In one word...disappointing. I ordered the pulled pork tacos. It was $14 for three tiny tacos. They were bad. It was a tiny soft shell with slaw, cheese and maybe 0.5 ounces of pulled pork per taco. Kids got a pulled pork sandwich. One kids sandwich came with about 3x the meat of all three of my tacos. To make it even worst, for $14 I didn't even get a side or a drink. That said, the sides were pathetic. No fries. The chips were just a cheap bag of regular chips. I will say, the ribs are good. My son got the kids ribs. I should have done the same. Inside looks a little out of date and run down. Last time we were here was probably 10+ years ago. I feel like it was much better back then. Definitely won't be back. Food isn't that great. Faster than milkshake. I will attach pictures so you can see that ribs had no bbq sauce on it and are burnt. It's was super hard to chew. Taste was like they used liquid smoke. I had to ask for bbq sauce so I got couple plastic containers. Gumbo was pretty much mix of shredded chicken and green enchiladas sauce. Terrible food. Tried the Papa's Diner, which is a new innovation. Jeff Fitter and team have always rocked BBQ and Cajun, and now their breakfast menu has the same quality! The Hot Honey Chicken biscuit is a delicious piece of fried chicken with a spicy hot honey sauce served on a delicious biscuit with an egg and cheese. Generous portion of a breakfast sandwich that has a balance of all of the ingredients. The roasted potatoes are nicely seasoned and are a cut above regular hash browns or fried potatoes. First time at this location. The inside is basically like a diner, nothing fancy. They were not busy at all, maybe two other tables in the whole restaurant at 5 o'clock The waitress was very good. The food was just mediocre. It was burger week and we ordered their special burger with the pulled pork on it The Smokehouse Burger. It was pretty disappointing. The burger was really dry and tasted like it was just a frozen patty. Nothing fresh about it. We did split an order of their crinkle cut fries. These were really good. 6th time I've visited Papa's Diner/Super Smokers this year. Really good food, large portions and a top notch wait staff! Grandma's Chicken Fried Rice is an underrated dish that deserves top billing, three different cooks have prepared it for me and it never disappoints. Hot Honey chicken sandwich, one of the best in town! Pork Steak is always a solid option for taste and tenderness. Breakfast, Hot Honey Chicken Biscuit, Breakfast Bliss omelette, and the Southwestern omelette, always well prepared and tasty! Only disappointment on the menu for me is Mama's Meatloaf, it's very good, mashed potatoes and green beans are good. My issue is the portion of meatloaf is the size of a small muffin, about 3 bites. Ordered it three times (takeout) and my last order was even smaller. On my next visit I showed the waitress a picture of my last order and she told me that is their normal portion size of meatloaf. Well J must say...This place is a definite upgrade from their previous location. I would give them a perfect 5 stars, but I still feel like I am in a steak N Shake. lol. All of my food was very tasty and just what I would expect. The Mac n' cheese could use some yellow cheese in it, but it's still great. I also tried the Wildcat dip that hit the spot just perfectly. My aunt came to town and was staying at the KOA in Eureka so we drove out to Eureka for dinner. Wow were we impressed by the food!! We started with the boudin balls appetizer. It is really hard to find boudin balls on menus outside of Louisiana so we had to try them. Wow! So good! They come in a plate of 4 with template and brown mustard to dip. We found out that they make them in house, and apparently will make boudin empanadas from time to time, def want to come back to try those! I ordered the Queban Po Boy with a side of Mac n cheese. The sandwich had beautiful smoked hame and bbq pulled pork with pickles-- really tasty. I only ate half of it and saved the second half for lunch. The Mac n cheese is a tasty white sauce with shells and I nearly licked the bowl clean. My husband ordered the smoked half chicken with BBQ beans and the red beans and rice. The red beans and rice was easily the best I have had. Perfectly seasoned with every bite. The smoked chicken was good and not dry, a VERY common mistake for smoked chicken. Kids menu includes Mac n cheese, chicken bites, burger slider, and one other. All come with seasoned crinkle fries. My girls loved the Mac n cheese and the French fries. My aunt and uncle both got the brisket platter and really enjoyed their food as well. They spoke highly of the brisket and the cole slaw. The pit master came and spoke with us which was really cool! We learned that his mentor is a competition gumbo champion in Louisiana so his menu reflects the down home Louisiana wonderfulness! I've been coming to the amazing Super Smokers barbecue Cajun for a while now here in Eureka today was the first day I thought I'd sit inside at the counter and eat my burger on the Fourth of July but when I found out that I was not able to sit at the counter, and I had to sit in the dining room, it kind of upset me because I was all by myself and I didn't want to take up any booth space with large groups of people coming in. The young lady left and went and talk to the manager. The manager came over me and said that she had allowed to go orders, and it would not be wise to sit here because of all the traffic coming in and out picking up their orders. Don't get me wrong. We tried the Papa's Diner pop-up inside Super Smokers. I had the meatloaf with ashed potatoes and green beans. The meatloaf was grilled and topped with red sauce. It was moist and flavorful. The green beans were nicely cooked with a little crisp essential left. The mashed potatoes, with skin, were well prepared and delicious. My wife had the Chicken Biscuitwith fried potatoes. The biscuit was large and the fried boneless chicken breast serving was very generous. The chicken was nicely seasoned, moist, and tender. The chocolate cake was large and sinfull. Stopped in today to try "Papa's Diner" pop-up this afternoon. Gotta say it was delicious. I had the classic breakfast, ( they serve breakfast open to close), it was fantastic! Two eggs, home fries, smoked ham, ( you can also have bacon or sausage), "short stack" pancakes. ( or toast or biscuit). Eggs home fries and ham were wonderful. Then I started on the pancakes. A short stack is two pancakes, but they took up more than 60% of the rectangular tray my meal was served on. They could have been a stand alone meal. They were so sweet and fluffy I am thinking I could have skipped the syrup. "Papa" was there, greeting folks, doing table checks, providing awesome hospitality. My son and I came in for a quick dinner. It was dinner time so a few cars all pulled in at the same time. Great variety of bbq on the menu. We decided to split an order of the Super bbq nachos and grab a couple sodas. Ordering was quick and friendly at the counter. Grabbed our cups got our sodas and picked our own table. Food was out to us in under five minutes and I noticed other tables were served quickly as well. Our server was friendly and helpful with silverware and an extra plate. We've had the bbq nachos before and as you can see from the pic they are huge platter. The pic is after I had gave my son his portion on his tray. The single most frustrating thing about Super Smokers is deciding what BBQ sauce to get on the side, a few I just had to buy a bottle of to keep at home. Great to grab for a picnic family reunion or weekend getaway . Seriously I'm not a huge meat eater my husband is and he loves this place when we ask him what he would like for a special meal he always says " pick up "super Smokers"-and now I love this place. This half slab dinner was particularly poignant for me, because I spent a summer working at this Super Smokers right after I graduated.from college, and I hadn't been back since. Like the four other jobs I had in about a one year span (yeah, I was once that kind of brother), this one didn't end well. There weren't any fistfights, or sexual harassment, or threats of lawsuits or anything. I just found a job somewhere else and let them find out the old fashioned way. And this restaurant is far enough from civilization that I never just happen to be in the neighborhood. Then there was the time they were contacted by the Riverfront Times to confirm something I'd written about the location of an ad-hoc outdoor restroom in relation to the place where they keep the wood they use to fuel their smoker, and whether or not this has to do with a certain citrus-y flavor in the meat. At the time, I was still dealing with enough people who worked there socially (alas, all guys) that word eventually filtered back to me, and apparently they didn't find this amusing. I'm not gonna say whether or not it's true, because Homeland Security could probably find a way to toss me in jail for it even if it is, and because lord knows Super Smokers has had enough problems over the years without me revealing any of their closely guarded trade secrets. By the time I worked there they'd already been usurped to a certain degree by Bandanas, which was more or less as good and had much better locations. Then pretty much all but the original Super Smokers location went out of business. I still remember the day they decided to randomly pull the plug. A buncha kids who worked there came by my apartment to lament their new employment status and console themselves with alcohol. Did Super Smokers reimburse me for that alcohol? No, they didn't. They didn't even bother to contact people who'd placed catering orders. They just put a sign up on the door. #FAIL I'd hardly so much as thought of Super Smokers, until I drove past that exit on 44 yesterday on my way to way out in East Bumblefuck, MO to see an eye doctor. I lost my right eye in a grisly accident at work this past summer. (No, really.) I'd been seeing a doctor in St. Louis, but my job's insurance felt he was too competent, so they found this guy who got his start practicing on squirrels. They funnel a lot of work to his practice in exchange for him not suggesting anything that would cost them much money. So I'll probably be almost blind for the rest of my life. FML But at least I had that half-slab dinner yesterday. Back in the day, pretty much everything at Super Smokers was the food equivalent of crack, provided it wasn't cooked the day before and reheated (hence Pappy's and Bogart's closing early), but I figured I'd try the ribs, because I've recently tried the ribs at Bogart's and Bandana's, so it would be interesting to compare, and because you can't go wrong with ribs. Super Smokers' half slab dinner is like $15. With a drink it's well over $16. Despite my financial situation, I wasn't really sweating it... until they brought it out. It had completely slipped my mind that Super Smokers serves baby backs. And these baby backs were tiny. These tiny-ass ribs put the baby in baby back. This pig may not have been fully grown. It may have been one of those ones you dissect in 10th grade science class. The fact that they were one of the very best things I've ever eaten probably added to how small they seemed. Call me crazy, but I liked them just as much if not more than the ribs at Bogart's. Whereas the ribs at Bogart's are coated in the second most sticky substance known to man, which is great (pause), the ribs at Super Smokers come off as understated. The pork at Super Smokers speaks for itself. It said to me that it loves me, and it's sorry about what happened to my eye. If only I could find a woman as good as those ribs. read more

My husband and I had the pull pork sandwich. They gave you plenty of meat, but it was dry. The bun wasn't fresh. They had plenty of sauces to choose from, however, they only gave you a very small amount, it was decent, just not enough. I has potato Chips as a side and they were not a name brand and not fresh. My husband had green beans and potato salad. He was told the potato salad was homemade, he said it tastes commercial. He also had green beans, which were limp and tasteless. They also had pickled red bell peppers in the beans which made them tats a little strange. Extremely disappointed.
