Difficult to find but worth the visit! A group of 7 of us went at 5:30 on a Saturday and had no issue getting a table. This place has been on my list for some time, so I finally snuck in a visit before a Guardians game. Doesn't top other pho in the land, but the food does the job. Ordered a brisket and tripe pho, which came with a platter of bean sprouts, basil, mint, jalapeños, and limes; and a banh mi. Everything tasted good and was served at a reasonable time, but I wished the broth was more flavorful. On the other hand, the signature 7C banh mi lived up to its reputation. From the crunch of the baguette to the sweet meat to the kick from the chilis, the 7C checked off everything right for a banh mi. Aside from the food, the place was a bit shabby. I came here because it was one of the most reviewed Asian food in Cleveland. I don't really see why though. Pho Chin- It smelled SO GOOD but don't let that fool you. The soup was extremely watered down and had some sort of Indian spice in it which made it taste a little aromatic. The noodles in the takeout box seemed like it had been sitting out for a long time and didn't really soak in the soup well. The meat was overcooked as well. I've definitely had better pho. I stopped by superior pho for lunch on a weekday. It's entrance is in the back of a non-upscale building with a shared hall of a few other Asian restaurants. You have to use a key with a piece of wood to use the restroom like at a crummy gas station. The restaurant was busy, but we were able to get a seat right away. There were a diverse crowd of patrons. I was recommended a pho when I asked if I should get that or a beef stew. It was pretty solid. Not the best I've had, but better than average. I ordered the Pho Dac Biet, noodle soup with all-listed meats, and loved it! The broth was pleasantly warm/hot, noodles were packed with flavor, and the meat was great! (I used about half the bean sprouts available and both lime wedges.) My friends ordered the shrimp fried rice and the spicy curry stir fry and both were packed with flavor. Absolutely delicious. I would also highly recommend the Jasmine Tea as well. It's only $1 extra and they bring out a whole pot for you. It made my experience so much more enjoyable to sit around after and cc'd at over hot tea. Overall, I loved it. The atmosphere made me feel like I had discovered a secret gem within Cleveland even though this restaurant has received raving reviews and is widely renowned for its deliciousness. Decided to try this place out after looking at all the raving reviews. I will say, to begin, that I am a little bit picky about my pho so there's that. I ordered the Pho chin which is nice because the beef was already well done in comparison to other pho places where it's still raw and the soup is not hot enough to cook the meat. The beef was pretty tender but I do have to say that the soup base was a little bit one-dimensional. Doesn't have a lot of the hearty beefy flavor you would usually get from pho. Superior Pho is in Cleveland's Chinatown and it has its own parking lot. It offers a variety of Vietnamese dishes such as pho, rice platters, banh mi, and has a vegetarian selection. I ordered the Pho Dac Biet ($11.75). I was a fan of their food: the pho was delicious and the broth was so flavorful. Their prices are reasonable, their portions are large, and they don't skimp on the meat they put in. There's nothing like a warm bowl of pho to satisfy the tummy. However the service was so chaotic. My friend and I stood by the table we were led to as they were trying to clean a puddle next to it. And during our meal, three separate waiters came up to our table with dishes that we didn't order. If you come during a busy time, then you might need to sit at the tables in the hallway, which smells like sewer. You have been warned. I had my usual bun bo hue. Delicious as usual. The broth wasn't spicy by default like I expected it to be, but the waiter gave us sriracha sauce and hoisin sauce to add to our own liking. 6 star Pho! Impressive! (Yes, 6) 3 star service. Slightly above average. 2 star establishment. Average. 2 star vibe. Average. I felt obligated to start with that because if you're like me, the food is the most important element of going to eat but everything else is still relevant. Some people prioritize the experience, others may even prioritize the level of service. I like to think they all matter, bot created equally, but a great meal will leave you with less energy to focus on those things, hence the 4 star rating. Quality food that serves the purpose of what you're looking for at that moment is the key. I'm optimistic that everything else can be improved after that but all worth noting. For food I typically like to get a number large #3($13) (options range from S/XXL). It features two different types of beef. It is fantastic and flavorful. A lot of noodles, a good amount of meat, and the sides that come with it take the already mesmerizing flavor to an entirely new level. If you like your meat medium (cooking temp) and below, I suggest you eat the meat fast. The longer it sits, the tougher it gets. If you usually eat smaller portions, you will have leftovers because this is a healthy dose. I personally am not a large fan of the Banh Mi ($7), I have tried it several times from several places but have never bought into the hype. No different here. However, many people seem to rave about the one here. Overall, the food is worth the price. For $20 or less you will be full and satisfied. For $30 or less you can enjoy a great date. The beginning to every good Sunday starts here. Regardless of how much fun you had Saturday night, there's nothing like a Sunday morning stop at Superior Pho to hit the reset button. To begin, the entrance to the business is on the south side of the building, from the parking lot. After you enter the building, the door is about 15 feet down the hall, on the left hand side. Inside the restaurant, there's two main dining rooms. After you take your seat, someone will be by shortly to take your order. I typically order the meal #3 with a #3 pho and hot tea. This comes with chicken cabbage salad, your choice of spring or summer rolls, and beverage. Almost instantly, your food and drinks will arrive at your table. They'll bring out a platter of limes, jalapeños, sprouts, and Thai basil (as with all leafy herbs remember not only to tear them, but also slap them to release the aromatics). I add them all to my bowl. I also add the table side hoisin and sirracha sauce to give it that extra "reset" ability. Every trip is always amazing, hence why it's been added to the beginning of almost every Sunday funday. Whether you're looking for a good hangover cure, or you're looking to try pho at a Cleveland staple, Superior Pho should definitely be on your to do list. read more

We actually dined in for lunch and we weren't disappointed that we did. Patrons were spaced far apart and, on a weekday, lunch time wasn't busy. They had a steady stream of dine in and take out. Their pho is delicious and the portion size is very generous. The pork noodle bowl was great but the meat used was a little different than what I'm used to. They used thin pork belly slices instead of a thicker cut of pork such as loin or shoulder. It didn't super matter, since the pork was caramelized and the grill flavor was incredibly prominent. However, the pork belly slices were on the fatty side. The egg roll that came with the noodle bowl had a great filling. The addition of two large-ish shrimp on top of the noodle bowl was unexpected but certainly welcome. Prices were fair to high. It just doesn't seem like you can get cheap Vietnamese food in Ohio so I've stopped looking for cheap and just look for authentic. This place is it. read more

So the pho here is pretty good - so far the best we've had in Cleveland. However, I don't recommend straying from the pho. Last time I ordered Bun Bo Hue- wanted to switch things up - and it was disappointing. It didn't have the right seasoning and basically had a spicy pho broth with different noodles. Also, they forgot my order. The rest of my group had gotten pho and I had waited 30 minutes, then had to go ask for my food. No apology. Docking an extra star because we came during a busy lunch and the owner really only attended to tables that had typical American looking people (read: white) and straight up ignored my family and any one else Asian. What a delicious late afternoon snack! My wife, my daughter and I split a Banh Mi, 2 egg rolls and 2 spring rolls. I've always wanted to do a food review like Guy Fieri, and I'm going to rectify that with this review. The Banh Mi was off the chain! The bread was the perfect Banh Mi bread of having the crispy and flaky crust with a warm and soft crumb. As you chew the sandwich, you get all of the bold flavors, you taste the herbs, and it has the perfect little kick of heat at the end. The egg rolls were gangster! The egg roll was perfectly fried, they wrapper was flaky which is the standard of a great egg roll, and the fill was reasonable as some places go really light with the egg roll filling. The same would apply to the spring rolls. I wasn't expecting much, but the food was so good I was only able to get the one picture because we ate everything so fast. This place is money! read more

While I think the pho is good (other than my own mother's of course), if you are a vegetarian, be careful what you order. I am not a vegetarian but my bf has been one all of his life, so we are extremely cautious about him accidentally eating meat since it could make him sick. The pho "chay," which mean vegetarian in Vietnamese, is actually made with beef broth. When we clarified that, we decided to go with the tamarind soup (since it's on the vegetarian menu). We thought we were safe with that choice until we got home and found a piece of fat in the soup. I'm questioning if it was a accident that it fell in there or if the soup is made from chicken or beef broth. Nothing is better than pho on a cold, winter day in Cleveland Ohio! I've made pho at home before, but it always tastes so much better when you're not the one making it! Superior Pho has expanded it's location in the last 2 years. I have been here every so often, and I have to say that every time I've been here, I have not yet once been disappointed. I like it a lot better when there isn't a line out the door because then you don't feel like you are being rushed to eat your meal. Weekends are probably the days you would want to avoid, as I've noticed that's when the lines are crazy, even with the expansion next door. How did they ever survive without that expansion? The most recent experience at Superior Pho, there was a crazy line out the door. We ordered our food and it came within 15 minutes, but the one drink we ordered never made it. When it came close to finish eating, my friend insisted that I didn't say anything about that drink and she will still pay for it, but I couldn't watch her be upset about it and have that memory be in the back of her mind of this place. I flagged the server down when she was walking by and politely mentioned, "My friend never got the drink she ordered and we are done eating now. Are you able to take that off the check?" In a very understanding manner, she was perfectly fine with removing it and even apologized for the timing. We both walked out full and happy of our experience! Lesson learned: you never know what is going to happen until you ask. I am normally not that person to voice my "negative" opinion to the restaurant staff, but I had to start somewhere.
