Can't swear to the performance of the batteries yet but I need 4 12 volt for my golf cart and the Golf Cart place quoted me $1400. to replace them. So I started looking and the best price I could find is $800 on the batteries and Sur-Powr saved me about $90 per battery. The Trojans lasted 5 years and had a 1 year warranty so I will monitor the life of the Crowns sold by Sur-Powr and see if the value is the same. read more

Great price on an auto battery; about $35 less than your typical stores (Walmart, Sams, AutoZone, O'Reilys, etc...), and they cleaned the corrosion from my terminals and installed the new battery at no additional cost. Not having to return the old battery for the core charger saved me a significant amount of time, not to mention they got me in and out and in less than 20 minutes. My neighbor swears by the quality of the batteries, but this is my first time to check them out. I expect to get at least 3 years out of this one. I can appreciate this being a small, family owned specialty shop. There's adequate parking and access in and out is super easy. My gf and I stopped to grab some coffee in San Marcos for a few minutes and came out to a car w a dead battery. Needless to say we were in need of a jump start! Well we didn't have cables so I stopped the nearest stranger (the business owner of sur-powr as it turns out) and asked for a jump start. They kindly stopped everything they were doing to pull up and hook up their jumper cables and give our car life! The folks at Sur-Powr Battery are fantastic. If you are looking for knowledgeable, friendly, and honest service, do yourself a favor and bring your battery problems to Sur-Powr. I have purchased two batteries from Sur-Powr so far. Both were cheaper than Wal-Mart and came with better or comparable warranties. And if you don't actually need a new battery, they will let you know. I have stopped in on a few occasions when I had trouble starting my car (it's old), and they have always offered to test the battery thoroughly before talking about replacements. When my battery tested OK, they even suggested a few other possibilities to solve the problem and charged me nothing for the service (which I did not expect, but very much appreciated). As long as I live in Central Texas, I will go to Sur-Powr for my auto batteries. You should too! read more

Had the battery in an APC brand UPS (computer battery backup/surge protector) go bad. I had a prior experience with a bad battery in another model APC unit, and from checking on-line, found that ordering a replacement battery from APC, including a LOT of shipping charges for the heavy battery, cost more that going out and buying a whole new unit (in the area of $75.00). When this latest one went, I checked to see if there was a battery dealer closer to home than the battery dealer I know of on Burnet Rd. in Austin, and found this business on the northern edge of San Marcos, Texas. Called them, they had the battery in stock, took my whole unit to them, they installed the new battery w/o any labor charge, and the entire cost, with tax, was just over $20.00. Very nice people to deal with, and I saved a bundle - can't beat that! read more
