Came in for my appointment at 5:30. Was told 2 more mins since she had a client. She then proceeds to take a whole different client.

Excellent trim for my bangs. In and out very quickly. Made an appointment 30 minutes before my hair trim and it all went very well.

Had 2 appointments for the kids. Showed up a minute or two early for appointments, left 30 minutes after appointment and it didn't look like anyone would have finished anytime soon. Like seriously, a simple men's cut doesn't take 45+ minutes. Any basic/mediocre barber or stylist can do a great men's cut in 20 minutes. Prices are the same, or more expensive than a real barber who would have finished with a straight razor. Guys, don't even bother with this joint, go to a real barber, get a great cut at the same price, somewhere that respects your time. Or, waste your time, get a poor cut, look like a kook. Try Zuko's, Razorbacks, syndicate, ohana, etc.... Thousands of better options. read more

They use to advertise walk ins but I don't think they want walk ins anymore. They really make you feel bad if you walk in, like you are subpar and just an after thought. For the price of $30 for a haircut before tip, I would hope that they would treat customers better. read more

I walked in for a cut, no hello, but immediately saying 1st available is in 1.5 hours, but only saw two people in the lobby area. +1 star for being able to walk-in and get service quickly. +1 star for affordability. Unfortunately, the quality of the haircuts are subpar. My wife and I each tried getting our hair cut here, and neither of us was satisfied with the outcome. I basically had to coach my stylist and give her directions throughout the haircut. If I could give zero I would! All stylist had attitudes and seemed rushed. I still gave them the benefit. My daughter asked for a specific cut and the stylist said she couldn't do it she could do something different or go somewhere else. Which is fine I rather her be up front that is not what I was upset at it was the way and attitude behind it. I came to her first when my hair was brownish/red/kind of orange which was the mess left from a lift from pitch black hair at a high end salon. The one that greeted me said she doesn't do highlights and when I asked her if she can check with the other hairdresser she said I had to ask myself . Insisted for me to go somewhere else instead and then she just left to the back. Left me with no answers and horrible experience. I've been having my haircuts here for last four months; this is 5541 Stearn St location in LB, so far my experience has been very positive. I always ask for Lin, her style is superb. Store is always clean. They care our safety for Covid and make sure everyone has masks on. They have a reservation system so there is no one waiting in the lobby. I usually make my reservation through their web site but you can also call them directly. Parking is plenty. They have restrooms. Price is reasonable. I will keep going. read more

My husband scheduled a haircut for our daughter today, keep in mind.. he is new to the app and did not add for a wash to be included with the cut. My daughters hair was dirty as i did not have her wash it knowing she would be getting service done today, on her birthday. Lea did not ask or suggest a wash, and when I called to speak to the manager it turns out Lea is the manager. Instead of apologizing for any misunderstanding, she rudely responded with a defensive tone: A. People come in for cuts with dirty hair all the time, and B. I'm not going to ask again. Very unprofessional. I understand my husband takes part in the miscommunication, and i was not asking for money back or free services, but her customer service or lack there of as well as the attitude in her voice really is what was unacceptable and shocking. This specific location does not respect individuals time. I had an appointment I booked online and check in in person before my appointment. I did not get acknowledged until 15 mins after my appointment time only to be told I had to wait for another 10 mins while a walk in was seated before me. Want to give James a big shout out for the amazing haircut. I never expected this kind of a quality cut without paying 4X the price. Not only is my hair amazing My experience was beyond pleasant. James has an amazing personality. So glad I found him. In addition I felt really comfortable with the practices they used to protect me from COVID( masks worn, hands and seats cleaned and not crowded) I think this is why they are taking appointments instead of walk in and wait. Was once a loyal customer, but will never be back again and I typically don't leave reviews but I am so disgusted by my experience I need to share. Last Thursday January 11th, I called and booked a 9:30am appointment with Lin for today Monday January 15th. I was trying to get an appointment for that day but the lady I spoke to told me how Lin was so busy because she just came back from 3 weeks off and she is already fully booked but she could book me in for Monday. Mind you the women I spoke to, to make the appointment I actually spoke to twice because I was trying to work out when would be best. She was well aware of the fact that I was looking to book with Lin. Today I walk in for my appointment a couple minutes early with my two year old in a stroller and activities to hold her over for the duration of my appointment only to have Lin tell me that she has another 9:30am appointment and my appointment was only booked for a "general" appointment. I said I made my appointment specifically for Lin, but that didn't matter apparently and Lin told me I could sit and wait for an half an hour and then I could get my hair cut, but I knew my daughter wouldn't last waiting in a stroller for 30 minutes plus sitting there for my hair cut, but I asked if I could just come back in 30 minutes? Then Lin tells me that wouldn't work because she is fully booked. There was literally zero consideration or acknowledgement for the way I was getting screwed out of this appointment. Mind you I am also 38 weeks pregnant and was really needing this hair cut, since I am not sure when I am going to pop and my hair so too long and soon I won't have time to brush it. Long story short, if you book over the phone, even if they say you are booked for someone specific, it's not guaranteed. Don't waste your time. read more

Gotta hit this place with a one star unfortunately. Edna cut my hair and she did a pretty good job and listened to what I wanted. . My usual place was closed so I unfortunately had no choice but to try something new. The issue here is the other lady who's an older Vietnamese lady took my call an hour before my 5Pm appointment. She took my name and I said can I go in early? She then said to come at 5 on the dot because it would be perfect opening to cut my hair. I get there at 4:55 and she's all over the place and asking me "are you sure you got an appointment booked??" It was a very discombobulated moment from her and she was just like confused running around. All of a sudden she tells her guest with a 3 year old son could you please wait since he called in?? It was very uncomfortable and awkward and then the lady said "my son is three I can't wait longer" She then said well can you wait?? At this point I've said my name like five times and she still hasn't remembered my name or acknowledged I called in and spoke to her. I showed her the call log for the store and she didn't even know the store number? Edna on the other hand finished with a client and took me and was sweet, I did feel she was very careful and meticulous (but almost slightly nervous to cut my hair) At any rate I tipped generously since she apologized in the end again and referred to me only as "unknown guest" since I quickly declined any and all forms of communication or email sign ups given the experience. It was very very bad and I would never visit again. It was just so scatterbrained. . If I was desperate again I would go see Edna though. The other lady didn't apologize at the end or anything. Additionally given the fact of the entire inconvenience they should of really offered to discount the service even 10%. But. . It is what it is, I wouldn't recommend at all. Worst experience in Long Beach by far. . ps: her referring to me as an unknown guest wasn't a bad thing at all, if anything it was slightly funny since I've never gotten that and it cheered up my mood given the extended wait. read more

My review is for Polly, she has the the best customer service right when you walk inside the salon. Most Supercuts I've visited do not seem too cheerful but this salon was great! The salon is clean and has a great amount of parking with other business around the plaza. She was so nice and understanding in what I wanted, since I don't like to cut my hair often! She was quick and very professional. I was comfortable in her chair because I could tell she was an experienced stylist by her technique. My hair cut was $18.99 and I paid an additional $5 for a wash. Very affordable and I loved my long layered haircut. If you need a new stylist, I highly recommend Polly!! read more

I was a bit hesitant to get my haircut here as I had a free haircut coupon that I rec'd in the mail as I've had the worst service at the location on 7th St and Redondo, but not here! Stylists were very warm and welcoming, and gladly accepted my coupon with no hassles (7th St and Redondo would tell you it would be a 3-4 hour wait with the coupon). So I entered asked for a blow dry and straightening. The lady that greeted me told me i will pay 45$ plus 8$ shampoo. I agreed and as the lady started working on my hair i felt she wanted to leave and kept on telling her colleague sorry for keeping u waiting you should thank your boss ! I felt very uncomfortable. After she finished blow dry she told me she was done. When i asked aren't you going to straighten my hair with the straightener she told me oh no - this is at an extra price you will have to pay an extra 30$ of course i left ! On new year's eve i will have to rush and go home to straighten my hair myself after paying 53$ for just a blow dry ! Oh and even the blow dryer she was using was not a professional one i should've taken a picture of it but was so pissed and running late. Most annoying is that even though you make appointments you end up waiting for 15 or more minutes which is not quite my idea of what an appointment. I always bring my boys here for their cuts simply because I am too much a bargain hunter to pay the hipster barber establishments $50 +tip for two kids haircuts, especially when Supercuts provides the same (or better) quality cut AND has a sweet little toy corner with a bin of stuff the kids love to play with. Anyways, yesterday, I decided I had to trim my bangs. For some reason I decided even though it could be something I would regret to try Supercuts. A stylist was available immediately upon my arrival, I showed her a picture of what I wanted and we got started. Being the hair snob I am inside I was having a conniption fearing the worst possible outcome. She took her time (which I totally appreciated) gradually reducing the length and stopping to allow me to comment on what I was thinking. Seriously I was the biggest pain in the butt, perfectionist to the max. 30ish minutes later my bangs were trimmed up and she even blended the front of my hair with my bangs. Very pleased with her work and customer service I followed her to the register only to be charged $6!!!!!!! Needless to say tipped her heavy with great appreciation for her patience with my finicky nature and bang trim! Jenifer was great and I will be back in a couple weeks for another trim!!!
