3.5 stars and the definition of a hole-in-the-wall. This sushi restaurant sits behind CVS and is pretty much hidden from the world. It's location and secrecy definitely played to our benefit since all other nearby restaurants had a 2+ hour wait during the holidays. Lucky for us, we were able to call up Sushi Bento and pick up our meal within 20 minutes. Our order consisted of Baked Salmon roll, Rainbow roll, a chicken bowl, gyoza, and miso soup. We also asked for a few sides of eel sauce and spicy mayo on the side. They meal was definitely tasty and large in size.. but it didn't quite blow me away. read more

Happy that we found this shop for a quick bite thanks to Yelp. We were in the area after returning from JTNP and wanted a quick bite for a late dinner. We got their baked lobster roll and atarashi roll, and these rolls satisfied our cravings! Solid presentation for take out and tastes good! Price to portions are fair and expected. It looks like they are a mom and pop shop too so we did not mind the extra wait when they were busy with orders from other guests there and called in orders. Returned 4 years later since my first review-- the quality has gotten even better. The place is deceivingly impressive, delivering the best bang for buck for quality and taste. I don't ever leave reviews; however, the best mom and pop shops like these deserve all the love! I don't think it's about giving slack and being generally nice to smaller businesses, but really differentiating the truly good spots that should be separated from the rest. I love this place! Always satisfied & happy with whatever I get here but one of my favorite things is spicy tuna & I decided to get the double tuna roll & dear lord! It was delicious & spicy! the spicy tuna the sliced tuna over the roll with a sliced Serrano chili topped off with siracha! Also had the Kup Bob Bowl & that was really good too! This is a little restaurant that is tucked in a little shopping center. Dont let the outside fool you. Its really good sushi. The restaurant was empty... But Many to go orders were coming through. The staff is very nice and the chef brought over a special surprise not on the menu that was so good. The rolls are unique and have a really good combination to them. Was really happy with the size of the rolls as well. We ordered 5 rolls with many appetizers. Even ordered an extra roll and appetizer to go. We really enjoyed the food here. I'm here on vacation and decided to find the nearest sushi restaurant. This is the best sushi I've had in a very very long time. I'm a garlic lover so I ordered the spicy garlic edamame which was soooo amazing, I ordered 2 of them. The salmon lover, poke, Baja, and salmon sashimi was all outstanding! The salmon lover came with spicy sauce but because my kids were eating it, I ordered it on the side and my god, it was sooooo good! I will definitely be back again. read more

This place may be small but it is mighty. When your food is served be prepared to receive a visual work of art. Colors, shapes, textures and taste are sure to amaze. We did not want to leave and I was disappointed I could not finish my plate since it was too long of a drive to take home leftovers. Next time I'll bring the cooler! This place deserves five stars for the prompt and thoughtful service, the exquisite combination of ingredients and the outstanding food freshness. I've been to other sushi places and the freshness is an issue at quite a few, but definitely not here. I completely enjoyed the Mango roll it  includes; cream cheese, shrimp tempura, crab, avocado, cucumber, mango and Serrano pepper.  I tried a lovely bite of the Firecracker roll it includes; deep fried shrimp, avocado, cream cheese, spicy crab and crunchy stuff on top. My daughter just loved this roll!  The Tuna Tatkaki salad looks amazing! The chef brought us a special plate, one for each of us! For what it is, the sushi is really good. Located in a strip mall, it definitely doesn't seem like you'd find sushi here but don't hate on it. It definitely wasn't busy inside but I got the impression they do a lot of Togo orders. Service was quick and sushi came out fast. Definitely one of the best sushi places I've tried and this is in the middle of a desert. We ordered the baked scallop roll, coachella roll, and I can't remember the third roll but they were all delicious. The interior is pretty small and cozy but this is a hidden gem in Indio. Don't be deceived by the location. Small little place in a shopping center, but soooo good. We got the Baked Salmon, Baked Scallop, & the 3 Amigos roll. I'm not kidding when I say it was amazing. The sushi here was just plain awful. We ordered a variety of rolls and they all were flavorless and the fish did not taste fresh. There was nothing exciting about these rolls whatsoever... on a scale of 1-10, the food was about a 3. No one got sick (which was good). The presentation of the rolls was about the only thing positive with the sushi. The inside was small and not much seating. No ambiance. This place seemed like a "take out" place. I should've came to this spot right when I moved here. Lived around this area for 5 years and haven't tried this place until today. The amount of fish and how fresh the fish are was amazing. Have not been here since 2019. So glad they are still in business. First they added more tables and booths. I had the baked scallops over a California roll and the eel avocado roll. Both delicious. I would have again. My husband had the Indio roll. He liked it. Currently on get here while traveling to & from Tucson, Az. Only one person working the front of the restaurant. The miso soup was good BUT my "veggie roll" was made with the most bitter romaine lettuce and a sliver (I mean I couldn't even see it) of avocado. I was trying to figure out what was tasting so off with my roll but had eaten 4 pieces when it dawned on me the whole thing was bitter lettuce. $8 for some rice and lettuce. Mentioned it to the server and he just stared at me. I asked where the cucumber and carrots were (maybe it's just cause we are from Los Angeles and that's what we are used to) he said they make veggie rolls with lettuce. This place has the greatest sushi! The rolls are so large that just one will fill you up which is unusual for me. The staff here are super nice as well! I ordered a sushi roll called "shrimp tempura" roll and a miso soup via post mates. I wish there was a description or pictures of the roll because I had no idea I was going to be eating avocado and rice for dinner. Literally there is a ridiculously small piece of shrimp in each rolled and the rest it's stuffed with avocado. The "tempura" part of it its almost non existent crumbs of tempura sprinkles on top. Not happy, I had about 2 rolls before realizing I'm just eating avocado for dinner, can't even taste the shrimp. read more

This sushi restaurant is amazing. The rolls are about 2 inches tall & about an inch and a half wide (chopsticks for reference). I believe both the rolls were about $12 each but for that size, it was a great deal. All the rolls are made fresh with fresh fish. It was very delicious! The service is amazing too. It was really soft with perfect bite sized pieces of broccoli, carrots, and mushrooms! The sauce wasn't thick like some teriyaki sauces and I really loved it! The only thing I didn't like was the veggie roll, that was full of lettuce (like legit iceberg lettuce). It doesn't say lettuce in the description or else I would have got something else.
