They took away the free towels and now charge extra for them. How are we supposed to properly dry our cars? On top of that, something is always broken or not working properly, whether it's the vacuums or the compressed air. This place has become terrible. I pay a monthly membership and the service continues to get worse, yet they keep taking away features that were included. I really was looking forward to this car wash opening as there wasn't one in the area. At the beginning this place was really nice but has gone downhill FAST! Having a monthly membership (tag on car) shouldn't have you waiting behind someone who's paying by card at the machine. At times I've almost been late to work because of two or three cars paying by card. The machine should be moved to the lane closest to the office and there should be a "fast pass" lane only. Literally would make the experience so much faster ESPECIALLY since the worker already has to walk over to help the person pay with card anyways. The wash is very hit and miss as well. Most of the time the brushes don't even touch the car and some don't even spin or work. The soap at times is hardly ever coming out. The vacuum cleaners are starting to not work as well and constantly people are having to move to different stations to get a good working on. The towels are always out and not refilled on time. The sinks they have there are sometimes broken and the bathroom can be really dirty at times. It's really a shame because a lot of private car services that take clients to and from the airport nearby really was looking forward to this and now have slowly started leaving it. I have a lot of friends who feel the same and will be canceling the monthly program as it's just not worth the headache. I will say most of the staff is really nice though. read more

GO TO PALMS. GO TO PALMS. GO TO PALMS. My first -- and last -- experience with Surf Express Car Wash was on Saturday (02/07/2026). I'll lay this out chronologically, because nearly every step of the experience went wrong. First, I pulled through the cashier lane and purchased the $20 wash. That was the last smooth part of the visit. About halfway through the wash, my car suddenly came to a screeching stop. Every machine shut off at once. I waited 20... 30 seconds... nearly honked and considered getting out of my vehicle. After about a minute, a siren went off and everything started back up again. No explanation. After the wash, I pulled into a vacuum spot. The vacuums were extremely weak -- to the point that it significantly prolonged the process. I've used plenty of car wash vacuums before; these were noticeably underpowered. Because the vacuums weren't effective, I decided to use the mat cleaning machine. I ran one of my floor mats through, and it came out visibly warped and hardened in one area, almost burned. (See attached photos.) I brought the damaged mat to the cashier. Initially, she seemed annoyed that I was raising the issue, but eventually we filed a damage claim. I returned to my car to finish cleaning. About halfway through, I heard someone yelling, "Sir, sir!" It was the same cashier letting me know she had accidentally charged me $60 instead of $20. She said I would receive a full refund. A few days later, on Tuesday (02/17/2026), I received a call regarding the floor mat claim. I was told there was no evidence the mat wasn't already damaged prior to using their machine, so the claim would not be approved. For context, I drive a 2021 BMW 330i. I'm not trying to scam a car wash over a floor mat. I simply expected their equipment not to damage my property -- and if it did, that it would be handled appropriately. I understand how claims processes work, but that doesn't make this acceptable. Between the wash malfunction, weak vacuums, damaged equipment, incorrect charge, and denied claim -- this was a frustrating experience from start to finish. Later, I was late for work because of issues at the gate, and the Texas area manager texted, was pretty rude, and refused to show me any written policy about sticker placement. Worst car wash. $20 and my truck is nowhere near clean. I cleaned most of it after with a damp rag that I had to provide myself because the drying rags were never replenished the entire time I was at the car wash. There were blue spots from the soap not getting washed off properly and just straight up dust still present because the wash was so poor. The vacuums also have no power at all. Save your money and go somewhere else. I went to a surf thru at a different location just 2 weeks ago and had a very different experience. read more

The Ben White location has awful, poor, unprofessional management, saying that they are corporate. I was in a different car, and I was trying to get it washed. I told them that I have a membership and that my car was in the shop getting fixed. They told me that I have to purchase a one-day membership when I already have one in order to use the wash. They use little to no soap on the Ultima package wash; they do not hand out trash bags or the scent freshener, and it takes them forever to respond when you drive up, always having trouble with the gate lift. Calling corporate about a concern is another issue in itself. For the amount you pay each month, the service doesn't match. They were so much better when they first opened. I will be canceling my membership. read more

I talked with the staff, and they said to call the listed number, but I have yet to receive a call back about this matter. I'm very frustrated and disappointed with the lack of service and communication. - I've been paying for an "Epic" carwash, but each time I go through, I receive the lower level carwash. - The vacuums have barely any suction left. - The wheel wash only gets the outermost parts of the tires, and completely misses the tread and wheel well, leaving them dirty. + Great on-site staff, not so much online staff + Decent carwash, but definitely not worth $32/month read more

There's not much to say about a car wash. It's more expensive, but more thorough, than the ones at the gas station. The staff today was friendly. And I appreciated that the car wash used name brand products like Armor All on my tires. I think my car came out a bit cleaner than the current chain I'm using as well as drier. Their dryers seemed to do a better job and I had less water spots. Since this is so near my office, I may well be switching to their membership plan. read more

Don't do it. Paid 20 bucks for the extreme car wash. Drove my car thru twice and vehicle is still dirty. Spoke with the manager Katie who said my car was so muddy they couldn't get all the grime off? There was zero mud on my car. Kitties climb on it and leave paw marks but there was no mud. What funny is I have never had this issue with Palms Car Wash I just didn't want to make the drive out to Brodie and decided to give these guys a try. The manager proceeded to tell me that because I was off the premises she could not do anything for me. HOW ABOUT THEY PROMISE A CLEAN CAR PERIOD. Super friendly staff, convenient location, ample amount of cleaning stations. The air compressor is a big help when deep cleaning my car as well. The only reason I am rating this a 3 is because every time I run my car through the wash, it's never fully clean. I.e. I have to while down my entire hood to get it fully clean. I take good care of my car so I would be doing a full while down outside anyway but would rather just have it come out almost spotless since I'm paying for the most expensive wash. An upgrade to the wash itself would be ideal but if the location started offering free cleaning towels, that would also suffice because then I wouldn't have to buy my own to clean all the spots the washer missed. read more

I got the top wash which was $18. They had one person spraying the front of the car with water prior to entry, but no one scrubbing and she only did one half of the front. There are no towels or cleaner, although they did have a vending machine with supplies. Free vacuums were good. For the price, I would go somewhere else where they pre-scrub and offer towels and cleaners. It was nice, new and clean. read more

Afternoon, I've been living in ATX for about 6-7 months and I been coming here to wash my car off and on. Every time the staff is helpful before I enter the wash, and direct me where to go. Recently my front bumper was falling off because of ATX hills. They noticed my bumper was half on half dragging on the street. They called the site manager. Linda came over quickly and asked me questions about my bumper falling off. Mind you I'm at the front of the line holding everyone up. I told her it's rubber but she said it could damage my car and the car wash as well. They quickly placed my bumper back on and at the end of the wash she came up to me with zip ties! Expensive for a drive thru car wash especially when it misses a lot of spots. And not like hard to clean stuck on dirt, I mean literally misses areas completely. Center of hood, center of tailgate (for trucks). Maybe it'll work better on small cars but will not be returning in my f-150. Friendly staff though! read more
