Super Taco! It's been around here forever. The last time I've been here was so long ago, the next door apartment complex didn't exist yet and as a result, there was far far far more available parking. There's still available parking usually, but it's a bit more cramped. Also, it was much cheaper, but that was before the inflation wave that impacted almost every restaurant. Essentially, three things stand out about Super Taco. First, the green salsa is very good. It's distinctively spicy, but not so spicy as to overpower the flavor. I actually have no idea how they make it and I've even tried to re-create the flavor, but I generally fail. I honestly can't find anything else like it. The only annoying thing is that they now charge extra for additional salsa (50 cents). The second thing is that it's pretty cheap, at least for the burritos. Everything all added together (tax, etc.) ended up around $10, which sounds pretty bad until you realize that this is the Bay Area and normally burritos and what not go for significantly more, especially at sit-down restaurants. Cash only though! Third, the burritos taste weirdly healthy. And they surprisingly honestly might be. I don't really know how else to describe it, but it's probably the least oily "cheap" burrito I've ever had. The ingredients are really just meat, avocado, beans, rice, onion, cilantro, lettuce, etc. It sounds minimalist in a sense like Chipotle burritos - but I don't actually like Chipotle burritos at all. I'm not exactly sure why I have such differing approaches to the two burritos, but I think it's that the meat is generally warmer and the burrito focuses more on tasting the meat, beans, etc. (as opposed to cheese and sour cream being dominant flavors). The satiation to calorie ratio is actually pretty good on these, you could actually have these as a diet food. Definitely worth a try! You may or may not like their take on the burrito, but if you do, you'll probably end up as hooked as I am!

I don't live in Fremont but every time I come here I stop by super taco to get a burrito and it's my favorite in the area!! There's plenty of room inside if you want to dine in and the service is really good. Only con is parking is a bit tight. I usually order the grilled chicken super burrito. The burritos here are nothing like I've had before. The tortillas are super soft and just melts in your mouth. And I love that they don't put rice in the burrito! It comes with meat, beans, avocado, cheese and salsa . Their green salsa is also delicious. I'll continue to stop by every time I visit :)

California burrito, that's right, with french fries.

Nice people serving decent Mexican food. Mom and pop location, but Parking not that great, 14 tables for 4.

This place Has been a staple of the community for as far as I can remember... That's at least 25 years! This place makes their sandwich/torta exactly how it's made from my hometown in Mexico. Whenever I'm in town I'm ordering as many as they have on hand to share with my family. We came by on a Tuesday around 130 and they only had enough for one pork loin/lomo torta. These things fly of the shelves! They are so generous with the avocado and salsa. CASH ONLY!

Super Taco was always a reliable place for a good, inexpensive meal. Moved out of the area and had not been for a few years. Very disappointed that they (like most) have more than doubled their prices and decreased their quality. I don't know what they are now using for crema, but it shouldn't be yellow. The jalapeños are tasteless and the nachos are bland. The only thing that remains good are the whole beans.

We were in need of our final "fish" Friday lunch for Lent and we decided on getting some fish tacos. So Super Taco came up in our search and we went on ahead and attempted at getting a fish taco sampler. Although we didn't get what we initially ordered, we were content with what we got but wish the salsas and grilled fish had more flavor. L O C A T I O N Super Taco is located in the Irvington District of Fremont. It's next to Dina's in a small little plaza that basically has only one way in and out. The parking situation can be a little hard as it's shared by other businesses in that tiny plaza. I wish there was a second way to come in or out as it was was kind of dangerous when folks tried to back out of their spots. C O V I D P R O T O C O L All the workers were masked up as were the customers. There were black "x" marks on the floor to signal 6 ft apart when ordering. The doors were wide open for air flow. There were hand sanitizers available for customers to use. M E N U The menu consists of your typical taqueria: burritos, tacos, tostadas, tortas, flautas, nachos, quesadillas, etc. You have your choice of meats: - adobada (bbq pork) - buche (hog mawe) - carne asada (grilled beef) - carnitas (pork) - chile colorado (red chile) - chile verde (green chile) - lomo (pork loin) - lengua (tongue) - pollo guisado (chicken) - pollo asado (grilled chicken) - pescado asado en comal (grilled fish) - pescado empanizado (fish breaded) Basically regular to super means adding cheese and avocado plus $1 extra for burritos and $0.55 for tacos. So originally we ordered basically the different versions of each fish taco so the hope was: 1. Grilled Fish Regular taco 2. Grilled Fish Super taco 3. Breaded Fish Regular taco 4. Breaded Fish Super taco. Although the person who took our order got it right, the folks making the order did not. We got 2 grilled fish regular tacos and 2 breaded fish super tacos. Either way, it was fine, we just each ate one of each instead of half of everything. The grilled fish was kind of bland and also their green salsa also fell flat with the flavor. It was lacking acidity like a lemon or lime to brighten the dish. I ended up using some seasonings I had in my pantry to make it good. The breaded fish was a little better, but again it was lacking acidity. It would've benefited from lime or lemon. For the lack of flavor, it's quite a sizeable portion that 2 was well enough for me. I could've had maybe just 1 or 1.5 to be fully satisfied. It's a little hard to eat, but as long as you have a pile of napkins, you're good to go. The best part of this meal were the chips. Gosh...you know it's been deep fried in all the flavors of everything that has been deep fried. It hit the spot. The pico de gallo is quite fresh, but again needed some lemon or lime as well as maybe some salt/pepper to bring some kind of complexity into it. S E R V I C E The cashier/order taker is super nice and friendly as well as patient as my bf was trying to get the "cross product" of versions of the fish taco. It was hilarious listening to him order it over the phone. I guess people don't do this. Also when you check in on Yelp you can get free chips and salsa. When we paid, my bf noticed we were charged for the chips and salsa and she was super apologetic for the mistake. So great service, but when they're busy it gets a bit hectic and I can see where things can fall through the cracks. Oh, make sure to bring cash. It's cash only folks. O V E R A L L It's a busy spot and you know it's good if it's this busy. I just don't think fish is this place's forte. I'm not saying I won't come back. On the contrary, I will be back but for a meat taco or maybe even the meat nachos. I'm already salivating. I think at that time I'm ready to give an update for this place, but for what I got, it was a bit disappointing, but service was great and there's a reason why it's busy and frequented by locals and workers. So until next time!

    yes - still cash only

Do they have banda on Tuesday's night?

    Nope

The Carne asada looks dry & over cooked. The charge extra for rice in a burrito?

Yes , we charge extra for rice because the burrito consists of mostly meat and beans . With rice added the burrito is still only 8 dollars. Most taqueria’s fill the burritos with rice and not as much meat.…

They offer plenty on their menu and have special deals too. You order at the counter and seat yourself. Service was okay. Not many people dining in but a lot of pick up orders. The sopes: Got 2 carnitas sopes and the meat was perfect. Soft but with a slight crisp and the flavor was all there. Plenty of cheese that caused a nice cheese pull. The steak nachos: They use shredded mozzarella but I don't think it was enough. A lot of the chips were bare and the ones that had it were dried out. The guac and sour cream balanced it out. The tacos: We got asada, chicken, and buche. Your average yellow tortilla perfectly oiled and heated up. I do feel like they skimped on the amount of meat they put on the asada tacos and the quality of the meat wasn't the best as there was a lot of fatty pieces. The winning meat was definitely the buche. It was fried just right and had a lot of flavor. The chicken was also very well seasoned and juicy. The green salsa was superior to the red salsa. It had a good heat level that wasn't overpowering like the red one. I appreciated that they added the pickled veggies on the side. Overall, a solid taco and sope spot. I will definitely return to try other items on the menu.
