This is an amazing shop both for sales and service. The bikes being sold you don't generally see anywhere. I took my bike to be serviced here and I was pleased to say the least. Joe, the owner, was very knowledgeable about my Ducati, and even my Buell which not many people know anything about. He gave me a great price for the work he did, and even found other issues with my bike when he had it and didn't jack the original price up. I left with the bike being better than it has been in years. He even gave me back the bike earlier than expected. I'd definitely recommend this shop to any biker. read more

Joe Tortoro is a real rider's shop owner. The guy stands behind his work, knows Ducs inside and out, and doesn't mind teaching what he knows if you care to listen. His shop is a mecca for Ducati enthusiasts and I'd recommend stopping by just to see the bikes in the shop if you're ever in the area. They've got expert level service on anything to do with Ducs and most other bikes, and could probably build you a bike from scratch if you really wanted. I had Joe and his team go to work for me on a cafe racer build off of a 2014 Duc Scrambler Full Throttle. The bike is now being featured all over Instagram and is a pleasure to ride. People have different experiences, but mine was great. read more

This shop is a joke! You would think by the quality of bikes being sold that the service would be top of the line. Dropped my bike off to have the carbs cleaned, after three months the owner told me he was still waiting on parts ("it takes a long time because he isn't a Honda dealer"). After picking up my bike un-fixed I brought it to another shop that doesn't deal in Honda bikes. It took only 10 days to get the bike back. The owner at Supermoto Italia is Lazy. Supermoto Italia has been the place that I have come to for my Italian motorcycles and other stuff for decades now. Joe T. is a straight up dude who is a friend to many people including some motorcycle industry insiders. As a fellow motorcycle enthusiast, The owner might keep you there talking about bikes allot longer than you intended, between that and the cool, ever changing selection of rare Italian racing machinery and the latest Ducati has to offer, be prepared to take your time and stay awhile. Speaking of that, there is a small cafe area...a couple of tables... where riders tend to congregate. Often bikers make Supermoto their destination after a days' riding, bring lunch and hang out. Bikers (and wanna be bikers) come from miles around even going out of their way (passing by other Ducati dealers) to visit Supermoto Italia because the experience is always one of welcome and interest. Sure, there will always be "haters" but you need to see for yourself. Joe has been running Supermoto for several years and solely for the love of motorcycling and comradery involved. A NY Italian motorcycle dealer doesn't stay in business this long unless doing something right. Honestly, there are some negatives with any business, especially motorcycle shops or service shops. But not to warrant the reduction in "reveiw stars" A business should be reviewed by the quality of service, the ability to provide to you what you are looking for and the trustworthiness of the owner or staff (not his opinions or his personality, although I would trust Joe over 99% of so-called "yelpies") If you want to drop off your Ducati or other bike and have some serious work done, done right, with proven parts that improve your bike, you can count on Joe to do it. There isn't 10 mechanics there to get it done fast like McDonald's...and the specialty is more for high end clients, professionals and the hardcore Ducati and Italian motorcycle enthusiasts. The smaller clients like the ones complaining in other reviews can fall through the cracks, yes, but when you consider it, what biker dudes whine like that? Perhaps it is because this is "Yelp" and "Yelp" is the sound a Chihuahua makes when you step on it's foot.... a guy being upset because the busy owner of a shop didn't call him back in time.... I have been riding bikes for more than 20 years and have met some great guys by stopping by at Supermoto Italia many times. Bike guys and car guys can have colorful personalities. I know that Joe treats everyone equally and that all clients are important. I see guys complaining about tank protectors or not being called back. You will never see a real complaint about the quality of work and never hear anything negative from anyone who actually knows the owner of Supermoto for several years because Joe T. is a straight up guy who has paid his dues and a talented, dedicated motorcycle enthusiast...period. read more

No way, not a chance. This is supposed to be an exotic import dealership for motorcycles, instead I felt like I was calling a 2nd hand shop. The customer service was terrible. I called a number of different times, and if they decided to answer the phone, I was made to feel that my questions were wasting their time. The salesperson placed me on hold frequently also, and all I was calling to check on was if they had a particular model in stock; due to their website only promoting models from 2011 and it's 2017. Who knows, maybe it's not even a certified dealership and maybe it is a 2nd hand shop. How don't you know your own inventory at a shop like this? After having my Ducati serviced by a local motorcycle shop, the joy of my life left not running at all. I searched for another shop through the internet and came across Supermoto Italia. After reading some reviews I was 50/50 in deciding if this was the shop I could trust with my pride and joy. Let me set the record straight! Upon walking in, a guy walked out from the back room and greeted me with a firm hand shake. He introduced himself and asked me how he could help me. I explained my issues and experience from the other shop and just in his tone and knowledge he stood out from other bike shops I've encountered. This is what stood out with "Joe", he said he would take a look, run a diagnostic, and would confirm with me what was needed before he would start. He is very very detailed, very professional through out the entire job. Joe had my bike running in just a few days, he called me to let me know my Ducati was finished. When I went to pick her up, he went over everything that was done. He even had pictures of certain issues showing me before and after. Every word he said to me was exactly what it was. When I left his shop, I got a phone call from him......... he called to ensure the ride home was smooth and that I made it home safe. I don't often write reviews, but this guy Joe is amazing. I hope this review helps others have faith in shops like this. I highly recommend dealing with this shop. I now have a place I trust my Ducati with. I wanted to be able to recommend this dealership, given the quality motorcycles they sell (Ducati, Bimota, etc), but cannot. The owner appears more willing to talk about how long he's been in the business, what a loyal customer following he has, etc., than to actually conduct business, be it service or sales. In my experience at least twice he promised follow-ups that didn't occur, and once when calling the dealership the phone was picked up with a profane conversation being overheard, then the phone slammed back down. The only reason I gave this establishment 1-Star is so readers don't mistake this business for being more. There is not a rating low enough available for choice. I wanted nothing to do with Joe Tortora, Owner of SuperMoto Italia, ever after my experience, and I told him that. My experience was encountered back in 2005. Last month I found out about a website called www.ripoffreport.com and to my surprise, Joe had given my personal information to some of his dinner guests and had them paste it all over the internet, while he added his. This is a highly unethical gesture, and one I don't believe anyone would expect from doing business with a representative of Ducati. Beware of leaving your personal information with this dealer. To make a long story short, and please feel free to get more of the details on www.ripoffreport.com, I spoke with Joe regarding a 996 biposto. It was during the 999 era, and I desired the older style. Contrary to Joe's accusations, I have been riding Ducati for quite some time and my current 916 model was not able to carry a passenger; which is what had me looking for a 996 or 998 biposto. My primary concerns revolved around if the bike had ever touched the ground in any capacity, whether tipped, knocked, dropped, accident, etc. I did not want a bike with a blemish. Joe told me he had a Ducati 996 biposto that was in excellent condition and had never touched the ground. I was not able to come into the shop, and Joe took that to his advantage to lie to me about the bike's correct condition. It was not until his post in 2007, on ripoffreport.com, that he admitted to the bike being in a "Reconstructed" state. I would never purchase a bike in a Reconstructed state, seeing as that was my whole premise for looking for one which wasn't. I asked why there was only one key. Joe stated that the owner must have lost the other. In actuality that is usually a precursor to the bike being in an accident. Joe stated that he(Joe Tortora) sold the bike to the original (1st) owner, so he would know if the bike had been in an accident, due to his shop doing all the maintenance and work on the bike. Joe was also adamant about me using his own buddy to transport the bike to my destination. Against my request of hiring a 3rd party, Joe insisted on his buddy, due to his buddy having an enclosed motorcycle trailer and my bike would be given greater attention and care. Eventually I agreed to Joe having his buddy transport the bike. When I received the bike in MI, the left fairing was cracked, the front fender was scratched, the exhaust tips were scraped, there were many imperfections with the bike. I called Joe and asked him about the front fender. He told me that I'm being too picky and that's normal wear and tear. I asked him by whose standards? The fender looked like it was ridden through rocks. Joe repeated with that was normal wear and tear. I asked Joe about the cracked fairing and the rivets on the exhaust tip being scratched. Joe told me that the bike was probably leaned against the wall of a garage by the owner. He also told me that the fairing was probably cracked in transit, and I should have hired a 3rd party transport to transport my bike. I took the bike to a Ducati tech who told me that the bike had had some serious work done on it. I asked him if he thought it had touched the ground in any capacity, and he told me that it was most likely in an accident. I asked him if he was sure, and he said he was sure without a doubt. He later pointed out how the odometer was disconnected and judging by some other things, the bike definitely had a greater amount of miles on it that what the odometer stated. The tech also said that the oil was filthy and it would be a good idea to change it right away. That was very interesting, because I did ask Joe about the mileage being correct, oil/fluids and maintenance, and he told me that the mileage was accurate and all the maintenance, including the oil changes, were up to date. At that point I understood why the oil light kept illuminating. In closing, I would caution anyone choosing to do business with Joe Tortora and SuperMoto Italia, in Saint James, NY to think about the extremely negative impact it could have on your life. Aside from your personal information not being held in confidence, his primary focus is obviously his well being over your's, and if he blatantly lied to me to make a sale, he'll do it to you. Unfortunately, when the front end became loose on the "Reconstructed" bike, my next stop was the hospital for the next 3-4 months. I will never make a decision based on an emotional attachment again. In closing think about this, there are pro athletes in New York who ride Ducati and I have met some of them. They all said they would never do business with SuperMoto Italia, and one of them said that a similar experience I had, happened to one of his friends. read more

Sorry, have to totally disagree with the 2 negative reviews posted. I have a Ducati Mulitstrada 1200S. While in for service from the dealer I bought it from new, side panel was scratched and had to be replaced, bracket for turn directional was broken, oil filter leaked, chain was over tightened. And was never told that the bike needed a fairly major service at 7,000 which includes adjusting the timing belt (not in owners manual but Ducati confirmed when I called them). Top it off, Supermotto discovered that the bike either came from the factory or was set up at dealer missing a sleave in the gear shift assembly resulting in play in the shifter and wear to the components. Brought the bike to Supermotto. Owner explained at length what needed to be done and assured me the bike would be treated well. Had it back in 2 days without a mark on it. Met all my expectations and then some. And when it comes to my bike, that's pretty hard to do. Joe, the owner of Supermotto Italia is a professional who takes pride in his work. Maybe the shop does not operate under your typical customer service model, but who cares. Suck it up. 100% satisfied....finally. read more

I went into supermoto to purchase a tank protector. The owner told me he was about to place an order to one of his vendors, so we flipped through a booklet until I found one that would fit my bike. He had me pay in advance and assured me that it would be there in 3 or 4 days. Over the weekend, I get a phone call from the owner, informing me that the protector I ordered was out of stock and will take about another week to arrive. I wait the week and call to see if it has arrived yet. He told me three or four more days. The following week, I happened to be in the area and went into the shop to see if it was there. He told me again, a day or two. At this point I had had enough. I requested a refund, but he said that because it was a special order item, the best he could do was give me store credit. I told him no and I would just wait for it to come in. A week later, I call again and he said it would definitely be in the next day. I went back to the shop 3 days later, and as I walked in the door he said it would take one more day, but volunteered to give me my money back. In the end, I got a refund, but was strung along for more than a month waiting for something that every motorcycle shop should stock. I wouldn't be surprised if the order wasn't even placed. read more
