Found this gem a few years back and drove 30 mins just to try it again. Jenna our waitress was amazing and provided the best service. We tried their homemade kimchi which I highly recommend! The sushi rolls are so fresh and reasonably priced considering the high quality. The homemade soy sauce is another win. We also tried the lychee soju which was a sweet but refreshing alcoholic Korean drink. I wish we took pictures to add to the review to show you all how great everything was! If you walk in and see any of their 7 tables occupied forget about placing an order to go. "You'll wait a long time, very busy" as I was told. But even before that the way she reacted to my asking to place an order to go was odd. Her facial expression was as if I was asking for her first born. I've been here a couple of times. Every time for classic rolls nothing crazy. Each of those times the place was empty or there was only two other customers other me at most. I was eagerly waiting for Sushi Izakaya to open, then COVID hit. After an interminable wait, Sushi 2020 opened. I was there for day 2. Normally I'd wait a month for things to settle in a routine so you can get a sense of how things will be and the glitches in service have been ironed out. But, with takeout, it is all about the food and Sushi 2020 did not disappoint. The fish was fresh and tasty, presented for takeout immaculately, the staff was welcoming. I've been back a number of times since and the quality has been top notch. I have to try the Korean side once I tire of sushi. PS. I wish the Isakaya concept was seen through as I would be living there, since my domicile is a 10 minute walk away. Home visiting my parents during Covid and a was craving West Coast sushi. Lo and behold, this place just opened up about 5 minutes from their house and the sushi is SO fresh and delicious--way better than anything I've had here to date. I had the 2020 Special roll w/ shrimp tempura and crab, and it did not disappoint. The Mandu was equally delicious and the homemade soy sauce divine. The biggest plus: they serve Korean food, too! I'm looking forward to heading back for some kimchi fried rice & bibimbap this week. While not yet open for dine in, the restaurant looked impeccable--so very cute and clean. This was my second time at Sushi 2020 and it was just as good as the first time. My kids ordered the ramen soup bowl which was delicious. Sushi is super fresh and waitress is amazingly nice and so appreciative! She was genuinely happy to have us there. I customize my rolls (I can't have sesame, fish eggs or cucumber) and they are very accommodating. My favorites are the Heart Attack Roll, 2020 Special Roll, California Crunch roll and the Kimchi fried rice. Every single item we've ordered has arrived exactly as we've ordered it, and we are always blown away by the quality and craftsmanship. I've been here multiple times since I found out it was in Shelton. I've been looking for a good sushi/Asian food place for a long time without any luck. My first time coming here the sushi was very delicious, it tasted fresh and was well-made. The last time I went there, my dad and I decided to wait inside for the food. There was piano music playing on the TV and the owner had made us some tea to drink while we waited. We were drinking the tea while watching the deer outside on the hill.
