Wow wow wow! As we stepped off the beach last night, a bit sandy and newly fresh out of the ocean we headed towards a pizza place on Collins... but the vibe and delicious smells coming from Bichi stopped us in our tracks. Titon, our soon to be new best friend, called for us to come meet him at the bar and assured us, even with S"sandy feed we were welcome and we're about to experience something unique and amazing in this new North Beach establishment. After we re-entered through the front entrance, the host greeted us and we went straight back to the bar where we sat amongst other locals and got treated like gold! The menu is expansive and we were starved so with a simple glance and nod, Triton took over and ordered for us and quickly got our drink orders in. The first plate was a salmon tiradito that melted in our mouths. Then came the ceviche with a delicious tang. From there were two skewers, one a Japanese eggplant and one trumpet mushrooms and asparagus, both perfection. Next up was the salmon pizza which was a great take on a lox and everything bagel. It was light, flavorful and balanced just right. The last was a yellowtail roll with shrimp that has a slight jalapeño crema - to die for. We finished off with a desert that had chocolate, ice cream and a charred marshmallow topping that was heaven. Our drinks were never empty and the waters were refilled promptly. Both the manager and the owner stopped by to check on our experience. So excited for the arrival of this much needed restaurant in North Beach! read more

We had: Oyster - excellent, fresh oysters. We just added a squeeze of lemon and they were perfect. Rainbow roll - very good, the hamachi is outstanding. Maryland Blue Crab California roll - so good. One of the best California rolls I've ever had Sakezo - very unique and interesting roll. Light and fresh with good balance between fish and veggies Zenbu Naruto - Another very light and fresh roll, no rice Chu-toro hand rolls - this was probably the highlight. I feel after the pandemic, it's really changed the service force. It was such a fresh breath of air to have such an amazing time and service! I had a party of 11 of us for my birthday, and we were treated with smiles, and taken care of like kings. The food was phenomenal! Some of the most beautiful, fresh seafood I have ever had in my entire life. I've been traveling seven years full-time, and I will definitely be coming back just to eat here! If you're BLACK! this is not the establishment you want to experience! Sat at the bar on a very windy night in Miami, after ordering my food, I asked the bartender for a to go box due to the weather, very sweet bartender recommended a table seat that would be more comfortable in which I agreed. Sat at the table and waited for awhile. Not once did any of the servers came to my table until I flagged one of them. I noticed they were going to all the other lighter skinned toned guests. I then asked the server for a drink in which she was very short with me and rude! Paid my bill then spoke with a manager to tell him my experience. The manager was looking around the whole time with this smirk on his face of laughter, then said I'll give you my business card to make it up to you with no show if empathy. I did NOT take his card, paid for my meal, tip the nice bartender who was still incredibly amazing and left. What a shame because I live in this neighborhood for almost 10 yrs and I always look forward to supporting small businesses in my neighborhood. Sushi Bichi! Do better! The flavors were AMAZING We then got the bichi mushroom and the octopus. The octopus was super tender and was complimented by the vinaigrette. My family didn't even finish the rolls, and we ALWAYS finish everything. We saw the good ratings on yelp and thought it would live up to the 4.8, but this is a solid 2 star. The only other time I have had service like that was at a Japanese restaurant in Kyoto that has $500 a plate omakase. Really above and beyond service. The ambiance is great I really liked the decor. The lighting was really nice and it was just a cozy welcoming environment. In fact the reason why we found out about the place is because we were walking by the beach to go to a concert and we saw the restaurant -- it looked so nice and inviting that we decided that we had to eat there even though we never even looked at the menu. The price is a really great value for what you get. That was a nice touch at the end to have such a reasonable bill come to your table. After dinner I nice walk across the street on the beach with a nice cigar ! Perfection. Can not recommend highly enough. I found this restaurant because of Miami Spice, and I couldn't recommend more! We came on a Sunday and it wasn't too busy, we got sat right away. We asked for the Miami Spice menu and Destiny (the most wonderful waitress) recommended us with plates that were the most popular, and man did they not disappoint! It was all very flavorful and fresh. The manager, Hayes, passed by and asked us about our food and even recommended my boyfriend a different Old Fashion than what he had originally ordered with a signature Japanese whiskey, which was amazing. He was great enough to bring us a complimentary plate, which was the Salmon Tiradito, it was so fresh, light and absolutely delicious! The owner, James, also made his rounds and we had wonderful conversation with him - such as the background of their award winning chefs and where they got inspiration for their menu.
