Dentist. I received a bill 8/11 for $223 for the consult. No one called let me know how much they billed $366 for the consult, and on top of that the office doesn't have a scale but they put people under (apparently they just take your word for your weight) my teen doesn't weigh herself and they asked me to estimate. I was 25 pounds off. The doc wasn't reassuring and now my kid is unrealistically afraid of the surgery and no one ever called me to let me know how much the surgery would be or when we could get her on the schedule. I was hoping she could have her wisdom teeth removed over the summer but now I have to start all over with another office. I'm glad this place thinks so highly of themselves. As a parent, I can't charge them for my time but I sure can protect my kids from them. After reading some terrible reviews, I'm just lucky I felt all the bad vibes before something much worse happened.

Then she told me she had no appointment for my daughter even though her orthodontist had sent the referral over which I confirmed when I made our dual appointments. The waiting room was completely filled which means they were running behind and did not care about inconveniencing their patients. We are all busy and should not tolerate people or businesses disrespectful to their patients/customers by not seeing them on time. Disaster!

Unfortunately, maybe it was only my experience but in my original wisdom tooth extraction consultation there I was told by a kind and descriptive dentist to ask for a in-depth image and to have everything explained to me and she explained what she could so I felt secure that the actual wisdom tooth extraction experience would be similar in descriptiveness. Unfortunately for me it wasn't. While I will say the ladies and man assisting and who were in the room were very kind and caring, offering me comfort, the oral surgeon lady who was going to remove my wisdom teeth was very blunt and belittling in my opinion. To explain, she simply told me all four of my teeth are getting removed and I asked why because I had previously been told my upper wisdom teeth were very high up (a lot of bone between my mouth and wisdom teeth) and I could wait to have them grow out further before removing them and she instead of answering my question just said the bone regrows because I'm young. When I asked how far up or low my top wisdom teeth are in my mouth, she said I don't understand your question. I started to cry and get anxious because she wasn't answering my questions, trembling because I was afraid, and she instead repeated herself in a belittling tone. (I had thought she would be descriptive and explain my worries to me calmly like in my original consultation). Ultimately, I asked for my dad which was when she explained herself slightly better. In the end, she said I never told her about only getting my bottom ones out (which I did in the beginning before I got scared and starting crying) so we ultimately left after she said she wouldn't proceed, yes, my father did get agitated but only because I was trembling and crying in fear and feeling unheard. It was as if they were rushing me and out. No beside manners, nobody introduced themselves the got straight to asking questions, pressure check, didn't ask before pulling my shirt up to put heart monitor pads on me, no regard for patient commodity, they just kept going despite seeing me crying. No comfort, just rushing. I am 19 and this was my first ever surgery, if she had even just spoken to me kinder or more professionally, I would have been fine but she just proceeded to insert my iv, and repeat herself without (I feel like) regards for my fear or feelings. Please do not fear! The other employees were kind and helpful, but she gave me a new fear that I didn't know I could get. Kindness and compassion goes a long way.

Never go here for the sake of everyone they say they're certified, but we just found out that's not the case.

I…read morewas slightly nervous (it is the dentist office after all) and excited to visit Dr. Chui's office as he had so many positive ratings. It took 1.5 months to get my first introductory cleaning + x-ray exam due to him being so busy. But, I now understand why he is so well-liked and highly requested. The dental hygienists and staff were so welcoming and friendly. They made me at peace the whole time. Somehow, my hygienist was able to clean my "6-year old" teeth in 1 hour... I could feel and see the difference instantly! It was amazing. Dr. Chui is a warm, friendly and thorough dentist. His office is equipped with the latest technology. While I was lying in the chair, I was able to see the exact teeth he was referencing and talking about via a large computer monitor hanging from the roof which was connected to a livestream camera... so awesome! Dr. Chui was able to show me on the screen where a cavity was forming and how I was grinding/clenching my teeth down. I could clearly see the uneven borders and enamel and even hairline cracks in my teeth through the screen images. I assume I have been doing this for years but Dr. Chui is the first dentist to go out of his way to educate me on this. While there, I even decided to purchase a custom-mold dental guard. This product is offered by Dr. Chui's office. Dr. Chui had two options to choose from and even insisted I purchase the more economical option to see if I utilized the guard enough before purchasing the more expensive one. He was upfront, honest and not "pushy" in any regard. In two hours at Dr. Chui's office, I learned more about dental hygiene and my own teeth structure then I had learned ever before. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Chui and his staff to anyone in the area looking for a well-mannered, thorough and friendly dental office.

The dentist was pretty dismissive of my concerns at the initial consult for my wisdom teeth removal; I wrote this off as being due to my own nervousness about the procedure. Then, Limchaseng prescribed me medication that I was allergic to, and it took two weeks of (mostly unreturned) phone calls for me to get that straightened out. He claimed that I probably wasn't really allergic, and that it would be fine: I had to insist to get a different medication prescribed. The bigger issue, though, had to do with extremely shady financial dealings. The first thing I had asked was whether they accepted my insurance; I was assured over and over again that they did. Then, when I came in to pay the deposit, they did a complete bait and switch. They waited until I had paid $600 deposit, and then demanded an additional $3,000 dollars seconds later, and said they would not perform the surgery unless I paid it, claiming that my insurance was unreliable. When I questioned the change, Limchaseng came out and was extremely unprofessional, asking me why I thought it was okay to not pay him and why I thought it was acceptable for him to not pay his staff a living wage(?). This all happened 5 days before my scheduled surgery: I had already taken time off from work, as had my partner, and I really needed to have the procedure done on the scheduled date. Luckily, Novato Oral Surgery had an opening on that date - they were kind, compassionate, and professional, and took excellent care of me. My insurance came through with no problem, and the total out of pocket cost was 1/3 what Limchaseng had initially charged for a "deposit." Also, Limchaseng exclusively hires young women, and calls everyone who works in his office as "his girls." These women seem to be good at their jobs, but the way he refers to them is very odd and off-putting: adult women are not children. Strongly recommend everyone pay attention to all the negative reviews here and find a different oral surgeon!
