I had been coming here for over 2 years and had enjoyed my experience until the past 6-7 months. 6 months ago we frequented this AYCE sushi restaurant. The service was terrible. It took almost 10 minutes to place our first order, and then every subsequent order after that slowed down until we were waiting almost half an hour for 2 rolls and an appetizer. We decided after this point we would give them another try or two before writing them off. This was our go to AYCE sushi restaurant and we both enjoyed coming here. Fast forward 3 months and we decided to give them another go. The service was the same, being terrible, but something else happened. The staff didn't seem to care that the food was slow, our orders started coming out wrong, and what did come out correctly DID NOT taste good. I understand the type of sushi I am to expect from an AYCE place, but I expect it to taste passable for quality sushi. The Tuna appetizer was DRY and the sauce tasted spoiled. The sushi rice didn't clump together on our rolls or nigiri. The "crab nigiri" was so sloppy it actually arrived in pieces, fake crab and all falling apart. I would like to add that this wasn't that busy of a night. We thought this would be our last experience here, and stopped coming until recently. 4 months after the previous incident, totally 7+ months of time for this place to shape up. We walked in, greeted quickly and seated. We then watched as 4 of the waitstaff for the back area near the sushi bar walked in circles. There was a group of 4, a party of 7 or 8, and two couples including us. We waited over 10 minutes for someone to come take our drink order or acknowledge our existence. It didn't happen. We got up and left. I will never return to this place and you shouldn't either. The sushi is poor quality, the service is poor quality, and they charge comparable prices to other competitors (within minutes of driving). Save yourself the time and money. read more

The decor in this establishment is very inviting as you walk through the front door. I had the super ninja special, chicken, steak, and shrimp. The cookout on a great show which included jokes and sake to boot. The food was amazing and service was exceptional from the cook. This is my 3rd time coming here and every meal is just as good, if not better than the last. Staff is very friendly and the food is on point. Last two trips I got the hibachi steak meal and it was very good. This time I tried their general TSO chicken and I can say I won't be ordering that anywhere else. Their general TSO meal is my new favorite. During covid we still get to sit with the chef at the hibachi table and the food is cooked in front of you. Other hibachi restaurants in the VA beach area aren't doing the same. This restaurant doesn't upcharge for things that should be included in your meal, like fried rice....(sumo Japanese steak house will charge you). We live 25min away and make the drive everything because its worth it. Highly recommend. read more

Tonight we had hibachi at Super Ninja, the food was fantastic, the Chef was great, and the greeting staff were all so friendly. What was terrible is the service. The wait staff, never refilled our drinks, the people in my party were going up to the bar themselves to get drinks. This place always has terrible service. You have to go and find your wait staff or bartender. I could not eat the Pad Thai because it smelled so bad. The waitress tried to give me a ridiculous culinary lesson about why it smelled bad, that they use fish oil at their restaurant instead of some other ingredient most Thai places use. Well, I'm sorry but if my food smells like a horse stable, I don't care what the reason is, I physically cannot eat it. Everything else on the plate tasted strange or had a weird texture. I came here recently for the first time in several years because of a birthday party. The reason I avoided coming here for so long was because the staff was so rude. They would rarely show up when I wanted to order more from the AYCE sushi menu or get a refill on my drink. They only seemed to quickly come to our table when I would give a bite of sushi to someone who didn't order AYCE sushi to warn me of an up-charge for doing so. Anyways, I came with high hopes of having a better experience that I did in the past. We did the hibachi dinner this time. The staff was a whole lot friendlier this time and the chef did a great job at entertaining us while preparing the food. I ordered the chicken hibachi. The food was just okay; it was actually a little too salty for my liking. The portions were large so I only finished about half of my meal. I did enjoy a Volcano cocktail (I forgot the name) I ordered! My biggest issue I had was that my boyfriend got very sick after eating here. I also had a bad stomach ache after leaving. This is the first time either one of us had experienced this from dining here. We will not be returning anymore. read more

I was super impressed by the friendliness we experienced. My Aunt and I came in just before closing and we were seated and served right away. The waitress wasn't as friendly but she wasn't rude either, maybe she was just tired. The food was okay, typical hibachi. The ginger sauce reminded me more of the salad dressing than the sauce I typically find at these places, I didn't taste the yum yum. Shrimp were a good size but I felt cheated when the chef threw a raw piece of cold broccoli in the air instead of a piece of shrimp. Meh. Portions were good size. Salmon was seasoned well. My Mai Tai was refreshing, but a little weak. This was surprising because the bar tender called it his favorite. It seemed like it was missing something. They were also out of plum wine but I'll let this slide since it was so late. I discounted my rating for cleanliness.. the grill was dirty when he started cooking on it even though he wiped it off, it required a good scrub. Whatever was stuck on there ended up in our food. This in turn just made me feel icky about the cleanliness of everything else inside the venue. I'm really only ranking them so high because the people up front were so nice! Weird smell when we walked in around 5pm for dinner on a Tuesday night. Service was prompt when we first got there, but like previous reviews were written, the staff isn't the friendliest when it comes to refills or servicing. The food was good, we ordered the steak and shrimp combination dinner. I was confused about the "two shrimp" appetizer that was listed on the menu, and when I asked the waitress she didn't know either. This place is subpar. The sushi quality has gone down in the past year. Ordered the twin tower roll and the shrimp tempura barely had shrimp in it. Worst customer service. Ever. We went because someone in our party has been before and said it was decent. It was 5 adults, 1 kid. They said the wait was going to be 20 minutes. No biggie, it's Friday night. Totally understandable. 25 minutes later or some, the hostess said Theres a table near the bar if we wanted to sit there. We said sure! As we sit down, she says nevermind, it's not convenient for the server to come all the way over here. No biggie. Totally understandable. She said there's two tables that opened up and we can sit in the main dining area. We go there and we said can put these two tables together? And said sure and we all helped her push the tables together. The couple in the booth behind it smiled and was all for it. Not 1 minute later the server comes rushing out and yelling Outloud towards the hostess, you can't do that! Servers can't get go the other table ( points at that couple in the booth). She then says its two tables and they have to sit at two tables. First off, you didn't even ask if we minded if we did. But we're having a family dinner together, why on earth would we sit at two different tables? That asian waitress was so rude and caused quite an embarrassment to us. she could've either pulled the host to the side and yelled at her in private or just simply ask us, do you mind? But nooo, you just start pointing and being so attitudy. I even asked her, excuse me but why would we come here to eat together to eat at separate tables? Awkward! We didn't rush anyone, we didn't ask for anything. All we wanted was to eat sushi! Someone in our party was really upset and said lets just leave if they don't want our business. So I didn't get a chance to even ask for a manager. Whoever that waitress was (geeeez I pray that wasn't the manager herself because that's terrible problem solving skills) . The host was super nice and tried. Being that I work in the restaurant business as well, this was totally unacceptable. I feel bad for the patrons around us to witnessed all that too. I called ahead to make a reservation but turns out they don't make reservations anymore. We went on Father's Day and they didn't seem too busy at the time so we got seated within minutes. The All-You-Can eat started out okay but then it went downhill. We had a table of 12 and there were 2 servers. The woman was full of energy compared to the guy that took orders from our side of the table, honestly didn't look like he wanted to be there, also yawned every 5 minutes. We ordered our drinks and knew what we wanted to order. It took about 5-10 minutes for most of everyone's order to come out. We tried some sushi rolls. They weren't the best, there was more rice than filling in the rolls. My dad waited for his soup to come out for almost an hour but every thing else was brought out. The food was overall was okay. The gyozas were pretty standard and edible, their sexy jalapeno had pretty good flavor, their Japanese rice was overall the best (flavor-wise) but you could tell they put so much MSG because of how sleepy we felt after, the tuna didn't taste fresh, and my cousin was waiting for his drink for an hour. We ordered more food to try but it took forever to come out compared to the beginning. They give good sample sizes for the all you can eat so that you can keep ordering more but they are not consistent with the timing of serving them. At one point, we saw that the sushi rolls were ready but no server was around to bring it out to us. Fairly decent spot in the Landstown Commons Shopping Center. You'll find this near the ABC store across from IHOP. You have options. There's a hibachi side of the restaurant along with sushi available to order. The other side if I were to guess offers at least sushi... not sure about cooked foods. They offer an AYCE sushi for lunch and dinner but if you're inside the hibachi area the AYCE isn't available. In this instance you can order sushi by the piece, roll, etc. A bit of a bummer for me but I was with four others. We had the hibachi dinner. As usual, you get the nice show from the cook. He was entertaining, very nice but a little sloppy. There were a few times where a few things he was serving us spilled on the table. Still, the food was good. We went for the filet mignon and scallops. I asked for my filet to be rare but I think he let the steak cook for 30 seconds too long. It was good but I wanted it just a bit more rare. The scallops were pretty legit. A bit high on the butter mixed in to cook it but still very good. All in all, a decent experience. It's pretty hard to mess up hibachi. I am interested in trying the AYCE sushi in the future so I'll update my review when I visit them again. read more

Regrettable experience from start to finish. The service began with stale sweet tea and a server who whispered. She then disappeared never to reappear again. Our replacement server was burdened with the entire section and was completely overwhelmed. We had the All-You-Can eat sushi... While it may have been all you can eat, it looked like it was the leftovers from someone else's plate. The sushi fish had holes and tears in their flesh and the shrimp looked like they had scraped meat off to the point it was see-through. The rice was low grade and fell apart at the touch. Getting condiments was akin to asking for money and met with disdained from a random server who was appalled at our audacity to ask her for anything when she was not our server. While I wouldn't come here for the all you can eat sushi, the hibachi is great- especially for lunch. The lunch portions are large enough to share. They range from $7-$12. You also get the whole hibachi show for lunch so it's not a good idea if you're in a rush or want a quick lunch. Although the sign says they're open till 10, they can get attitude-y if you come in an hour before closing. The kid's portions ($6.50-$8.00 lunch, $8.50+ for dinner) are huge so definitely bring yo' kids here. read more

My husband and I decided to check this place out on a whim. It's been a while since we've had hibachi and we're really glad we stopped in here. We were immediately seated (2PM on a Sunday so it wasn't crowded) and placed our lunch orders. We got a California roll along with two hibachi lunches (soup for me, salad for him). The wait staff was very friendly (cracking jokes, talking, making conversation) and the chef was really polite and funny. And the food was great! I don't think there was one thing we didn't like about what we ordered. Our hibachi meals were cooked perfectly and the sushi was delicious. We left with very full bellies! It was also nice to receive a coupon for our next visit, which I'm sure we'll be using again soon. I'm ready to come back for dinner and try some of the AYCE sushi or hibachi! read more

Super friendly staff and good food. This is my first hibachi experience. It was entertaining. It was loud which is to be expected since it is an interactive experience so it's to be expected. If you have kids that aren't used to it than you might want to prepare them for the ambiance. There is a brief moment where the grill is purposely set ablaze.
