I'm a very simple sushi person. I like no-frills, traditional rolls. Sushi B is a touch pricey, but the chef there is quite good at making sushi. I wasn't expecting the salmon roll to come with cream cheese, which took me aback at first; the flavor profile was very California roll-esque which I wasn't in the mood for. Just be forewarned if you're expecting only salmon. The tuna roll was quite lovely, though. The service was prompt and everyone there was very accommodating. Granted, I was the only customer in the restaurant, but still. There was an issue with the register, and another employee jumped in to help my cashier. He loved teriyaki chicken, found the rice to be a bit too mushy, the cali roll seemed cheap, like Publix sushi quality, and the shrimp tempura tasted like it was reheated. I got the chicken hibachi meal. The chicken reminded me of the chicken served in mall restaurants that seem to be some kind of combination of East Asian food style. The noodles and rice were just okay and I did like the veggies, but I wish there were more of them. I also got the happy hour tuna roll. For the happy hour price, this was worth it. It was a very, very simple roll, with limited flavor. This gem was off in a corner but really needs to be on top of a hill because the food was absolutely delicious! When I walked in it was very clean they have a TV inside for sports which is a good thing. The cooks were in front so you could actually see them cooking your food . Overall decent spot! The staff was friendly, efficient and the place was clean. We ordered a couple of things so let's break it down. I myself had the miso soup and cheesecake tempura. Firstly, I'd like the state we all found the portions extremely small. The salad was okay. Plain and basic, with no inclusions such as olives, cheese, or tomatoes. Definitely could have done more. For some reason the fried rice didn't seem all that fried. Perhaps they steamed it instead? The rice was also a bit mushy on the plate... The vegetables however, were phenomenal in addition to the chicken. They were both intensely flavored, with onion for the vegetables and a unique sauce for the chicken. He would rate his meal 3.5/5. Lastly, my other dinner mate decided on the Chicken and Rice bowl. Following what seemed to be the theme for the night, she wasn't blown away and didn't find this meal particularly special. It was good, not seasoned, but would she get it again? Perhaps. Small portions for a $15 platter may also convince her not to though. This bowl remains steadily in the middle. It was my first time visiting Orlando, I was touring UCF. We were hungry and wanted a close place to eat lunch and we chose to get sushi here. I have to say I was sketchy at first, due to the restaurant being by a college I was unsure what to expect. But the service was phenomenal. You order at the counter and you sit down and they give you your food. I ordered the spicy tuna & philadelphia roll and they were both incredible. I was extremely surprised how knowledgeable the staff was about what was in their food as I cannot have gluten. The white sauce & the strawberry soda is delicious! They have gluten free soy sauce options and you can put your own sauces on your sushi (like eel sauce) they are out for everyone's use which is super nice! This was our first visit and wow, the menu is huge. This is a restaurant where you order at the counter then seat yourself and drinks are self serve. You are given a number and your food is delivered to your table. We ordered a chicken tempura bento box ($13.95)which included several tempura chicken strips, two tempura shrimp, a spring roll, 4 pieces of California roll and sticky white rice. There was also a light somewhat sweet sauce with it. Both the tempura chicken and shrimp needed a little sauce for flavor. The spring roll was tasty. We also ordered the chicken hibachi grill dinner($13.95) with grilled chicken, fried rice, noodles with broccoli, carrots and ginger. This was a tasty dish and a lot of food. In fact we are taking home as much as was eaten. Both dinners were served with soup and a green salad with ginger dressing. We also ordered a California roll ($5.50). The server that brought our food also checked on us throughout our meal. He was very nice and welcoming. The cashier who took our order was also very nice and friendly. My friend and I went to eat for happy hour, which is from 4-6 everyday. Select sushi rolls are 3.75 and there are 5 dollar draft beers. The young girl at the cash register didn't seem to know much about any of the specials or several different items on the menu. My friend asked her about a certain dish, her response was, "I don't do fish, ask the chef". Immediately my friend told her she needs to ask the chef herself because this is her job, not ours. The professionalism was not present at all. She did not know the posted specials either, which was disappointing because Kyoto could have received more money from us today. If you are a new employee, saying things correctly to customers letting them know you are new and learning the menu is ideal. Although, I don't think she was new, I believe this was due to laziness and lack of training. She didn't mention being new and to me, in this day n age; customer service all around is going downhill. We ate outside, our server was extremely non-attentive. She did not ask us once if we were ok, if we needed anything else, or how our food was. I found the service to also be extremely slow and totally not what I'm use to when I go to Kyoto. The place was not that busy, so I am not sure what was the issue. My sushi was good, and fried rice I ordered was as well. My friend also ordered some tuna rolls and another dish with tuna on it and she enjoyed it. Chicken hibachi, vegetables, rice, and salad for $5.99. You can choose from white or fried rice and miso soup or ginger salad. Other types of meat are slightly more. I've never had the sushi here. I think I had a mango smoothie with boba once but it was too sugary. I normally stick with dark meat chicken hibachi with fried rice because that's cheaper than white meat. Now that I'm on a health kick, I'd probably spend the up-charge for the healthier option. Today I tried the salmon teriyaki with white rice. I'd have liked a little less teriyaki sauce on it because it pooled up in some places. The food is normally tasty. Came for my daughter before heading out of town. Service was much better, they cooked the food promptly and check on our table repeatedly. You walk-in, order and they bring your food once you are seated. I ordered the Mexican Roll, which is shrimp tempura, topped with imitation crab, avocado and spicy mayo. I asked to skip on the avocado and added cream cheese inside. The imitation crab came shredded on top of the roll. It was average sushi for a fast food place, nothing special. My boyfriend ordered a Bento Box dinner. It was chicken Teriyaki, which he did not enjoy. The chicken was drowned in soy-sauce. And everything else was bland. I was hesitant because when we ordered the staff was young, had no clue what I just ordered (I was corrected on a salmon poke bowl - the person taking my food order was like, "We don't have that." & I had to point it out in the menu & show him it existed) & I'd be personally scared when I try out any sushi/hibachi place that advertised Japanese fast food & has what seems to be a drive through window. The ordering process was akin to Pei Wei, there are huge menus in line & smaller ones you can hold -, you pay after ordering, then they give you a number & your food is brought out. I ordered a salmon poke bowl (about $13) & since it was Happy Hour, a salmon roll ($3.75). Husband ordered the hibachi with chicken & shrimp (sans the noodles replace with double veggies), rice to the side & it came with miso soup & a ginger salad ($15). With 2 drinks it came out to about $37+. The salmon roll was ok. It wasn't the best I had, nor was it the worst. There was too much rice instead of protein but, it was a $3.75 roll, so I get it. My husband loved the miso soup & the ginger dressing on the salad was great. The food though, for the price was awesome! The salmon poke bowl was a delightful medley of textures! There was three layers of the bowl. The first layer was of of course, the really flavorful & a generous portion of poke salmon surrounded by lettuce, seaweed salad, a few amount of crispy noodles, & shredded carrot. The second layer was of nori combined with seasoning of sesame seeds that was delicious. The last layer & bottom of the bowl was sticky rice & it was perfect. It was a good layered balance with the focus on the texture & taste rather than suffocating it with rice. My husband's hibachi platter was huge! Instead of noodles they gave a huge portion of veggies and tons of chicken & shrimp. He's always worried about hibachi, restaurants generally portion out noodles to be the surplus, for here, they really made his order balanced out. He was so happy to see all of it veggies & protein. I seriously love this little chain. I see why they are opening up more locations. I wish there was one closer to me, but it's probably better for my waistline that there's not. This place just makes me happy. I don't know if it's because of all the delicious food you get for a reasonable price, or if it's because it reminds me of all the good times I've had at Kobe Japanese Steakhouse with friends. I ordered 30 pieces of sushi. When I arrived home I was extremely upset because the sashimi slices were about 1/3rd the normal size. For perspective I've put the salmon piece next to the soy sauce dipping cup. As you can see in the other picture (which is from their review photos) the size I got and paid for is less than half the normal size.
