On the day of the appointment, I received a text from the stylist at 10:30 asking if I can come in at 2:00 instead. It wasn't a big deal to me so I agreed. Then when I was already on my way at 1:30 I received another text from Jackie that she cancelled my appointment all together. I'm not sure why she even has appointments if she is not going to go by them, especially after her sending multiple confirmation emails for the appointments. Do not book with Jackie Cabezas. She will waste your time.

It's so hard to find a stylist that you can trust your hair with but I'm so glad I found Shena! I have pretty dark hair naturally and Shena did a beautiful work on my hair. She's super realistic and careful. She assesses your hair situation and makes sure to take that into account whenever lightening the hair. My hair isn't damaged at all thanks to how careful Shena was! I also haven't even had any breakage since getting my hair done! I booked an appointment with Madeline due to their schedule/availability and was really excited for my appointment. I get my haircut only once a year and that happens to be on my birthday. During my season of grief, I wanted to make sure I spent my new year taking care of myself the only way I knew how. Treatments! I told Madeline what I wanted: Long curtain bangs, long layers (rounded and not cut into a V) with the shortest layer at my shoulder. Ask and you shall receive. Madeline did the damn thing. I found them on Yelp because they had excellent reviews, loved the flat rate all inclusive price policy, and was looking for someone who could help me achieve my vivid dream of an oil slick/moody rainbow look. I filled out the online consultation form stating I wanted an oil slick look and attached pictures of my current hair which was a medium brown as well as several inspiration pictures. They responded back that they had a stylist who could work with me who would reach out and I made an appointment with Nuria. I showed up for my appointment and she was running a bit behind but no big worry. I showed her the inspiration pictures again and talked specifically about moody rainbows. The appointment began and it seemed to be going well. She was pleasant, the salon was cute. She bleached my hair then picked 4 colors to apply. When she washed them she gushed and said it looked so good and I was going to love it so much. When she was finished with the appointment we did go over the time by an hour which I was not charged for however the final look was not moody and even though she used 4 colors the blue did not show up so it really only looked like 3 plus my natural roots, a block of very bright pink, a block of yellow, and purple ends. Instead of an oil slick it was more bright sunset? But she was so excited and said it was so great and I had just spent a lot, and it was fun even if it wasn't anything that I asked for that I let myself be gaslit into thinking it was what I wanted for a while. After about a month my hair had faded considerably even with proper color care so I was debating if ai should get it done again and looked at my inspiration pictures and finally realized it was nothing like what I had gotten. I reached out to the business manager via yelp to get information on how clients are placed with stylist as I did really like the business model but obviously had had poor communication with my sylist and actually wondered if Carlos the scheduler could be AI and maybe it was just a bad placement and I could try someone else. About a week later Carlos actually called me on the phone- she wasn't AI! I explained that I had had a disappointing experience with my stylist and that we seemed to have miscommunicated what I was going for and asked if when they initially matched someone if it was based on availability or solely on the creative request/look someone was going for. She told me it was based on the inspiration photos and asked if I wanted to book with someone else. Since I had had a disappointing experience with the person who was supposed to be best suited for achieving a moody rainbow look I declined. If I was going for a simpler vivid look or a more natural look Mod salon would have been great but sadly they didn't work out for the technical prismatic look I was trying to achieve.
