TLDR: These people are FANTASTIC at what they do, and trust them to get the work done…read more My family and I have been thinking of a kitchen renovation for several years but were hesitant due to the scale and potential cost of a project like this. Beyond Builders and their staff were communicative and understanding from start to finish! In our initial meetings with Josh and Tomoko, they carefully listened to our desired outcomes and focused on staying within a set budget we were comfortable with (cuz economy's tough y'know?). Once the contract was signed, 3D designs were promptly drafted which gave us several options to choose from, they guided us through obtaining required items for the material list, and once everything was ready a start date was set. They were very patient with us, we never felt rushed, and our desired outcomes were always prioritized. Junior and Ming were the leads on the renovation portion, and MAN do they work efficiently! They said it would take two weeks, and they finished in two weeks. One thing I appreciate about their crew was the communication on progress and collaborative questions. For example, before installing handles on the cabinets they would ask beforehand how we'd like them placed. They always made sure it was being made the way we wanted. At the end of the renovation, the kitchen felt like something out of a movie set. As you can tell in the attached pictures, the before pictures (green, walled) and after pictures (open, white countertop) is night and day. They were doing such a good job that I had to request a change order to install a new vanity in our bathroom to replace the old one haha. All in all, Beyond Builders was a pleasure to work with. Our family is so happy with the renovation and we already plan to hit them up for future projects (when we have the funds). Big shout out to Josh, Tomoko, Junior, Ming and their crew! Instantly, I heard back from Keith to schedule a home visit. In the first week of January, Keith came by to do a look through. He was very kind and professional. Keith emailed my estimate within several days. Our bathroom remodel was scheduled to take 14 days, but it was completed within 9 days, which was good for our family considering we only have one bathroom. From initial contact throughout the project Jeff, HHR Supervisor, kept open communication with me every day. He kept me afloat on what they found, what needed to be done, what my options were. Jeff and his team were very detailed and the level of work they did was beyond superb. Our goal was to finish prior to the baby coming and they exceeded our expectations and finished early. What can normally be a very stressful time, our renovation was a positive experience with a lot less stress than I anticipated. Attention to detail and a sincere motivation to do things the right way is how I would describe Igor and Vitali from Top Level Construction. A lot of the time these days you will hire a contractor or someone to do work around your house and they will do the minimum to make it work and usually cut a lot of corners. Igor and Vitali truly care about the level of their work and building things to last so there won't be issues in the future. An example of Vitali and Igor going above and beyond is when we decided to put 'Ohi'a posts in at the kitchen Island and they had to cut the countertop and tile around the uneven surface. It took a bit longer but the final product looks amazing! They even joked that they could install irrigation to water the trees if we wanted.. Igor could be a team lead/foreman himself as he showed so much skill as the understudy to Vitali. Whenever a challenge arose (which always happens in construction) they would always have great budget-friendly solutions to move the project forward. As the PM, Oleh, helped sort through everything with us as well. If we have future work that needs to be done on our house we won't look anywhere else. The project included a full down-to-the-studs kitchen remodel, extensive work in the bathroom, complete removal of the popcorn ceiling, new luxury vinyl plank flooring throughout, brand-new doors, and two fresh coats of paint on every wall. We got three bids, and Top Level was competitively priced. Their bid was also by far the most detailed--almost a line-item outline of the entire scope of work--which gave us a clear understanding of what to expect and a lot of confidence in their process. They came out on a Thursday to look at the unit and had demo work underway by the following Tuesday. That quick turnaround and level of responsiveness gave us a great first impression--and they kept that momentum throughout the entire job. The crew, all Ukrainian craftsmen, were hardworking and professional. Their work ethic really stood out. Dima, the project manager, was fantastic--always in touch, always on top of the details, and great about communicating both progress and any unexpected issues as they came up. We contacted several contractors for our master bathroom renovation for my elderly mom, but many of…read morethem did not get back to us in a timely manner... Spencer, from Kurihara Contracting, was different. He got back to us and quickly and scheduled a visit. Upon meeting him, we felt very at ease and comfortable. He was very knowledgable and seemed to be a straight shooter (I wanted some storage over the toilet and he straight up told me that would be weird because it would block the bathroom window). After listening to what we were thinking, he came up with a plan and gave us an estimate. We didn't get any renderings (not sure if bathroom renovations get those?) but we knew he knew what he was doing, so it wasn't really an issue - Mom and I were trusting he and his team's professionalism and it worked! Did we have any idea of the cost of a bathroom renovation? No. Was it more than I imagined it to be? Honestly, yes. But after the job was done, did I think it was worth it? ABSOLUTELY YES. The job Kurihara Contracting did with our master bathroom was AWESOME. And I think with this company, you get what you pay for - The professionalism, consideration, final product...chef's kiss! Our bathroom looks so much larger and brighter! We just love it. We were also able to upgrade to a toilet we wanted (something really important to my mom ;D). After meeting with a few other contractors which provided quotes way above our budget, we finally met with Alex, which was through a recommendation. We couldn't be any happier with the opportunity to have worked with Versatile Construction. From the very beginning, while we had an idea of what we wanted, Alex helped us come to a good design/size requirement, providing suggestions and options along the way. Alex worked with his architect to complete multiple iterations of the drawings (making sure we were happy with what would be built), and also obtained the necessary permits for us. We were also able to use our own mason just for the concrete/foundation portion and there was absolutely no complications with bringing in this third party into the mix; Alex worked very well with him, making sure they were both on the same page and that all was in order for the build. As for the build, we are really satisfied with the results of the entire project, and especially with the way Alex coordinates/communicates and how he works along side his team. He was very upfront with scheduling himself and his team along with the other projects they were managing, but they were always there when they scheduled themselves to work on our house. We are pleased with the quality of work that was done. We feel very fortunate to have found a contractor that we can trust, with a team that takes pride in the what they do. We will definitely be calling these guys again for any project the future and would highly recommend Versatile Construction.
