Jason and his team did a great job! My only regret is I didn't call them first. We ran out of water, tanks dry. Another local well pump company came out quickly and diagnosed that the well pump was needed to be replaced. They ordered a new pump, but didn't get me a quote for the work to be done for 9 hours, delaying getting the pump ordered. That should have a warning sign. A full 6 days later they had the pump and came out to install it. Right away they had issues and couldn't pull the pump. After much stress, I was out of town on an emergency assignment, I did what I should have done in the first place and call Superior Pump. Immediately after the CZU lightning fire came thru boulder creek and destroyed part of my well I was able to get superior pump to not only answer their phone on a Saturday but open their shop and sell me parts to make an immediate repair so I could have water in my tanks. I then hired them to make all the permanent repairs once we were able to move back. Jason was not only professional, but was kind, helpful, and understanding on what the Santa Cruz mountains just went thru. Jason Walsh at Superior Pump Company is a gem. I have a 20 foot sump in my french drain system. He replaced the pump, fixed the control box, and did minor repairs on 2 other pumps, all in just 2 hours. A few days later, the sump pump choked on a rock, and eventually we determined the sump needed to have 6-12" of mud sucked out of the bottom. Since I couldn't find a sewage truck company to do that for a reasonable price, he dug it out himself and saved me $1,000. And he only charged for travel one-way. He's techno-savy too -- printed his invoice from inside his truck. The huge water holding tank in our backyard in Scotts Valley started leaking water at the valve, and we called Superior Pump to come take a look. But then we accidentally broke off the valve when we were trying to adjust it to take a clearer picture. Water started gushing out unless we pressed something firmly against the hole in the tank. We did not have much experience with this type of things, and had to figure out step by step how to shut off the pumps. Jason from Superior Pump was super patient, and helped answer all our questions over phone calls and text messages when he was finishing up another job before coming to our house. Eventually Jason was able to switch out the old valve with a brand new one and saved the day. When he was here we also asked a bunch of questions about the pumps and generic maintenance and he was always patient to answer all of them. We are glad the emergency lasted only about 3 hours. This weekend I ran into our well water pump with the lawnmower and broke pipe fittings that connect to the pump. Water everywhere! I managed to shut off power to the house & pump and tried to buy pipe parts to replace that I broke. I am electrically challenged and had great concern when rewiring the 220V connections to the electronics connected to the regulator. I ran into a problem on Sat. and could not fix it. On Sunday morning I called Superior and spoke to Jason who was INCREDIBLY helpful. He asked me to send him photos by phone which he analyzed and advised me in detail what to do. The problem was solved. To highlight, I had called another pump company in Salinas on Sat. afternoon and they were not interested in our problem, not willing to allow me to come there to get parts and simply advised that they would only be available on Monday. Jacon, on the other hand, was willing to come out if needed on Sunday, but also offered considerable free advice that allowed me to solve the problem and not to electrocute myself! I needed to change out a metal tank that was old and leaking for a poly tank. Ken came by within a couple of days of me calling his company. He got back to me within a couple of days with a quote to replace the tank. They were swamped but put me on the calendar for the date that I needed within a months time. Superior pump IS superior. They set up out well to tank service, a very complicatedsystem and they service it whenever we have to modify it. John is the best... he comes very quickly when we call him, and even shuffled his schedule to come right away when we needed him after a relocation of tank. We are also general contractors, and if all the subs we worked with were as knowledgeable and as thorough as John work would be a lot more pleasant. John invoices you from his mobile office, and details materials and labor very accurately. Actually, Superior deserves more stars than you have available- i have absolutely nothing but great things to say-we recently had our well pump fixed by another company who charged us 5 k and left us without water,telling us our well had failed. I suspect that a contractor this good may be kind of rare but this company is the real McCoy. Ken, one of the owners, repaired our well which hadn't worked in a year. His demeanor and workmanship were first class. Apparently the first pump and control box were defective. He immediately scheduled a replacement of both with no hassles what so ever and replaced both within a couple of days. My experience with Superior Pump Co. went like this. I came home from work on 1/7/15 and found this random piece of paper laying on my front door step. It's a Time and Materials Estimate from Ken at Superior Pump Co. Funny thing... I never even heard of Superior Pump Co. and I certainly didn't call them and request that they come out to perform any sort of evaluation of my water system. So Ken reports on this Time and Materials Estimate that he wants to charge me $614.00 dollars for a service call to replace a solenoid valve, a check valve and a pipe nipple on my water system. What concerns me is that I never even requested he or anyone else to come onto my property and start any sort of work on my water system to begin with... and furthermore my water system is working fine, it isn't even broken to begin with, it has been, and continues to be, functioning flawlessly. So in a somewhat irritated state-of-mind get a call into Superior Pump Co straight away and now other this guy Jayson gets back to me, he leaves me a message and says that they were out doing a repair on neighbors system and noticed a leaking fitting on my system. So I suppose that while they were in the neighborhood they just decided that they would work up a quote for me and leave it on my front door step. Interesting think is that what Ken recorded on his Time and Materials Estimate is not matching up with the story Jayson gave me. Ken gave me a quote to replace a solenoid valve, a check valve and a pipe nipple... while Jayson says that they noticed a leaking pipe fitting. Personally I don't like the way Superior Pump Co does business. When I need a job done I'll get someone out to take care of it and I don't appreciate random strangers coming onto my property and telling me what they think needs fixing. read more
