whole buffing/ exfoliation. It was an interesting and relaxing procedure. However, as before, Mehri did a fair amount of talking. I think it's just her personality, and she's a very nice woman, so I can't hold it against her too much. Overall, I would recommend Le Soma for facials. My only word of caution is that if you're looking for the classic silence during your treatment, you may not find it here. read more

The massage gets 3 stars, it was okay, BUT Carol did do some stretching/massage work with my arms/shoulder area that I have never had done before and it was great. The foot soak was just water in a bowl with rocks and salts, nothing special and kind of disappointing. When it came time to the actual foot massage, that was very nice and the warm towels around my feet were AMAZING. Unlike the other reviews in here, I LOVED THE FACIAL. 5 stars! I thought Ursula was great. I have only had 3 other facials in my life, but this one has been the best and my favorite so far. Ursula explained everything she was doing, made recommendations for my skin, and answered my questions about which products I should use. Totally loved it and would totally make the drive down to Fremont from Oakland for a facial with Ursula. I am glad it was a Groupon that introduced me to this place. I got a Groupon for $89 that included a facial, full body massage and foot scrub and boy was it worth it! But I'm getting ahead of myself, let me start at the beginning... I left my house with half an hour to spare to get from Sunnyvale to Fremont at 1pm on a Saturday. I didn't realize that I was supposed to take the Fremont Blvd (South) exit and instead drove all the way to the Fremont Blvd ( North) exit. Now before you start judging me on my stupidity for not using technology I'd like to add that my TomTom was stolen out of my car recently and I do not have a smart phone. Needless to say I ate up the extra half hour and then some. I arrived at my appointment 15 minutes late and flustered, but the receptionist was kind and understanding enough to usher me back to the facial treatment area with only a minor look of disapproval. The facial was very soothing and my skin has never been clearer. The full body massage was so relaxing I actually fell asleep. I've had massages many times before, and have never fallen asleep during one (there was that one time when I fell asleep afterwards, but that's for another review.. :) The spa has great ambiance and the music is serene and peaceful as well. The one thing that surprised me most, and earned this place 5 stars, is that they still honored the full 2 hours of my treatment time! I was prepared to loose the 15 minutes due to my tardiness, but they didn't even question it! I really appreciated that they stayed later to make sure I had a great experience and I made sure to tip them well for their hospitality. I would highly recommend this salon, even at the regular prices. My friend told me about this place since she had gotten previous online deals and each experience she loves it. She's been going back every since. So I finally bought a Living Social deal for a body wrap and facial back in March. So I called for an appointment but the receptionist didn't call me back till the next day. I've never done a body wrap before so I was a bit excited. Finding the place is a bit hard since it's right next to an apartment complex and shares the building with another business. My Living social deal also came with champagne but since I don't like champagne, I declined. I know, why give up a free drink? Anyway, Carol was the one that took care of me. She's actually the owner, which I didn't realize till after she provided me with her business card. The room was a good size and soft music was playing. Since it was a body wrap, they also provide you with disposable bra and panty. I didn't used it since I had brought extra undergarments (thanks to my friend who normally gets body wraps so I knew ahead of time). Carol did a wonderful job. Before she put a warm mixture on me prior to being wrapped, she politely asked me if the temperature was fine. Or she politely asked if this was okay to put on my body. The whole appointment was 90 minutes and it went by pretty fast. After the body wrap and facial was complete, she also gave me a little massage, which felt really good. Unfortunately I never got to try their services because after calling 15 TIMES to make an appointment and leaving numerous messages no one ever called me back. I called Amazon who promptly refunded my money. It sounds like the services are great if they bothered to answer their phone but I am too busy to make more than one call to schedule an appointment let alone 15 and not returning messages is unacceptable customer service. Cute little spa in a very unassuming Irvington neighborhood. Made reservations via Yelp prior to vacation arrival. Potential hiccup on the day of our appointments with a provider being sick but Carol found a replacement provider and we were off to a fantastic start to our vacation. Husband said his European facial (done by Carol) was the best facial he ever received. He kept telling me, "Look at how GREAT my skin looks!!" My 60 min deep tissue massage (I don't remember her name but she's the beautiful expectant angel) was pressure perfect and I loved how she instinctively knew to work my upper body more than the lower extremities. I purchased a Living Social deal for a bundled massage and facial package and immediately called to make an appointment with staff. Unfortunately, there wasn't a slot until a month later, but I made the appointment anyway and was really looking forward to getting in some relaxation. Fast forward to a day before the appointment, and I get a phone message and e-mail saying that the facial part of the appointment was cancelled, and I would have to come back a different day. The worst part? This call came at just after 5 PM, when my appointment was at 10 AM the next morning. When I called back, they were closed for the night (or didn't answer). When I spoke with staff the next morning there was was no offer for dates to reschedule the facial to, no offer to sub in a different treatment, and frankly, not a lot of caring about my wasted time and gas money to account for their mistake. I would give it no star if I could. I bought a voucher from Groupon and tried to call them millions of times in two days for appointment, but no one answered the phone. Then I went to the shop and made an appointment. But when I went to the shop at the appointment time, the shop was closed; someone called me an hour later and told my wife that they already sent us email about changing the appointment to 10 am, but they are lying, I haven't seen any email from them. I would give a 5 but I plan to go back and so I will rate again. First, I am a bride-to-be in a few weeks. Things have been getting stressful and I needed to relax. I have only had one facial, prior/elsewhere, and it was a horrible experience! On the other hand, I have frequented massages and I know what I do and do not like. Last night I got the 1 hour facial and 1 hour massage w/foot treatment... devine! My downs first: 1. It was a little confusing trying to find the place (mainly because of my GPS), but once I got there it is like a residential building but in an office...nice setting. The big door said the name but once inside there were several doors to choose from (of course I didn't pay attention to the fact that it was Ste 4)but I noticed one door (on the left)was cracked open and I knocked and went in and it was the right place. 2. In between my facial and massage I had a longer than I wanted wait but it wasn't terrible, my feet were soaking and I had tea (also had an option for water). So as you can see my downs aren't bad, more just me. *It is good to thoroughly prepare. Know what you want! My ups: My facial was first with Ursula, excellent! Especially since my only other facial (elsewhere in Phoenix, AZ which is also now closed down) was horrific and I was a bit hesitant. She has a calm demeanor which helped with the relaxation. She asked about certain things and suggested certain things as far as what I should do for treatment (I have some scarring from acne). As she did my facial, she would calmly tell me each thing she was going to do "cleanse...etc." It was nice and I liked it personally (not a fan of surprises). I can't wait to go back for another facial. My face is not super red from the peel, it feels refreshed and most of the blackheads from my nose are gone (My nose is filled with tiny little blackheads...I know sounds gross...worse than it looked but now sooo much better!) I cannot wait to get another facial (did I already say that). My massage started with a foot soak and then, she left the room so I could de-robe. When she came back, Carol asked me what I would like her to focus on; as a Zumba instructor and a heavy chested gal, I asked for the back. Can I say this well, petite, built woman has the hands of wonderfulness. I'm not a huge fan of deep tissue but I also don't like light hands. She had a great combination of both and asked if the pressure was good...the pressure was great! I am usually very ticklish (on my legs) but I was able to maintain composure as the pressure was excellent. The foot treatment was excellent. She focused on the back and it made a huge difference today but all over she did a great job, by far my favorite massage! I recently moved back to Fremont after living in LA for a few years, where spas are a dime a dozen, and it has been extremely difficult to find a clean, cute, and relaxing place to get my facials in Fremont. I got a groupon for a massage with Carol and facial with Mehri, and I couldn't be happier! I gave this place a shot, and I was SO pleasantly surprised by both Carol and Mehri. Carol's massage was fantastic and so relaxing! I always have neck and shoulder pain, but I felt amazing after my massage. Mehri was also amazing! She took her time and it was clear that she had lots of knowledge and experience with skin (she actually trained and worked in Europe previously). Overall, her work was excellent... I always have a ton of blackheads, and she took so much time to make sure my face was flawless. I instantly noticed a fresh glow after my facial, and I was so relaxed throughout the facial that I felt like I would fall asleep any second! I've never reviewed anything on Yelp, but the review on Mehri below is so completely inaccurate, that it prompted me to speak up and let everyone know Mehri is excellent. I have never really had a problem with scheduling appointments which I think is a plus. I've tried a lot of online deals and many times, I have issues with scheduling because the store is unable to accommodate all the offers they offered. I've several service here at Le Soma Clinique. I've tried the facial, massage, eye brow wax, and the pineapple and detox body wrap. I like the detox body wrap the most. I even started using Yonka, the brand that was recommended for my skin. I usually ask for Carol because I like how she is very attentative, polite, and accommodating. I purchased a Groupon or Amazon local deal. Big mistake. Never again. The masseuse was plain rude when i got there i was about 5 min late as i couldn't find the place, i was driving around in circles and called them to let them know. The masseuse told me i had to hurry so i could get to my facial appointment (because as i was late), so for, the foot treatment - I put my feet into a large bowl of water, then had a foot scrub, i would have skipped this to make up the 5 min i was late, had i have known it was going to take about 20min - water was cold by the time she came to get me. The massage was below average, it was a back rub, absolutely no technique. She clearly shouldn't be working in the service industry. The esthetician was friendly, nice lady, no initial observation, she cleaned my face, no extractions, left me in the room for a while with some sort of cream/ mask on - didn't explain what she was doing, she made no recommendations. I guess you get what you pay for. Never again. read more

I love this place! My husband comes here for massages, and I come for facials. I have super sensitive red head skin, so I have high standards for facials. Carol is the only one I've been to in the Bay Area where I come out less pink than when I go in =). My husband is quite happy with the massages as well. I wish I could get here more often, but life is so busy. read more

I came here after getting a Living Social deal for my birthday. Booking the appointment was easy; after reading some of the reviews I was a little scared this would be one of those places where I would have to wait for a month for an appointment, but they offered an appointment as soon as two days after I called. First I had a facial with Mehri, and the first thing I noticed when we shook hands was how soft her hands were. I told her this was my first facial and that I was pretty tired that day so I would probably fall asleep, so she told me that she would keep the talking to a minimum. The only time she talked was when she was explaining to me the details of my skin (I got scolded for the scars from popping pimples :p). Her facial was amazing and she was so sweet, a perfect experience for my first facial. After that Mehri poured me a glass a champagne and waited with me for Carol to finish up another client's massage. I can't say much about the massage because I fell asleep for most of it lol. But from what I was awake for I remember that Carol was a bit too strong for me at first, but after she asked about the pressure it was fine. I left the spa feeling so relaxed after that I had to sit in my car for a bit to wake myself up. read more
