However, over the last two years, my rates started climbing significantly, hitting $170/month for a car I fully own. ​When I called Kemper to cancel because I was joining my husband's policy, the agent was rude and gave me incorrect information about how to close my account. Luckily, I followed my gut and called Adriana's. I spoke with Xavier, who was amazing. He clarified that I actually needed to sign specific paperwork to cancel--information Kemper failed to give me. We had a plumbing leak that flooded our home. Thinking we would not likely ever need insurance I had purchased a mid-range insurance that boasted savings. I was a sucker. We have been out our of our home for many months now and have had to fight tooth and nails every step of the way just to get them to pay anything. They underpay every estimate. We have spent several dozen hours arguing on the phone, with their representatives accusing us of lying, which we never have. The repairs cost us more than they paid, and we are still battling to get any payment for damaged personal items, even thought we low-balled our estimate just to be done with it. They have paid nothing on that so far. We have no choice now but to hire a lawyer to bring external authority in to the matter.
