The sad reality of ski boot buying is that ski boots suck, have always sucked, and will continue to suck. Even if you're willing to spend 3X the cost of regular boots (which is about what you'll pay here), it's practically guaranteed that you'll have issues and need to work them out and it will take time, lots of time. I have had the same ski boots for about 15 years and when the liner was starting to come apart I didn't want to take any chances. I was sold by the fancy looking technology Surefoot offers (mostly the orthotic foot scanners they put front and center in the shop) and assumed time had improved boots generally. My total (including heaters) for a "Surefoot" branded boot came to about $1600. The shop doesn't like to focus on price, you have to ask (nothing is posted on the walls) and the answer you get is without context. One boot (a Spyne) was quoted to me at about $1300. I have to assume they were including their custom liner and orthotic, because looking it up on my phone you can buy it online for $600. While they talk about the perfect fit in the sales process, they don't mention you're likely not getting one (without lots of effort and many return visits). They also don't mention when or why you should come back in. After 2 days my shins were bruised up by my new boots and I thought I'd have to stop skiing. I returned to the shop and we tried a few things. Eventually they gave me a softer boot (lower performance) and at my request made a couple pads that would would keep the front of the boot off my now damaged shins. Thankfully that kept me skiing, but I feel like I took a step back in performance and fit rather than forward (compared to my old boots). Not to mention near daily, I was back in the shop trying to get a decent fit (sore arches, etc). If I were doing it all over again... I'd start with the expectation that boot fitting is hard, there is no magic, and it will take time. Spending a lot of money here doesn't guarantee you anything other than the right to keep coming back to Surefoot to have them tweak your boots. While their fit guarantee and repeated efforts saved me from completely losing my sh*t, in the end I'm not a super happy customer. read more

Absolutely no other way to buy ski boots if you want the best performance with the most comfortable fit! Scott was awesome! He made a couple of boot recommendations based on a 3D scan of my foot, then custom molded the liners along with a custom foot bed. They were so comfortable I didn't want to take them off. I can't wait to get out and ski in them! I can already tell I'll have such better control with the perfect fit! If they need adjustments in the future I can go to one of many locations. Be very careful of the Lifetime Guarantee. It states in the fine print, "This guarantee does not cover the natural breakdown of materials over extended time and use." This basically means the only thing important in the guarantee, and the only thing likely needing protection, is excluded. If the lining breaks down, you are out of luck as Surefoot will not stand behind it, and they will tell you so in an arrogant, condescending and harsh manner. The sales pitch was "never need to buy boots again." That certainly seems consistent with a Lifetime Guarantee. Too bad that really means "read the fine print............you're out of luck if your boot loosens up." Save your money. Buy your boots from someone else, and pay half to two thirds less for the same thing. Any legit manufacturer will cover the shell for a warranty claim. Any good ski shop can fit you to perfection. Don't waste your money on custom liners as they are merely expensive and no better than any other boot material out there. Be cautious of Surefoot. They have a unique attitude in the retail world. They challenged my intelligence, credibility and recollection. They offered $50 off a $1,500 set of new boots to accommodate me. Obviously they do not care. read more

I just bought my first pair of custom ski boots and I couldn't be happier. I'm a lifelong skier, and I've always had funky issues with my ski boots due to my wide feet and high arches. A couple of my friends recommeded Surefoot, so I decided to give it a shot. I purchased the complete Surefoot ski boot setup (custom orthodics and liners + shell). The entire process took about 1 hour. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful throughout the fitting process. The boot tech informed that my liners were getting filled with their new memory foam material (apparently their groundbreaking liner material that just came out in the 2016-17 ski season). By the end of the fitting process my boots felt snug and comfortable. I've now skied in these boots for multiple days at Deer Valley and I'm very impressed. The boots helped me retain a forward aggressive skiing position while remaining comfortable on my feet and shins. I can really feel the difference in my skiing and haven't needed any adjustments so far. I'm going to recommend Surefoot to all of my friends that want to improve their skiing with happy feet! read more

Came in for my first custom boot experience, was greeted and taken care of by the first moment by Tommy the manager. Seamless process, quick 20 minute fitting to find the right orthotic shape and the technical boot for a wide foot. Cool injection process to give you extra cushion, I went out skiing for two days and had a discomfort in my shin, came back in and Tommy and Scott were quick to diagnose and fix the problem, boots fit snug and perfect. I am a Ski instructor and former racer. On october 12 I left logan in search of boots for this year. With how many days i spend in my boots its very important to have well fitting boots. Surefoot exceeded my expectations. They had me stand up on a machine that measured the size and weight distribution on my foot. They were able to find a boot that worked good for me. The very best customer service. My husband purchased custom foam injected ski boots at this store 2 years ago on the last day of our trip. Last year they really hurt and they continued to make adjustments. This trip we stopped there first and they gave him a new boot. Those hurt and bruised his foot. Think twice before buying and custom made ski boots. I have fought through years of these customs injected boots that have been painful, given me bruises and making skiing a miserable time. The funny this is I rented a set boots from a local ski shop and it was a pleasure to ski for the day. Went back to surefoot again to have the boots adjusted and they look like my feet are distorted and I get comments in the gondola about how weird they look. When I reached out to surefoot there answer was the boots are old and we will give you a small credit for the boots. I explained again these bouts are an issue from day one and they are killing me and making skiing miserable. Let them know about the lifetime fit or replacement policy. Was informed that the replacement policy would not be honored. It's a shame that they don't stand behind there product or at the end of the day don't care about customer service. read more

I bought boots in March of 2013 at Surefoot and they were not that comfortable - I have high arches and weird feet. I year later I took them back and they gave me new Nordica shells for my Langes. Made all the difference in the world and they mean it when they say their custom boots are guaranteed for life. If you ski, this is the BEST shop in the World for boots. Ski boots suck one size fit all just means one thing - Hell! I have had ski boots custom made in Whistler and they sucked, resorted to skiing with loose buckled sponge blobs, which killed the performance. The pain was so bad I was ready to convert to snowboarding, ugh, to be banished from Alta, Deer Valley and no more moguls. A buddy recommended this life changing boot shop. I have sent ton's of buddies here. Custom made boots in less than 45 minutes. Yes it's a little more pricey, but we are not talking Rock Star pricing. Sure foot is great! read more

I just replaced my 10 year old pair of Lange Surefoot boots with a new pair of Lange Surefoot boots last week. I thought I was hating my new skis, but it turns out that I really needed new boots. The Deer Valley location might be the best one I've visited, and I've been to a handful over the years to get small tweaks on my original pair. I wanted a boot that would give me good performance, but I also don't want to be uncomfortable all day long. Bill fitted me in the evening, and I skied a few days on them before popping back into the shop for a minor adjustment. Just like with all things custom, they may need a tweak or two after using them. That's my favorite thing about Surefoot - you can adjust them until they are right at any of their locations. (You don't have to suffer with ill fitting boots if you travel to different mountains or you're having some kind of unexpected issue.) Bill also helped place my Carv sensors, and got my heels locked down. I had a great day of skiing today, and my new skis are now responding beautifully! This is the most comfortable and responsive pair of ski boots I've ever owned. If you're looking for a little bit of everything (performance, fit, comfort) then you're a Surefoot person. read more

I purchased Surefoot boots from the Santa Monica store and they were unbelievably painful. I thought they would break in after 3 or 4 days. Little torture devices were unbearable to wear until my feet were numb from the pain. Was ready to switch to snowboarding as even the custom boots are painful. That is until I met Jason Harris at the Park City location. He is a magician! Within 3 hours and about 3 adjustments I had boots that felt as comfortable as sneakers. Would HIGHLY recommend seeing Jason if you have lost all faith in ski boots. 100% worth the money. They will go above and beyond to make sure you walk out happy and comfy. read more

Had a great experience getting a new set a boots. Thought my old boots were pretty good but the difference was significant. I never realized how much my feet moved around in my previous boots- and how much extra effort I expended skiing. Tommy did a great job setting the boots up. Went with the Lange SX 130 and it was extremely comfortable. Did 21 runs the first day and felt great. The boots are expensive but was well worth it for me. Thanks Tommy! read more
