BEC Sandwich double egg, double meat
    Robert B.

UPDATE: Surf Bagel reached out to discuss my complaint and they resolved the issue! i just purchased a breakfast sandwich at the lewes location (double egg and meat), drove home without checking and this is what I received. Seriously?!? if the restaurant is going to upcharge for the extras then the customer should receive what they paid for. Not the first time quality control seems to be an issue. If you patronize this location, check your order before you leave.

Always a great experience at Surf Bagel! My only wish is that they'd switch to better gluten free bagels like some of the other bagel shops we love. Overall it's always delicious! And great for a quick bite. I don't go as much as I used to because I started making my own GF bagels. But when we're in a pinch I'm happy to stop here!

This is a great option for very good bagels near the Five Points intersection in Lewes! My wife and I shared the nova lox and cream cheese bagel (plain). One son had the breakfast burrito, and the other son had a steak and egg bagel (plain). Everyone was pleased with the bagels which had a nice texture overall. Parking can be a bit crazy on Sunday mornings when it's super-busy, so be sure to pack your patience. The interior has limited seating but most folks are here to pickup their "grab-n-go" bagel sandwich orders.

It's Wednesday morning ordered for delivery. A bacon egg and cheese bagel lightly toasted. Was delivered quickly. I'm glad they offered scrambled eggs, I'm visiting from Florida and I never seen scrambled eggs offered as a choice for bagels back home. Food was good.

We were on our way back home from the beach and wanted a quick bite to eat, when I say this is not a place you want to skip!! From the bright, open spaced welcoming ambiance, to the super friendly service, yummy fresh bagels, crispy yet soft potatoes, and last but not least the breakfast burritos that are stuffed perfectly! 10/10 recommend You won't be disappointed.

Love coming to Surf Bagel anytime we are in town. They have the best bagels and burritos! I usually get the bacon egg and cheese bagel, lox and cream cheese with capers or the beach burrito. The beach burrito has avocado, spinach, egg and cheese. It's a big portion. Sometimes I can save half a bagel for another meal. The kids like the chocolate chip bagel. The inside is decorated with a beachy bagel theme. There are seats and booths inside and also outdoor seating. My husband loves their ice coffee. Will be back again!

What isn't there to say about surf bagel? This is our first stop on the way into Rehobeth every year. We stop another time and then have breakfast on the way. Out of town! There bagels are perfection! Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Whether you toasted or not, it is exactly what you want in a bagel. Let's not forget about the cream cheese. Our favorites are scallion and vegetable. My dad wanted to try something new this year so he got the apple cake which hit the spot. It was full of apple slices and with a sweet treat, he was looking for. The lines may be long, but they are efficient and your order gets called within minutes. With multiple locations, you can hit up a surf bagel when you're in the area! The location in Lewes is lots of fun with tables outside.

Great service, delicious food, friendly employees, reasonable prices. Enjoyed the outdoor seating. Was our first time going to a surf bagel and will continue to come back!

Different Cheesesteak'esque sandwich #1193. I got a steak, egg and cheese on everything bagel. November Saturday morning and this place was busy. I liked the surfer decor and names for everything. I read the menu (in my head) in a Keanu Reeve's surfer dude voice. I liked that my sandwich was $8.50. The Chicago dog special looked interesting. I'm curious about the everything bagel roll. My sandwich was good enough. It was a little dry.

I bought the bagel there and made my own sandwich at home, spot on bagel

Ask the Community - Surf Bagel

Anyone else think their bagels are salty?

The everything bagels are definitely salty. Most places don't put salt on everything, but at surf bagel, they take that name seriously. I've switched to wheat, which isn't as salty, but I can still taste salt. I wonder if it's the cream cheese?

Only exception is when I'm back home in NYC, I'll have a local BEC (Bacon/Egg/Cheese) on a kaiser roll or an everything bagel + cream cheese since you know...bagels in the DMV are MID. So, it's some surprising that I rate Eggcellent a solid 4, as I rarely visit restaurants for breakfast. Located in Downtown Lewes, DE, I agree with some of the other reviewers who describe this joint as an "elevated diner." The interior dining room is teeny tiny; like shoe box size. Best bet for a table is the enclosed outdoor patio, which is where we sat. There were three of us, and in addition to our entrees, two of us ordered mimosas, while I had black coffee. I tried a sip of the mimosa. It was fine...a bit too sweet as the Orange Juice tasted like concentrate and not fresh...but fine just the same. Entrees arrived within 10 minutes of placing orders. My meat lovers omelette was good. A heaping portion of ham and sausage were folded into the fluffy egg mixture. The home fries could've been more crispy and were a tad underseasoned. The hot sauce and table S&P provided additional flavor. Classic dish of eggs, home fries, and sausage patties was quite satisfying. The sausage was the size of a hockey puck and tasted really good, especially with the slight char from the flattop grill. The bagel with cream cheese and lox was probably the best thing at the table. A toasted bagel was topped with generous amounts of smoke salmon, capers, and slivers of shaved red onion. I tried a piece, and realized I should've ordered this. Service was as expected. Staff would routinely stop by to check on us, and kept water glasses filled, as welll as my essential cup of morning java. We had an enjoyable experience, albeit felt a bit rushed towards the end of the meal. But I understand, since there was a constant wait for tables, and as a business, there is the need to turnover customers to make way for new seatings. For three adults, entrees with beverages, tax and tip was a bit over $75.

The line wasn't out the door, but it was busy. I ordered a chai latte and the Rise Up breakfast burrito. My burrito came out in about 10 minutes, but my chai latte took 30 minutes. I understand it's peak season at a beach resort and staffing can be a challenge, but if an establishment cannot provide reasonable timing for orders, they should limit the number of customers they take at once. They continued accepting orders despite clearly being unable to keep up. The gentleman behind me waited 25 minutes with his wife and three children before leaving after paying because he said the wait was "insane," and I agree. For $17.25 for a coffee and a breakfast burrito, the experience was not worth it. Highly recommend avoiding this location during the season. Very disappointed. They can do better.
