I ordered the horchata with almonds and it was delicious! My FIL got the chocolate and vanilla swirl and he loved it too. The shop is walking distance to the beach and park. Plenty of parking and most take their yogurt to go so there's room to sit at the 3 tables with umbrellas that they have. Don't sleep on this shop, give their yogurt a try. I ordered a kids size pomegranate/plain tart swirl. Not bad. The tart was a little too soggy. Not at stiff as the pomegranate, but flavor was good. I topped it with dragon fruit boba. Visited with my niece who absolutely loves this spot and was impressed with the prompt, friendly, service and variety of toppings to choose from (although I had the yogurt chips and thought they tasted a tad artificial). I've been coming here for years. I even have multiple loyalty punch cards because I come so often. That's why I'm so disappointed that samples have been taken away. One of the best parts of frozen yogurt is being able to try a flavor before committing to a cup. With prices around $6 or more, it doesn't make sense to expect customers to buy something they may end up not liking. Without them, I'm much less likely to try something new or think twice about coming in at all. I sometimes want to eat ice cream/yogurt after dinner and so happy they are open until 10pm (Sunday 9pm) Yesterday I got there around 8:30pm, some customers were eating ice cream ( maybe they wanted to eat ice cream after dinner like me :) ) I tried Vanilla with raspberry topping and I liked it. It said, "no sugar added" but it tasted very sweet. 12 oz was good enough for me. Service was good. I think the price is reasonable compared with other ice cream places. There are some tables in front of the shop also there are parking spaces so you can eat in your car too. Visited here this afternoon and was refreshed to encounter a local business which was so personable and always seems to be! The young lady who helped us was very kind to my daughter. The whole place was clean and prepped! I was bummed that they didn't have peanut butter flavor today, but it didn't stop the rest of the party from getting frozen yogurt. I did try the blueberry cheesecake which was great! I was excited to hear that they are working on a system that you can check ahead with the flavors of the day. There was ample parking. After mindless rave to the down right hurtful reviews, I found what I was looking for in a person named Greg... Greg M. This is a tale like any other. A map would be useless for this adventure, I followed the advice to travel downwind with the cool breeze asking a bike path, ocean adjacent. It pushed me all the way to the shack of sweets and sprinkles. I could turn back now, but Greg M.'s words rang in my head...the best sprinkles in town. I was not disappointed. Dare I say these sprinkles were life altering. Sweet creamy goodness mixed with an orgasmic crunch. The clouds parted, doves took off, and the heavens sang! The meaning of life was found and no one could take it away. That is until I wanted more. I spent my life's saving away at that Surf 'N' Yogurt. I kept returning for that high but I needed more and more to satiate the thrill of the meaning of life. I went to Surf N Yogurt on Seaward today to cheer myself up. It's been a tough week, and an even tougher year. It was either William Shakespeare or Drew Carey who once said that "when sorrows come, they come not [as] single spies, but in battalions." Maybe it was Mariah Carey? My point is that your own misery tends to multiply unless you take action or get some help. I've been battling a malaise recently and generally struggle with the ultimate finality and cruel inevitability of death. So, I try to lift my spirits by getting out of the house and doing something that brings me joy. Jim Carrey. It may have been a Jim Carrey quote - definitely not Mariah. While driving to Surf N Yogurt for a medium size cup of joy, however, I started ruminating on life's larger and mostly unsettling questions. How am I to live an unburdened, fully-actualized life in the face of the insidious and unrelenting march of time that imperceptibly subsumed my youth until middle age forced me to face a shared and uniquely human sense of dread inextricably tied to our unavoidable and ultimate demise that is cloaked in an eternal, yawning chasm of inky blackness? Surf N Yogurt has the best sprinkles in town. They're a wonderful crunchy complement to the cool and refreshingly tart frozen treat. A well-proportioned frozen yogurt helps me focus on the search for some rough set of foundational principles for my life amongst the apparently random states of disorder and inexplicable irregularities in the world. For example, I often worry about the slowing expansion of the universe and its inevitable contraction that shall, in all likelihood, result in a catastrophic implosion that will end observable time and space as we know it. Surf N Yogurt has a wonderful selection of fresh berry toppings and toasted coconut, too. I absolutely adore the chewy-sweet texture of coconut and the unmistakable flavor of fresh strawberries. Middle age also brought me the foul and bitter flavor of regret, which is compounded by my increasingly pronounced and growing number of nagging physical infirmities and limitations that come naturally with age. I ordered a Dole Orange frozen yogurt with coconut and fresh strawberries, but then decided to have more sprinkles. I noted the clean and well-stocked toppings station located just inside the tiny Surf N Yogurt storefront. As I waited at the the register for my extra sprinkles, a small family moved behind me near the entrance - a mother, father and young daughter. I couldn't help but notice the unbridled joy and frenetic energy that the child possessed, and the mother's distracted focus on her apparent mission to count and recount the rumpled dollar bills and assorted coins locked in her tightly clenched fists. I quietly turned to the Surf N Yogurt clerk and asked her to take the $10 that I slipped her to pay for the young family's yogurts. The clerk smiled and I moved on feeling somehow lighter and more at ease than I had all week. The clerk tapped on my car window in the parking lot a few minutes later, however, letting me know that she needed another $5.22 because the family couldn't cover the $27.83 yogurt bill that I'd apparently agreed to subsidize. I eventually provided the additional money after emptying my wallet, scouring my ashtray for laundromat change, and retrieving several sticky quarters languishing in my cup holder and on the floor beneath my seats. Meanwhile, the family of yogurt grifters evaporated into the early evening fog. Oddly though, I started to feel normal after my scavenger hunt for sticky coins. Bringing joy to others, suffering the relatively benign consequences of my feeble attempt at generosity, and spending twenty minutes judging and cursing that young, lovely family for spending way too much money on frozen yogurt was actually cathartic and settled my restless psyche. Getting involved in the messy frustrations of daily life with others seemed to have brought me out of my lonely emotional spiral for a time. But seriously, $30 on frozen yogurt? Most of the shoes in my closet cost less than $30. I learned an invaluable lesson today: Don't focus on what you can get in life; focus on what you are in a position to give.
