We were a party of 5 at 4pm. We stood there and waited for about 20 minutes just to put our names on the waiting list (while they had a table available). They ignored us and continued to walk thru our group without making eye contact. Finally, an employee allowed us to add our name to the wait list. They said it would be a 30 minute wait. While waiting, we saw the bar area open with 4 chairs. But, they wouldn't let us order from the bar or sit at the bar (since we had an extra person). They also explained that if we sit at the bar, we have to stay in our seats in a row. WTH?? We were also advised that the kitchen was closed and that happy hour was no longer available (it was suppose to run from 3-6pm). We said we just really wanted to try mead and would wait. We left our names & phone number on the wait list. We ended up at LazyG and received amazing service, food, mead, beer, and wine!!! One might wonder, what is mead? Would I like it? Is it alcoholic? Well...the answer to the second two questions are both "yes"! The first question I'm a little shaky about. It's not beer, it's not wine and it's not cider. It's fermented from honey and juices. Bottom line is that it is delicious! It can be refreshingly low in alcohol all the way up to more than 20%. You can get a flight of some of the different types of mead. That's what I would do for the first time. We have been there a few times and the place has never disappointed. They have delicious appetizers, sandwiches and lots of delicious choices. If you want a unique drink and a light snack, they have that too. It's downstairs from the Spice Trader store and they do have an elevator. After a few of the stronger meads, you might need an elevator! Check them out! read more

I'm not normally a huge fan of mead, but this place looked so cute and I thought my dad would enjoy it so we stopped in on a recent trip to Prescott. The staff was very helpful with recommendations for each person's individual tastes. We ended up trying the Blueberry Spaceship cider (which was good, but very sweet, not sure I could drink a whole one by myself but it was very nice in small doses) and the Canicula which was much drier and very pleasant. The space itself is very cute and intimate and we didn't try any of the food but the menu was intriguing. The artwork on the bottles was very cool and you can purchase it in the form of stickers or prints. I also picked up a can of prickly pear mead for my husband who really enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend checking it out even if you, like me, are not really into meads/cider- they are good at finding something you will enjoy. read more

I spend a fair amount of time in Prescott but I steer clear of the courthouse square because it's always so packed with tourists. Superstition Meadery is changing that! Their meads are such a delight to my taste buds that I don't mind circling the square for a parking spot. The staff here may be just as awesome as the mead. I was passing through Prescott for a day and wanted to make the most of my stop. I looked up what Prescott had to offer and Superstition came up. I hadn't had mead in awhile so I came by for a tasting. They offer food too and have a full bar, but I only came for the mead flight. The flights come with 12 tastings and there's a good variety of mead in there. I didn't realize you could make blueberry flavored mead but on retrospect that makes sense and Superstition definitely proved to me that you can. Fun place to come and if I'm ever back with friends, will definitely bring them. So good that I walked away with three bottles of mead for myself. My favorite? Peanut Butter Jelly Crime. This was definitely an experience and if you've never tried you should definitely try or sample. Basically for those of you that don't know it is a wine tasting of wines that are mixed with honey. More on the sweet side and more like a port than a wine. However there stemware is definitely a reasonable price To purchase and the wine glasses are on the heavy side so seem to be more durable. Staff was not too friendly or knowledgeable. Struggled with answering questions that we had especially since this was a new experience for us. Although we are avid winetasters when traveling, we were not too knowledgeable of this type of tasting. Neither was the staff! And their food is all great - we always get a variety of things but you will never go wrong with the Endil Platter. The reviews are what drove this girl to jump into her car one day and make the drive from Phoenix to Prescott. It was one is the best decisions and road trips I've ever made. You doubt yourself or double check the address to ensure you're in the right place. This gem is located on the bottom floor of the store. When you first walk in be prepared to spend at least an honor ogling over all the trinkets delicious dips and spreads. I doubt you can walk into a regular and purchase any of these items. Now on to the main event. This venue is cozy and a perfect date spot. The tables have long benches and pillows on them and create the perfect cuddle nook. I adorrrrre this meadery. I didn't get a chance to sample the food here, so this review is based on ambiance, service, and drink offerings. Who knew I would find such a hidden gem tucked away in quiet Prescott? I highly recommend stopping by here if you're visiting Prescott or on your way further north. My friend doing a rotation in Prescott found this place through exploration, so I didn't know what to expect when he recommended we give it a try on my day-trip to Prescott. The entrance is tucked away in the downstairs of a local goods shop, but walking down the stairs is like walking into an intimate winery. There were cozy tables, comfortable sofa chairs, and casual high tables. Decor included rustic touches, complete with barrels and flasks of mead. So picturesque. The service is prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable. The menu is organized by mead, cider, special brews, and more. There's an option to taste 1oz pours and order full glasses of your favorites. Bottles are also sold at the front cashier. There's a fantastic deal of 12 1oz tastes for $24, and this offers a wide sampling of some of their most popular products. I unfortunately couldn't taste the ciders because I'm allergic to apples, but their other offerings impressed me enough for me to buy an entire bottle, something I haven't done at a private tasting venue before. Some of my favorites include: Blackberry Hex, blackberry mead: by far my favorite and the one I snagged a bottle of on the way out. The sweet mead was balanced so perfectly with tart blackberry that I couldn't resist. The tartness of the blackberry really came through, and I liked it better than the blueberry version. Ragnarok, wildflower honey and mango nectar: good flavor, a bit sweet and almost syrupy for my taste because it was sweet on sweet. Strawberry Sunrise, strawberry mead aged on vanilla bourbon beans: loved how the strawberry came through, and it would be a good choice for those who like creamier mixes. I've always thought vanilla and fruit was a strange combination, but this was pretty good. Juicius Caesar, grapefruit zest with amarillo and cascade hops: surprisingly hoppy, but then again the title did warn me. I could really tell that it was grapefruit zest instead of grapefruit fruit, and the bitterness was pretty pleasant. Blueberry Hex, blueberry mead: a sweeter cousin of the Blackberry Hex, this boasted of ripe blueberry flavor. I thought it was a bit less balanced without the tartness of blackberry, but certainly a great choice for blueberry lovers. Chocolate Strawberry Sunrise, strawberry and cacao with vanilla beans and wildflower honey: I was surprised by how much I liked this one, and the chocolate was much more subtle than I was expecting. Good strawberry flavor, robust mead. I tried eight pours and enjoyed almost all of them, so I'd say it's hard to go wrong. At usually 10%+ alcohol content, these meads are pretty strong! My friend, who isn't allergic to apples, also highly recommends their cider offerings. I can't wait for their new location to open in downtown Phoenix, although it might be better for my wallet that that's still in the works.. read more

We came here last night and had flights of mead. I'd never been before and my friend urged us to come. As much as I like alcohol (haha), mead tasting had never been on my list of things to try simply because after having tried them in Alaska, I concluded they were too sweet for my liking. I asked the server for recommendations based on my preferences and she gave me some suggestions and brought me splashes to taste. The cider was good and so I decided I could order some of them that fit descriptions I liked. The two in my flight that were excellent and not sweet were the San Simon Apple Barrel Aged. I wanted to buy a whole bottle after that... But didn't ($50 for 500ml ... Apparently I have expensive taste!!) The other one I enjoyed was Aphrodite 22 (or something like that). I might come back again given the great service and the lovely lounge, relaxing environment and even to try more because I did find less sweet meads to my taste. For those who are new to mead, they give a whole spiel about mead, the history behind it, how it's made, etc. it really is a cool experience and it's delicious. It is a bit sweeter than your typical other alcoholic beverage since it's made from honey, but my favorite part is the ability to taste the flavors that go into each particular drink. We ended up doing the 12 tastings as a group of 5 and added some other single tastings that we wanted to try and weren't included in the package. What a fun place to have a drink and a bite. My friend and I both ordered the twelve mead flight taster, which also had a few ciders in there. Twelve was way too much for one person. My friend did better than I did at drinking them. I am in love with the blueberry spaceship. If is amazing. Both of us bought mead amd cider. I wish I bought more, but they are coming to Chandler so I can go there. The blueberry cider is so good. The food was good also, just right for a tasting. Also, the staff were lovely. Found this Meadery while looking around a gift shop store. The Meadery is located in the lower basement area of the store, which I thought was super cool. The layout of this place was beautiful and the ambience was nice. I have to admit I had no clue what a Meadery was until we walked into this place. Hey, you learn something new everyday right?! For those of you like me, a Meadery is a winery that produces honey wine (aka a mixture of honey, water, and yeast). I tried the traditional Honey wine and thought it was good. The honey wine had a thick and almost syrupy taste to it. Although, I would stick to my regular red/white wines made from grapes, it was still neat to learn about honey wine and try it for the first time. FYI, the Meadery also serves food. read more

Tucked away in the basement of right off of the park square this little hidden gem is full of flavor and social life. Hand crafted mead a great place for pallets flights and excellent cheese boards. Stumbled upon this spot after being quoted a 45 minute wait for another spot for late lunch on Columbus Day. My girlfriend was so stoked on getting to taste Mead that we could not resist! We went in today on Father's Day, expecting to get a charcuterie board and do some mead testing because usually we come up toPrescott from Phoenix to pick up about 10 bottles of mead. It's really good however when we sat down at approximately 12:13 soon they opened, my daughter grabbed a seat for us for Father's Day, the so-called "supervisor" who refused to give us her name, was already overwhelmed, she said, "I'm not making a charcuterie board right now!!! we looked at the table next to us and they had a charcuterie board. She said it is the longest thing to make, and she doesn't have time right now. There was only about four tables and two people at the bar. Me being a business owner knows how important it is to have customer service and this place is lacking in a big way!! Unfortunately, me or my family will never go back.
