My favorite neighborhood Mexican cuisine. My Wife loves their child size burritos. Unless you want to be stuck on the couch I suggest the Carne Asada or Carnitas tacos which are still overflowing with meat. This place is pretty rad since it is close to home. Their food is delicious, you get a lot of it, and you get it fast. I'm not the biggest fan of the hot sauce, however. I don't know how they could improve it, but any change would probably be good change. The other thing, their fries are really wimpy. They droop and it's hilarious. Very limp. Super Torta is crave-able, and yummy. I have been spoiled by real Tucson Mexican food and thus have pretty high standards. You cannot go wrong with their combo burrito, or the gargantuan chimichangas. They have great prices and the guys who work the joint are always really friendly and smiley. I would add an extra star if they would clean the wall by the back door where a huge red mouth shaped stain has been in the same place for at least the last 4 years. read more

Terrible customer service! I am a portland native and have been coming here for years but started a yelp account this evening specifically for the reason of writing this review. The shorter gentleman that always works the counter is rude as hell! I CANT BE THE ONLY ONE THAT HAS EXPERIENCED THIS! I Have put up with it for years. I work later (till about 8pm most nights) and have consistently ordered from here for an easy dinner around 8 30 because it works for my family and as of the past few years have become fed up with the condescending attitude of the gentleman who runs the show in the evenings. I am a long time customer and i frequently get treated like a vagrant or idiot when i call in or in person (including some choice words in spanish, and I speak spanish even though im juat a "gringo"...anyways) and it is frustrating. I would recommend you go to any of the many other options you have in the area that you will get food just as good and service that is significantly better. You can make a business off of a decent product and great customer service. The food is decent, but the customer service is terrible. No one should have to deal with that when you are a paying customer. I should not feel like I am inconveniencing you, I AM THE CUSTOMER! I DONT CHOOSE THE HOURS YOU ARE OPEN! IF YOU HAVE AN ISSUE, TAKE IT UP WITH THE OWNERS AND DONT RUN CUSTOMERS AWAY. I went to Super Torta for the first time today and i enjoyed it. I had a shredded beef hard taco and a side of beans and cheese. They were both quite good (and QUITE hot.) The beans had a good flavor...not bland like some places. The taco shell was made fresh, not store bought. I will be back and am looking forward to trying other menu items. read more

Dear Super Torta: I wanted to love you. I really did. Being new to the neighborhood, I was excited by the prospect of having a go-to guy for my burritos, but you really let me down. You flirted with me, showed me your authentic-looking menu and made me laugh while you took my order. You told me I could get the chicken fajita burrito without rice and a vegetarian burrito, too. Sure, sure, whatever I wanted. You were happy to oblige me. You serenaded me with your Mariachi music from the kitchen. You gave me tub of pico with my chips and a bunch of hot sauce to go. I wish I could say "it's me, not you," because I realize my expectations are exceptionally high, being a fairly-recent transplant to Portland from the Bay Area and used to having amazingly good Mexican food (I have to agree with Kenny H. about Burrito Factory!). Based on your good reviews, I was hopeful, though. Maybe it was first-date jitters, I don't know, but you served me up some of the worst burritos I've had in a city that, unfortunately, seems to abound with bad Mexican food. Ah, this place is freaking great. The meats they use are quite a bit fresher than many places. It is what it is. I don't expect it to be gourmet. But I have eaten there 20+ times, never gotten sick, always felt satisfied, and I seem to keep going back. read more

But, tonight will be the last...The food is pretty good for the price, it's just the guy who works the register. Fuck him. I understand if he doesn't like his job, but seriously. Fuck him. I recently relocated and I already miss being walking distance from this place. If you want a huge, tasty burrito that is big enough for two meals, Super Torta's got it covered. I have many-a-times wandered this way on my lunch break, ordered a 'wet' shredded beef/beans/cheese burrito, consumed half for lunch and then had the rest for dinner. They offer a great variety that includes enhiladas, nachos and of course their namesake, the torta. Once, I did stray from my norm and tried the steak picado burrito. It was good, but a 'wet' shredded beef is still my fave. And man are these guys fast! In and out in 5-7 minutes or less! I have never dined in here, so I cannot attest to the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. but they rock in the to-go department and I have always found them to be very polite. read more

I write this review with mixed feelings. Would I eat here again? Yes most definitely but next time I will stand outside and read the menu so that I am not rushed inside being asked repeatedly if I am ready as I am clearly staring at the menu board on the side wall. The cashier was completely rude. He rolled his eyes and acted like getting a water cup was a problem. They won't make enchiladas with flour tortillas. Next time I will also get my food to go. The lack of cleanliness somewhat taints the taste of the food. My husband and I went here and we agreed the food was good BUT when we got our order it was completely wrong. My husband took tray to counter and explained the situation. The owner started getting loud and demanded the receipt which we didn't get in the first place. Tried to tell him what we ordered, Same thing we always order, elsewhere.
