I wanted to leave a review when it happened but I would get so upset every time I started but now I want everyone to know what they did to my car. I took it in to fix my clutch but it took him almost 2 months for him to call that it was ready. When I went to get it he said he had to install an ignition switch because he couldn't start it so I'm like ok but he left a part hanging so I had to use two keys to start it ok well I was upset but happy to get.my car back that I left it alone but I went to drive home and the clutch was getting stuck I was about a block away, I took it back and he said he would fix it a couple of days later I picked it up but I noticed my sun roof had been messed with it's a VW Eos it was a convertible so in order for the convertible top come off the sunroof has to close well guess what he must have tried to open it because I noticed a crack in the frame. Yo this day I am having a hard time finding someone to fix it because no one wants to go behind someone. I really hope you think twice before going to him because it is a big headache and it is going to cost me a lot of money to fix what they messed up read more

I've been meaning to write this review for way longer. I never write reviews. These guys just do such good, honest work, that I feel like I have to give them a shout out. Consistently every time I have taken my truck to them they do great work at reasonable prices. Not only that, but they go way above and beyond to make sure you're happy. For example: they were working on my truck and closed the door, the side mirror glass fell out, and they replaced it at no charge to me! they easily could have. Most recently I took my truck in for various stuff and they fixed it all only charging me for an hour of labor, and they also fixed my window roller which had fallen off due to the clip breaking which I hadn't even mentioned. They're incredible! nicest most honest mechanics i've ever dealt with. read more

In my search for a trustworthy service station (I know it sounds like an oxymoron but thanks to Leo's it's not), my neighbor recommended Leo's. Here's how it goes down: I take my 10 year old car there and describe the strange thing it's doing (most recently it sounded like an airplane) and describe it to Leo or Mike. They look it over and call me back and give me an honest assessment of the price and whether the work needs to be done immediately or it can wait. I have had very positive, communicative experiences with them on multiple occasions ... so much so, that I have taken at least three friends there to get their cars inspected or fixed here. As with all service stations, they can get really busy and not call you as promptly as you would like, but you can easily pick the phone up and call for an update on the progress. The surrounding neighborhood on Airport can be a little bit unsavory, but the service and price are right ... and Boggy Creek Farm is only a couple of miles away. I'm not a mechanic, but I can find my way around under the hood without a map. So, if I'm paying a mechanic, it means it's beyond my abilities. Thankfully the staff here can listen to what I've already tried, get some ideas and figure out what's wrong almost immediately. More importantly, they don't offer up bs. There's no extra work that mysteriously needs to be done and the labor is for actual time worked. Needless to say, if I can't fix it at home, this is always the place I take my vehicle to. read more

I love this place. Family owned and operated. Mr. Leo is one of the east side gems. I can't pump my own gas, makes me nauseous, he has a full service pump which is a complete life saver for me. I now get my oil changed here. Took them 20 minutes this morning. Beats sitting at a Jiffy Lube for 1-2 hours. They've been more than kind. I moved to Austin as a student and finding a good, trustworthy place to take your car is super important. The guys here showed me what was wrong with my car instead of just telling me, showed me how to change the oil filter in my Fiat, got me a new bolt when mine was stripped, and did everything in like.. an hour. Super friendly and nice people, it felt super homey inside and as a valley girl so far up north, anywhere I walk in with la virgen de guadalupe looking over makes me feel sooo much better. Full service? Self service? Sign at road just had a price, I got out to fill up, and staff said they were full service. Ok, paid the bill "inside" and the price was 58c more per gallon. Then I was told there were self service pumps "over there" Naughty not nice, buyer beware etc read more

I have been going to this place for years to get oil changes for all of my cars I had over the years with no problem until now. This go round I needed my A/C looked at because fog or something was blowing out of my air vents and drops of water were dropping on the floor. First of all the guy who checked my A/C is a shade tree mechanic, he charged me $160 just to drain the freon out of my a/c then put it back in along with some kind of sealant becaue U had a leak, so he claims....my car sat a whole day practically before he even touched it when I was told it would take a couple of hours...smh....come to find out, after I left the place I had several other mechanics look at my vehicle because I felt that something wasn't right. Come to find out that what he told me was wrong was not what the problem was, my heater core needed to be replaced (all the other mechanics said the same thing)...now only a real mechanic would have known that...I will NEVER go back down there and I don't suggest anyone else to...just a heads up! read more

My car failed an inspection here. The inspector said everything checked out, but they couldn't connect their scanner to my car's computer and I needed to check my fuses. I dropped by my auto shop the next week and they had no trouble getting readings from my car with their cheapest scanner. I had planned to take my car back in for a re-inspect, but their weekend hours had changed so I missed the deadline. I've seen different weekend hours on their door every time I've dropped by. I'm inclined to think they were just having an off-day when they couldn't get the scanner to work, but the inconsistent weekend hours are really aggravating. read more

My mothers car broke down in south Austin and needed a tow to a shop. She choose Texan towing to send it to the dealer. The driver highly recommended Leos. The next day Leo informed my mother that the thermostat would cost $250 to change. So she said go ahead, then after it was replaced it still leaked antifreeze. The shop said the thermo housing broke and was going to cost another $95! I told her to ask for the parts when finshed, they immediately changed stories and said they could not find the part and was not the housing, that it was the water pump. The price immediatley jumped to over $850 for two hoses a thermostat and water pump. Leo should have at the very least gave the worst case scenario for the job. Only two things that could have went wrong on this American made car! Then he said he did not really think he could do it. We picked up the car and took it to the dealer where they charge the same price. Some savings! Oh, by the way, the tow driver was there laughing at all of this when he said average savings from dealer was around 30%, obviously related. You are better off at the dealer where you know it is done right. read more
