Stopped here for a quick breakfast. Huge space. Lots of seating. Cute decor, bright and clean. The gentleman that took our order was a sweetheart. I suggested green olive cream cheese and he loved the idea. Ordered 2 Taylor ham, egg and cheese, 1 bacon egg and cheese and one plain with plain cream cheese. Quality bagels for the "south". The vibes here are great and the staff is very friendly. My mom lives nearby so I come here every time I visit. I have to say during the offseason my bagel always seems a bit old and stale. My last 3 times here the bagels were ordered toasted for our sandwiches and they were not toasted. Also, the cheese was missed on a sandwich. No big deal but it makes a huge difference when a bagel is not fresh and also not toasted. That being said, during the summer the bagels are fresh and everything is great. Maybe I am a bit of a bagel snob. The coffee is always fresh and you definitely have to try the lox spread. It is incredible. read more

Great spot to pick up breakfast or lunch. I like this location best for the ample parking, easy in and out on to rt1, and the staff. During the in season I would highly recommend ordering though "Local, by toast" app to essentially skip the line by placing your order through the app. It will tell you what time to pick up your order, so just show up and walk past everyone and pick up! read more

Love their onion & everything bagels. But their "veggie" cream cheese didn't have veggies in it - just plain cream cheese with a few tiny flecks of scallions and carrots. (See photo). When I opened the bag - in store- I thought they mistakenly gave me plain cream cheese. I showed it to them and they said that's how they make it. I asked if they could add more chopped veggies - after all I paid $6.50 for "veggie" cc - they said no. I'd already paid and we had ordered two bagels for the road so I did not ask for a refund. Will never come here again for anything other than bagels. Also, the "toasted" bagels were warm but not toasted. read more

The blue hen was AMAZINGGGG I had my doubts at first at a old bay seasoned bagel with chicken salad in-between but as a Marylander who's going to UDel I tried it anyways and am so glad I did. Stopped in the other morning for a bagel and a drink. Bagel & drink arrived quickly and I sat down at a table to eat. The table was dirty and bery sticky. It wasn't a busy time of the morning around 9:15. There were several employees behind the counter hanging out talking and not busy working. I got up and left. When I'm in Lewes/Rehoboth, I always stop by surf bagel to grab a breakfast sandwich when I'm on the go! They have a huge menu to pick from, so there really is something for everyone. Surf Bagel is one of my favorite spots to hit while we're doing the outlets in Rehoboth. Their fresh bagels, great coffee, friendly staff, and tasty sandwiches mean we are never disappointed! This time I got the Malibu Bunny bagel sandwich which came with avocado, veggie cream cheese, tomato, and lettuce. My only complaint is that this sandwich could use some sprouts but regardless, it was excellent. I got it on a roasted tomato bagel which was fresh & soft. Stopped in for a dozen bagels, since my grandson has a dairy allergy I asked if their bagels have any dairy in them. To my surprise the cashier said that all of their bagels have milk powder in them. I got a dozen anyway but had to go down the road to Panera Bread that does not have any dairy in their plain and everything bagels. I don't think that traditional bagels use dairy in their bagel recipes. read more

Stopped here with a friend and our two kiddos before making the trip home from the shore. The shop is cute, in an easy-to-access strip mall with plenty of parking. Inside was PACKED at around 9 am on a Sunday. Lots of seating, mostly claimed, and a long line at the counter. Folks are the register took our orders quickly, and we waited along a crowded sidewall, where there the coffee urns are available for self-service. It took longer than I would've liked for four bagels, but that's what happens when a place gets slammed. When we got in the car, I realized our orders weren't quite right -- my everything bagel wasn't very "everything," nor was it toasted. My daughter's everything with butter actually had cream cheese. And my friend's son's chocolate chip bagel was actually a cinnamon raisin (he's not into cinnamon). Minor errors, but still frustrating after waiting 20ish minutes for something so simple. Good news is the bagels were delicious! I'm willing to give them another try when we return to the shore, but I'm not ready to declare them our traditional stop just yet. read more

Never disappointed with surf bagel! Ordered an old Bay bagel with Taylor ham, egg, and avocado. Was so filling and just the right amount of salt and spice. My co-pilot ordered a egg everything with egg, bacon, and avocado. The bagel was just a right amount of chewy and soft, a perfect balance... with a little bit of crustyness on the outside. Bagels are too dense and not chewy like the traditional Jewish bagel. I decided to give them a try and asked for an sausage, egg, and cheese everything bagel. The everything bagel had nothing on but a few miserable poppy and sesame seeds. Between this place and the local Jewish deli, you're SOL when it comes to good tasting bagels in the Rehoboth/Lewes area. read more

I ordered a chai latte and the Rise Up breakfast burrito. My burrito came out in about 10 minutes, but my chai latte took 30 minutes. I understand it's peak season at a beach resort and staffing can be a challenge, but if an establishment cannot provide reasonable timing for orders, they should limit the number of customers they take at once. They continued accepting orders despite clearly being unable to keep up. The gentleman behind me waited 25 minutes with his wife and three children before leaving after paying because he said the wait was "insane," and I agree. For $17.25 for a coffee and a breakfast burrito, the experience was not worth it. Highly recommend avoiding this location during the season. Very disappointed. They can do better.
